Packers and movers · Chandigarh tricity
Maxx Relocation works as packers and movers in Chandigarh, Mohali, Panchkula and Zirakpur. We shift sector homes, government quarters and flats across the tricity, and move families on transfer to Delhi and other cities, with a written quote first.
Moving in Chandigarh

Chandigarh is a planned grid of numbered sectors, so addresses are easy to find. The catch is that a short local move often crosses a state line: the city is a union territory, with Mohali in Punjab and Panchkula in Haryana, and Zirakpur, where many newer flats are, is in Punjab too. A ten-minute drive can take you across two of them.
Transfers are the other big part of moving here. The city has many government offices, the Chandimandir cantonment lies just to the north-east and the air force station is close by, so many moves follow a posting order with a fixed joining date. For these we plan backwards from the day you must vacate, and run the long drive as a domestic relocation.
Tell us your sector, the floor and the date on your order when you ask for a quote. That is usually enough for us to plan the crew.
Areas we cover
Chandigarh sectors and tricity areas where we move homes. Manimajra, Mohali, Panchkula and Zirakpur are all covered from this page.
Finding your way
In a grid city, the big roads and chowks are how everyone gives directions, and how we plan the truck's way in.
The two main roads across the city: Madhya Marg along the northern sectors and Dakshin Marg along the southern ones. Most trucks reach a sector from one of these.
The way out towards Ambala and Delhi. The Zirakpur stretch is often congested, so outstation trucks are timed for quieter hours.
Offices, showrooms and godowns sit here. Moves out of these buildings need the owner's or management's permission for loading, so arrange it early.
The station lies on the eastern side of the city, towards Manimajra and Panchkula. A useful marker for homes on that side of Chandigarh.
Two big campuses in the northern sectors: the PGI medical institute in Sector 12 and Panjab University in Sector 14. Staff and faculty moves here follow campus rules on vehicle entry and timing.
Homes we move
Many Chandigarh homes are government houses and Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB) flats. These are compact and solidly built, often on upper floors without a lift. Families on transfer need them empty and clean by a fixed date, so we pack in time for the handover.
Sector kothis in the northern and central sectors are the opposite: large, often with a lawn, garden furniture, planters and heavy old wooden pieces. We may pack these over more than a day and give the woodwork extra layers.
Newer flats in Zirakpur, Mohali and Panchkula are mostly in gated societies with lifts and move-in rules. Book the lift, get the gate pass and tell us where the truck can stand.
On the ground
Chandigarh is a union territory, with Punjab on one side and Haryana on the other. A tricity move may cross these lines; we carry the papers the vehicle needs and tell you what to keep with you.
Rules for handing back a government house differ by department. Check the handover date, the inspection and any clearance you need with your estate office; if the next house is not ready, we can keep your goods in storage.
Large goods vehicles may face limits on some city roads and at some hours. We choose the vehicle size and timing to suit your sector.
Most houses face a sector road with space nearby. For flats, tell us which side of the block the entrance faces.
When to move
April to June is the main transfer season, and it overlaps with the hottest months. Book as soon as your order arrives, and plan an early-morning start.
The monsoon, wettest in July and August, brings heavy rain to the foothills around Chandigarh, and some low roads fill with water. We cover the load well and check the weather before a long drive.
December and January bring dense fog on the Ambala–Delhi highway, especially early in the morning, so winter trucks heading south leave after the worst of it lifts. October–November and February–March are the most comfortable months to move.

It can travel on a car carrier, a covered trailer or a containerised truck. For a 250 km trip some families prefer to drive; our car transport page explains the carrier option.
Usually through Zirakpur to Ambala, then south on NH-44 past Kurukshetra, Karnal and Panipat, about 250 km in all. In winter we allow for fog on this road. Our Delhi page covers the other end.
