Manesar is a town in Gurugram district on NH-48, the Delhi–Jaipur highway, with its own municipal corporation since December 2020. IMT Manesar, the industrial model township developed by HSIIDC, holds car and two-wheeler plants such as Maruti Suzuki's and Honda's, auto-component makers and a warehousing sector, and the KMP Expressway meets NH-48 nearby. Much of the moving here is commercial: a production line shifting to a new shed, a vendor changing plots, stock going into or out of storage.
HSIIDC built the IMT in stages: Phase I from 1997–98, Phases II and III in 2003, Phase IV in 2004, a transport hub in 2008 and a warehousing area in 2013. Its list of large allottees shows how the township is numbered. Maruti Suzuki holds Plot 1 in Sector 3-A, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India holds Plot 1 in Sector 3, and other multinational units sit in Sectors 2A, 4, 5 and 7. The highway is often the slow part of a job here. In the first heavy rain of July 2026, the NH-48 carriageway caved in near Narsinghpur, two lanes were shut and traffic backed up from Hero Honda Chowk to the Kherki Daula toll (The Tribune), so on a wet day we allow extra time for the run from Gurgaon.
The rest is people. Plants bring in engineers, supervisors and managers on transfer, and each of them has a home to move. Many live in company accommodation, or in rented flats and rooms in the villages and sectors around the IMT. When a company transfers several people at once, we plan the households as one job: each family's goods packed and labelled apart, one schedule, one contact for HR.
