Sector 56 is at the southern end of Golf Course Road, around the Sector 55–56 Rapid Metro station, where the line ends and Golf Course Extension Road carries on. HSVP plans it together with Sector 55, and plotted houses, builder floors and group-housing societies sit side by side, among them Kendriya Vihar, developed by the Central Government Employees Welfare Housing Organisation. A lot of the moves that start in this sector end close by: a bigger flat in Sector 57, a floor in Sector 55, or a new tower further down the Extension Road.

How Does a Short Move From Sector 56 Run?

A local move is won or lost on timing and on who does the work. This is how we plan it.

  1. One crew, both ends

    The same team packs, loads, drives, unloads and unpacks. Nothing is handed over to a second crew who has never seen your old home.

  2. An early start

    We aim to begin early so loading is done before the evening build-up on Golf Course Road. The pinch point is AIT Chowk, where Sectors 53 to 56 meet and GMDA has proposed an underpass.

  3. Where short hops go

    Common moves from here are to Sectors 55, 57 and 58, to the towers along Golf Course Extension Road and to DLF Phase 5. Most are short drives.

  4. Beds and wardrobes refitted

    Furniture we take apart is put back together at the new home the same day. Screws and brackets are bagged and taped to the piece they came from.

  5. Usable by the evening

Which Landmarks Point the Way to a Sector 56 Home?

  1. Shalom Presidency School

    The school's contact page puts it on Golf Course Extension Road in Sector 56, Sushant Lok II. It makes a clear marker for the homes behind the Extension Road, and we keep a loaded truck clear of its gate during morning arrival and afternoon dismissal.

  2. Sector 55–56 terminus

    Wikipedia gives the station the code S55 and an opening date of 31 March 2017; trains turn back here towards Phase 3, calling next at Sector 54 Chowk. Anyone coming to lend a hand can ride to the end of the line and walk over to meet the crew.

  3. Kendriya Vihar's Sahyog and Suvidha centres

    The residents' website lists two community centres, Sahyog and Suvidha, and three gates into the campus. Tell us the gate and the centre nearest your block, and the truck will not have to lap a campus of 39.4 acres looking for it.

Kendriya Vihar Flat Types and Sushant Lok II Floors

Kendriya Vihar is big and varied. Its residents' association counts 1,940 flats of seven types, built by CGEWHO in two phases with possession in 2000 and 2002. They range from 12 AA units of about 407 sq ft, a hall and a kitchen, to 178 DX flats of about 2,102 sq ft that come with a servant room and a garage. Quote your type letter when you call: it tells us more about the load than the bedroom count does.

Outside the campus, the houses along and behind the Extension Road belong to Sushant Lok II. Where one of them is let a floor at a time, the family upstairs may not be moving, so the stair and the gate are shared with them for the day.

What to Settle Before Shifting Within Sector 56

  • Read the end date on your rent agreement

    Section 17 of the Registration Act, 1908 makes registration compulsory for a lease running longer than a year or reserving a yearly rent. Whatever kind you signed, give notice against the date written in it, because the owner will line up the next tenant from that day, not from your truck booking.

  • Kendriya Vihar notices

    The campus website carries a notices and circulars section. Check it, or ask at the office, for shifting hours and gate instructions before you fix a date with us.

  • New keys before loading

    On a same-day hop, collect the keys to the new home before the truck is loaded. A crew that has cleared the old flat cannot unload into one that is still locked.

When to move

When Should You Book a Move in Sector 56?

A storm need not last long to stop a short move. On 5 September 2026, PTC News reported 36 mm of rain over Gurugram in a single hour and listed Golf Course Extension Road among the worst-hit stretches. For a date in August or September, keep the following morning free too.

Part of the water runs off the ridge. A March 2023 Tribune report placed one of four Aravalli creeks beside Golf Course Road at Sector 56 and blamed their run-off for flooding the road in the 2022 monsoon. After a wet night we drive the approach before loading anything.

Rent agreements tend to end with the calendar month, so the final days of a month book up first. A mid-month date leaves more choice of start time, and a society lift is easier to book when fewer neighbours are moving the same week.
