A move into or out of a tower on Golf Course Road or Golf Course Extension Road is paced by the building more than the road: book the service lift (and the loading bay, if the tower has one) for the whole slot, get the gate pass and any deposit terms in writing, and send the truck when AIT Chowk is not jammed. Lift time matters because the towers are tall: Wikipedia's list of Gurgaon's tallest buildings gives DLF Camellias in Sector 42 at 40 floors and Ireo Skyon in Sector 60 at 39.
Which sectors are on Golf Course Road and Golf Course Extension Road?
Golf Course Road covers Sectors 42, 43 and 53 to 56, and the Extension Road carries on through Sectors 58 to 67. MyGate's neighbourhood guide describes Golf Course Road as running from Bristol Chowk, near Sector 26, to the start of the Extension Road near Sector 56, through DLF Phases 1 and 5 on the way. The Tribune describes the Extension Road as the link between Sohna Road and Golf Course Road, serving Sectors 58 to 67.
| Sectors | Road | Nearest Rapid Metro station | Moving notes on our site |
|---|---|---|---|
| 42–43 | Golf Course Road | Sector 42-43 | Sector 43 |
| 53–54 | Golf Course Road | Sector 53-54, Sector 54 Chowk | Sector 53, Sector 54 |
| 55–56 | Southern end of Golf Course Road | Sector 55–56 (end of the line) | Sector 55, Sector 56 |
| 57 | Next to Sectors 55–56 | Sector 55–56 | Sector 57 |
| 58–62 | Golf Course Extension Road | None yet | 58, 59, 60, 61, 62 |
DLF's own compliance report for DLF City Phase V names its sectors as 42, 43, 53 and 54, so an address that says "DLF Phase 5" is usually one of those four. For the road as a whole, see our page on packers and movers for Golf Course Road.
How do you book the service lift and loading bay in a tower?
You book them through the tower's facility or estate office, usually in your own name as the resident. We could not find a Golf Course Road society that publishes its moving rules online, so the closest thing to a written standard is general guidance. NoBrokerHood, which makes software that housing societies use to run their gates and bookings, says residents are required to book the service or cargo lift in advance for furniture and heavy appliances, and that most societies limit moves to set hours, usually 9 am to 6 pm on weekdays. Treat that as a starting point, not as your tower's rule.
What to settle with the facility desk, in our experience of high-rise moves:
- The lift for the whole slot. A family home takes many lift runs, and a lift shared with other residents between runs stretches the day.
- The lift's inside size. Measure the car's depth, width and door height, then compare them with your longest sofa, wardrobe panels and mattress. Anything that will not fit is taken apart before it leaves the flat.
- Lift protection. Ask whether the society pads the lift itself or wants the mover to.
- The loading point. Some towers load at a basement bay, others at a podium or the tower lobby. Ask where the truck should stand and whether its height clears the basement ramp.
- Both ends. If you are moving from one tower to another, book both lifts for overlapping times.
What charges, deposits and gate passes should you expect?
Expect some mix of a gate pass, a move-in or move-out approval, and possibly a fee or a refundable deposit, set by each society. NoBrokerHood says shifting charges typically range from Rs 1,000 to Rs 10,000, should be approved in the society's bye-laws or by a general body resolution, and should not differ between residents without good reason. It adds that some complexes ask for a refundable damage deposit instead, held against accidental damage.
For the gate, the facility desk will usually want the truck number, the date and slot, and the crew's names. Tenants are often asked for the owner's written consent, and a move-out pass may wait until maintenance dues are cleared. None of this is uniform, so ask for the list in writing and send it to your mover.
Tip
Ask one more question: if the lift breaks down or it rains hard on the day, can the slot be moved without losing the deposit or fee?
What does a move to a Golf Course Road flat cost?
Inside Gurgaon, the price ranges we publish (October 2026) start at Rs 4,500 to Rs 7,000 for a 1 BHK, rise to Rs 8,000 to Rs 12,500 for a 2 BHK, and reach Rs 12,000 to Rs 15,000 for a 3 BHK; the full table is on the page for our packers and movers in Gurgaon. Fees or deposits the society asks for are paid to the society, not to us. In a tower, the main things that move the price within those ranges are lift waiting time, the distance from the lift to the truck, and how much furniture has to be taken apart to fit the lift. Your written quote follows a survey; see household shifting for what the service includes.
