South City 1 is a Unitech plotted colony in the middle of Gurgaon. A 2026 public notice from Unitech's government-appointed board describes it as a colony in Sectors 30, 40 and 41 on about 301 acres, licensed in stages from 1985 onward and close to the HUDA City Centre metro station, now Millennium City Centre. The notice says the colony was handed over to the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram in 2020.

Homes here are generous by Gurgaon standards. Unitech's own floor plans for South City 1 run from 160 to 420 square metres, and some families have lived in theirs since the colony's early years. So a common move is a downsizing one: parents leaving a large floor or house for a flat, or moving to be near children in another city, with a lifetime of furniture, books, crockery and papers to sort first.

Access is the other thing to know. In June 2025 the town planning department removed 51 unauthorised gates from the colony's 9-metre and 12-metre internal roads across blocks C to M, PropNewsTime reported. In July 2026 the MCG approved road, water, sewerage and drainage works for South City 1, so expect some digging. What will not fit the new home can go to our warehouse; next door is Sushant Lok 1.

Downsizing From a South City 1 Home

Most of the work happens before the first carton is taped.

  1. Sort first, then pack

    We walk the house with you and mark each piece: moving, storing, giving away or selling. Only what is going is packed, so you pay to move nothing you do not want.

  2. A home for the overflow

    With MCG works approved for roads, water and drains, a lane may be dug up for a while. We check your street in the week before the move.

  6. Moving to family in another city

    If you are moving closer to children elsewhere in India, the household goes as a domestic relocation, with an inventory and a delivery window.
