Packers and movers · Ludhiana, Punjab
Maxx Relocation works as packers and movers in Ludhiana for large family kothis, new flats and business premises. We pack household goods and business stock on separate lists, move them locally or across India, and quote in writing before the day.
Moving in Ludhiana

Ludhiana is Punjab's most populous city and a major industrial centre. Knitwear, bicycles, auto components and machine tools are made in units spread from Focal Point to the older bazaars. So a house move here often has a business side too: sample stock in the basement, a home office, or a small unit shifting in the same month as the family.
We treat the two as separate jobs inside one plan. Household goods and business goods get their own inventories and their own labels, so nothing ends up in the wrong building and any papers the stock needs stay with it. Offices, showrooms and units are handled by our office relocation crews.
The houses are big too. A kothi in Sarabha Nagar or Model Town may hold three generations of furniture. Tell us the number of floors and rooms when you ask for a quote, and whether any business stock is moving with the family.
Areas we cover
Colonies, bazaars and industrial areas where we move homes and businesses in Ludhiana. If yours is not listed, ask us anyway.
Finding your way
Tell us which of these is closest to you. It shapes the approach, the timing and sometimes the size of the vehicle.
NH-44, the Delhi–Amritsar highway, runs past the city. Trucks for Delhi head south-east towards Khanna and Ambala, while loads for Jalandhar and Amritsar cross the Sutlej near Ladhowal.
The long elevated stretch on Ferozepur Road carries through traffic above the busy section near Sarabha Nagar and the university. For homes and offices along the road, tell us which service lane your gate opens onto.
Ludhiana's main industrial estate, built in phases on the Delhi side of the city. Unit and office moves here are planned around shift hours and the loading bay, so the business loses as little working time as possible.
The old commercial heart, with narrow lanes of wholesale shops. Homes and godowns here are best reached early, before the bazaar fills with handcarts, rickshaws and two-wheelers.
The main railway station, next to the old city. The roads around it stay busy for most of the day, which affects moves from the colonies close by.
Punjab Agricultural University's campus sits along Ferozepur Road. Faculty homes inside need the university's permission for the truck to enter, arranged before the date.
Homes we move
The classic Ludhiana home is a big kothi built for a joint family, with each floor used by a different branch of the family. When only one household is moving, we pack floor by floor and mark each carton with the floor as well as the room, so nothing from a brother's floor leaves by mistake.
Furniture here is heavy. Solid wood beds, carved sofa sets, long dining tables and double-door almirahs are common, and some were assembled inside the room. We take apart what was built to come apart, bag the fittings with a label, and work out the route down the stairs before anything is lifted.
Newer towers along Ferozepur Road, Pakhowal Road and in South City work like apartment societies anywhere, with lift bookings, gate passes and fixed hours. In the older bazaars, many families live above their shops, with a steep staircase inside and a lane outside that no truck can use.
On the ground
Business stock gets its own inventory, cartons and labels. It is loaded apart from the household goods so it can be checked and unloaded on its own.
Commercial stock may need an invoice, delivery challan or e-way bill for the road, depending on what it is and where it is going. Your accountant can confirm what applies; we carry the papers you hand us with the load.
Old-city lanes are packed from mid-morning. We load early and, where the lane is too tight, use a smaller vehicle to reach the main truck.
A large kothi can be shifted over two or more days, one floor at a time, if the family is moving in stages. Tell us the plan and we will size each trip.
When to move
Winter fog is the biggest planning point. From about mid-December to the end of January, thick fog can cover NH-44 and the city roads until late morning. Local shifts still run, but long-distance trucks leave when the road clears, so allow an extra half day.
May and June are hot and dry, with the odd dust storm, so loading starts early and wraps up before the afternoon. The monsoon, roughly July to September, brings heavy spells; the load stays covered and we avoid loading in a downpour.
Two harvests shape the roads: wheat in April and paddy in October and November. Grain markets and the highways near them get busy with trucks and tractor-trolleys, and smoke haze can slow highway traffic on some autumn days. February and March are usually the calmest months for a Ludhiana move.

FAQ

Yes. Many families move one floor or one household at a time. We plan each trip separately, keep a running inventory across the trips, and label cartons by floor so the new house is set up in the right order.
It can, if the load allows, but it is packed, listed and loaded apart so it can be checked on its own. Commercial goods may need their own papers for the road, so please confirm with your accountant and give them to us before loading.
Yes. For Focal Point units we plan around your shift hours, pack machines, files and computers by section, and label everything for its place at the new site. If the new unit is not ready, stock can wait in storage. See our office relocation page for how a business move runs.
Usually, yes. It is about 100 km, so a small or medium home packed in the morning can often be unloaded in Chandigarh by evening. A large kothi may run into a second day.
We check each piece first. Beds, wardrobes and dining tables are taken apart where they were made to come apart, and the screws go in a labelled bag taped to the frame. Solid pieces that cannot be opened are wrapped in thick padding and carried with extra hands and straps.
No, but plan for it. Local shifts run as normal. On a long domestic move in December or January, the truck may leave later in the morning once the highway clears, so keep some slack in your arrival plans.