When should the truck travel, and where does AIT Chowk fit in?
Plan the truck's arrival after the morning office rush and its departure before the evening one. The Tribune reported in May 2025 that AIT Chowk, where Sectors 53 to 56 meet, carries traffic coming off Cyber City, MG Road and Golf Course Road, and that "signal controlled traffic at this roundabout results in long snarls during peak hours". GMDA had prepared an underpass proposal that was still awaiting approval, with no timeline given, so assume the junction stays signal-controlled for now.
On the Extension Road, GMDA has begun widening the road to eight lanes with drains on both sides, and The Tribune's May 2026 report says a traffic management plan was drafted for the works. Expect diversions and narrowed lanes near the work sites, and have your mover recheck the route to your tower shortly before the day.
Can you use the Rapid Metro on moving day?
Yes, if your flat is on Golf Course Road itself; the Extension Road has no metro yet. Wikipedia's Rapid Metro article lists four stations along the road (Sector 42-43, Sector 53-54, Sector 54 Chowk and Sector 55–56), says trains run from 06:05 to 22:00 at four-minute intervals, and notes that operations passed to Gurugram Metro in 2024. That is useful if you travel to the new flat ahead of the truck, or send family members on while the crew loads. Further south, the Gurugram Metro article says a project report for a 35.5 km extension from Sector 55–56 towards Pachgaon lists stations at Sectors 61, 62 and 66, with construction planned to begin in 2029.
How does the monsoon affect a Golf Course Road move?
Both roads have a record of flooding, so a move between late June and September needs a spare day. In August 2025, The Tribune listed Golf Course Road and Golf Course Extension among about 100 places that waterlog again and again, despite the Rs 500 crore the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram has allocated to the problem since 2016. Other reports bear it out:
- 5 September 2024: The Tribune recorded 62 mm in the city and named the Extension Road and the Sector 56 road among the stretches that were waterlogged or jammed, with congestion lasting hours after the rain stopped.
- July 2024: in a report on a minister's visit, The Tribune said water got into the basements and lower floors of several homes in Sectors 55, 56 and 57.
- 7 July 2026: in that season's opening downpour, the Extension Road and Vatika Chowk were among the jammed roads.
- 11 July 2026: when 115 mm fell over 33 hours, The Tribune counted DLF Phases 1 to 5, which take in the Golf Course Road sectors of Phase 5, as one of the hardest-hit locations.
For a tower move, the risk is less the flat than the route and the loading point: a flooded basement ramp can close a loading bay. Ask the facility desk where the truck should load if the basement takes water, and keep cartons off the floor while they wait. If the new flat is not ready in time, goods can wait in storage.
What is the checklist for a high-rise move on Golf Course Road?
| When | What to do | Who does it |
|---|---|---|
| As soon as the date is fixed | Ask both facility desks for their move rules, notice period, hours and any fee or deposit, in writing | You |
| 2–3 weeks before | Book the service lift for the full slot at both ends, and the loading bay if there is one | You |
| 2 weeks before | Survey of your goods, lift size and loading point; written quote | Mover |
| 1 week before | Send the gate-pass details: truck number, date, slot and crew names; get the owner's consent if you rent | You and mover |
| 1 week before | Clear maintenance dues at the old tower if the move-out pass depends on it | You |
| 2 days before | Check the forecast and the route past AIT Chowk or the Extension Road works | Mover |
| Moving day | Pad the lift, load in the booked slot, walk the corridors with the guard before leaving | Mover |
| After the move | Ask for any refundable deposit back, with the facility desk's sign-off | You |
Key takeaway
In a Golf Course Road tower, the lift booking and the gate list decide how smoothly the day runs. Get both in writing before you fix the truck.
Once your society has given you a slot, send it to us with your quote request, and we will fit the crew size and start time to it.
This guide is general information, not a statement of any society's rules. Facility-desk policies, GMDA works and metro timelines change, so confirm them with your society and the authorities before you act.
