Moving to Sector 56 means settling into a mixed HSVP sector at the southern end of Golf Course Road, where plotted blocks, builder floors and apartment campuses such as Kendriya Vihar share the PIN code 122011 and the Rapid Metro has its last stop. Most first-week needs are inside the sector itself: two CBSE senior secondary schools on the board's register, an ICSE campus, a 110-bed hospital on Golf Course Extension Road and a HUDA market with the local police station listed beside it.
This guide covers settling in. The moving day itself is planned on our Sector 56 packers and movers page, and the rainy months have their own Sector 56 monsoon guide.
What kind of homes will you find in Sector 56?
A bit of everything, which is why newcomers find it hard to read. The HSVP demarcation plan lays out Sectors 55 and 56 as one scheme with both plotted and group-housing sites. In practice you will meet five kinds of home:
| Kind of home | Where you find it | What it means when you arrive |
|---|---|---|
| Flat in Kendriya Vihar | The CGEWHO campus run by an owners' association | Gate entry, a notices section online, community centres for events |
| Flat in a smaller society | Group-housing plots such as Abhas Apartment | A society office, a lift and visitor registers |
| Builder floor or plotted house | Lettered HSVP blocks; B, C, D and H all appear in local addresses | Your own entrance, a shared stair, parking in the lane |
| House or floor in Sushant Lok II | The strip along Golf Course Extension Road | A colony name on your papers instead of the sector number |
| New high-end flat | Recent launches such as TREVOC Royal Residences | Check the possession date before you plan anything |
Demand leans towards two-bedroom homes. On Square Yards' Sector 56 page, checked on 10 October 2026, 2 BHK homes drew 37% of buyer and renter interest, 3 BHK 24% and 4 BHK 13%. The same page put the average asking price near Rs 14,150 per sq ft and average rent at about Rs 35 per sq ft a month, a yield of 2.97% a year. On that average, a 1,200 sq ft flat would rent for around Rs 42,000 a month; real asking rents vary by block, floor and furnishing, so treat it as a starting point. The new launches sit far above it: Square Yards lists TREVOC Royal Residences at Rs 6.90–8.82 crore for three and four bedrooms.
Kendriya Vihar is the largest single campus. Its owners' association website describes a CGEWHO project with three gates and two community centres, and it keeps a notices and circulars section that a new tenant should read in the first week.
Which address will your papers show?
It depends on the block. Homes along the Extension Road often carry "Sushant Lok II" in the address, while the HSVP blocks use "Sector 56" with a block letter, and the society campuses use their own name. The PIN code is a second trap. Square Yards gives 122011, and both schools on the CBSE register use it, but a 2025 school list from Yellowslate prints 122001 and 122002 for two B Block addresses.
Write the block letter, the house or flat number and the colony or society name the same way on every form. Copy the PIN from your lease or deed when you update your bank, employer and gas agency records.
How do you get around by metro and by road?
By metro if you work along Golf Course Road or in Cyber City, and by road for the rest. The Sector 55–56 station is the southern end of the Rapid Metro and has been open since March 2017, so a resident can board at the start of the line. Square Yards puts Cyber City and the HUDA City Centre metro station each about 7 km away, and IGI Airport about 25 km.
More rail may come, but only on paper so far. Swarajya reported on 8 January 2026 that at a review meeting with NCRTC, GMRL and HSVP, GMDA proposed making Sector 56 a multi-modal hub where the Rapid Metro, the proposed Pachgaon line and a planned Sector 5 line meet. It also suggested linking the Gurugram–Faridabad RRTS with the Rapid Metro at Sector 56 rather than Sector 54. These were proposals needing further study, so check where they stand before you count on them.
The main road outside is also changing. On 3 May 2026 The Tribune reported that the contractor for widening Golf Course Extension Road to eight lanes had been mobilised, with drains, footpaths and lighting in the scope. Expect work zones on your commute for a while. For junction timings and the AIT Chowk pinch point, our Golf Course Road high-rise guide has the detail.
Which schools have a Sector 56 address?
