  1. NH-44 and PAP Chowk

    NH-44, the Delhi–Amritsar highway, runs past Jalandhar, and PAP Chowk is the junction most drivers know. Loads for Ludhiana and Delhi head south-east from here, while the roads to Amritsar and Pathankot branch off to the west and north.

  2. Jalandhar City and Cantt stations

    The city has two main railway stations. The City station sits near the older centre, and the Cantt station serves the cantonment on the Phagwara side. Roads near both get busy around train times.

    Set up in 1848 beside the Grand Trunk Road, it is one of the oldest cantonments in India. Civilian trucks usually need permission to enter, and quarters are handed back on a fixed date, so we plan backwards from that day.
