Sector 14 belongs to the first ring of Gurgaon's sectors. The Tribune notes that the early sectors, up to Sector 23, were laid out along the old Delhi–Gurgaon road, with DLF's Old DLF Colony built beside Sector 14 (The Tribune). Its landmarks include Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Park, which most people call HUDA Garden (Wikipedia), the HUDA office complex, the Sector 14 market and the sector's own police station near Dev Public School.

In 2024 The Tribune named Sector 14 among the city's illegal-parking hotspots, and quoted a resident whose car was towed from outside the HUDA office (The Tribune).