At least six, across two boards. The first two below are on the CBSE affiliation register; the rest come from the school's own site or from Yellowslate's April 2025 list.
| School | Board | Where in the sector | What the source says |
|---|---|---|---|
| Shalom Presidency School | CBSE | D Block, Sushant Lok II, Golf Course Extension Road | Founded 2013; senior secondary; affiliation listed to 31 March 2028 |
| Suraj School | CBSE | Plot H1, near the HUDA market road (Yellowslate) | Founded 2017; senior secondary |
| Orchids The International School | ICSE | Near the Kendriya Vihar colony (Yellowslate) | Pre-nursery to Grade XII on the school's site |
| Amazon Public School | CBSE | B Block | Yellowslate list |
| Alpine Convent School | CBSE | B Block | Yellowslate list |
| Bharti International Convent School | CBSE | C Block | Yellowslate list |
Boards, classes and seats change between sessions, so confirm each one with the school before you sign a lease for its sake. Before moving day:
- To do: Get the seat and class confirmed in writing if you join mid-session
- To do: Collect the transfer certificate from the old school
- To do: Ask whether the school bus stops at your block or society gate
- To do: Write down when the school gates open and close, and keep the truck away at those hours
Which hospitals are closest to Sector 56?
One stands inside the sector. W Pratiksha Hospital's listed address is Golf Course Ext Road, Sushant Lok 2, Sector 56. A Bajaj Finserv Health listing gives it 110 beds, 20 of them in intensive care, with cardiology, nephrology, neurology, oncology, gynaecology and ophthalmology among its specialities and a separate emergency number. Marengo Asia Hospitals is on the same road and lists a 24x7 emergency helpline.
Tip
Save both hospitals' emergency numbers, plus 112, in every family phone before the first night, together with your block letter and gate. An ambulance driver needs "D Block, Sushant Lok II", or the Kendriya Vihar gate you use, not just "Sector 56".
Where will you shop, and where is the police station?
For daily needs, the HUDA market. Square Yards names it among the markets serving the sector, and several local addresses and directory listings use it as a landmark, so learn the way from your gate to it in the first days.
The police station sits close by. A Findeasy directory of Gurgaon police stations, last updated in April 2024, lists the Sector 55/56 Police Station near the HUDA market in Sector 56. Directories go out of date, so confirm the station for your block on the Haryana Police website or by calling 112.
Square Yards also collects resident comments, and two repeat ones are worth acting on: irregular water supply in summer and worn roads with potholes. Before you sign, ask the owner how big the overhead tank is, whether there is a booster pump, and what happened last May and June.
Which papers should a renter sort out in the first week?
Three groups of tasks: police, society and address.
- Tenant verification. Tenant checks can be requested online through Haryana Police; when we checked in October 2026 the fee shown was Rs 50, and either the owner or the tenant may apply. Check the current fee on the site. Do the same for a cook, driver or domestic help before they start.
- Society registration. In Kendriya Vihar or any society, register your family and vehicles at the office, ask for the move-in permission you need, and read the notices section for water and maintenance schedules.
- Address changes. Bank, employer, gas agency and children's school records. Use the exact block and PIN on your lease.
Week-one checklist:
- To do: Tenant verification filed, with a copy kept
- To do: Meter readings and the handover state of the home written into the rent agreement
- To do: Owner's answer on the water tank, pump and summer supply
- To do: Society registration and vehicle stickers done
- To do: New address sent to the bank and the gas agency
What do movers need to know about your Sector 56 home?
Tell them which of the five kinds of home you are going to, because each runs differently. A society flat needs a lift booking and a truck slot at the gate; a builder floor needs the crew to carry by stair and the truck to wait in the lane; a Kendriya Vihar address needs the right gate. If both homes are in societies, we line up both sets of rules so the truck is not held at the second gate, as our Sector 56 page explains.
Our October 2026 ranges for a move that stays inside Gurgaon run from Rs 4,500 to 7,000 (1 BHK) through Rs 8,000 to 12,500 (2 BHK) to Rs 12,000 to 15,000 (3 BHK). Our Gurgaon charges guide explains what pushes a quote up or down, and household shifting lists what packing and loading involve. Still choosing between this sector and its neighbour? Key takeaway
Sector 56 gives a newcomer the Rapid Metro's first station, two CBSE schools and an ICSE campus, a hospital on the Extension Road and a HUDA market, all within the sector. Learn your block letter and PIN, ask about summer water, and treat the new metro hub as a proposal until it is approved.
