Sector 55 is an HSVP sector (the authority was called HUDA until its 2017 renaming), planned together with Sector 56. HSVP's demarcation plan for Sectors 55–56 shows residential plots of several sizes alongside group-housing society sites. This page is about the plotted side, where many of the homes we move are builder floors, with a different family or tenant on each level. A few newer buildings have a small lift. Plenty of older ones do not, and their staircases are often narrow, with a tight turn at every landing.

Sector 55 sits at the southern end of Golf Course Road. The Rapid Metro ends at its Sector 55–56 station, and DLF describes its signal-free road network as reaching the Sector 55/56 rotary, where Golf Course Extension Road begins. The planned metro extension towards Pachgaon starts from that same station, although the Gurugram Metro plan does not have building work beginning until 2029. One caution for the rainy months: The Tribune lists both Golf Course Road and Golf Course Extension Road among stretches that waterlog year after year, so a monsoon move from a builder floor here gets plastic-wrapped mattresses and sofas and a dry spot by the gate to stage them.

That makes a move here mostly a carrying job. A three-seater sofa, a double bed or a steel almirah has to go down by hand. We look at the stairs before moving day, decide what must be taken apart, and pack books and kitchenware in smaller cartons that one person can carry safely. On a top floor, that planning is what keeps the day on schedule.

How Do You Move a Sector 55 Builder Floor Without a Lift?

Plotted streets and walk-up floors need a different plan from a tower. Here is what we work through with you.

  1. Walk-up builder floors

    A second, third or fourth floor without a lift means every item is carried. We add hands for upper floors so no one person carries too much for too long.

  2. Tight landings

    We check the width at each turn before the day. Beds, wardrobes and some sofas come apart, and glass tops travel on their own in padding.

  3. Loading from the street

    The truck parks at your gate or as close as the street allows. Where a big vehicle cannot turn in, a canter ferries goods to it on the wider road.

  4. Stilt level and store room

    Many plots keep a spare fridge, a cooler or old trunks in the stilt parking or a store room. Tell us about them so they are counted in the quote.

  5. Terrace and balcony items

    Potted plants, a swing or outdoor chairs take time to bring down. Plants need their own wrapping and a spot near the truck door so they are not crushed.

Which Stations and Landmarks Guide a Truck to Sector 55?

Drivers heading down Golf Course Road need fixed points before the turn into the plotted blocks. These are the ones we pass on.

  1. Sector 54 Chowk Rapid Metro station

    Wikipedia lists this elevated stop under the station code AIT, after the chowk it stands over, and dates its opening to 31 March 2017. Southbound, it is the last stop before the terminus, so a driver told to pass it knows our turning is close.

  2. Sector 53–54 station

    One stop further north, this station opened a few weeks after the rest of the line, on 25 April 2017, according to Wikipedia. A relative coming to help from the Cyber City end can count two stops past it and get off at Sector 55–56.

  3. Gurugram Public School

    This CBSE school, founded in 2001, gives its address on Wikipedia as Plot No. 5, Sushant Lok II, Sector 55. We keep the truck away from its gate at drop-off and home time, when the road outside is at its busiest.

  4. Aravalli creek at Sector 54

    In March 2023 The Tribune reported orders to clean four natural creeks near Golf Course Road, at Sectors 26, 42, 54 and 56, whose run-off had flooded the road in the previous year's rains. Sector 55 sits between the last two, so after a downpour we check the main road before the truck sets off.

Homes we move

Co-operative Societies and Floors With Small Lifts

The group-housing plots on the HSVP plan include co-operative societies. Square Yards' sector listing names Oasis Apartments, Siddhi Vinayak Apartments and Sagavi Apartment among them. In a society run by its own managing committee, ask the office who signs the gate pass and which hours it allows for shifting, and get both in writing.

Some newer builder floors have a compact lift fitted by the owner. The Haryana Lifts and Escalators Act, 2008 requires every lift to be registered with the state inspector, kept under a yearly maintenance arrangement and fitted with an automatic rescue device that brings the car to the nearest landing in a power cut. Even so, a small cabin takes our cartons only; sofas, beds and almirahs still go by the stairs.

What to Sort Out Before a Sector 55 Moving Day

  • Final electricity bill

    If your floor has its own DHBVN meter, request the final bill and disconnection on the DHBVN e-connection portal a few days ahead, then photograph the meter with the owner on the last morning.

  • Both versions of the address

    A plot here may be written as an HSVP plot in Sector 55 or as a Sushant Lok II block. Send us both, plus a nearby metro pillar number if you know one, and the driver will not have to circle the blocks.

  • Inverter and batteries

    Get the electrician to disconnect the inverter the day before. Batteries are heavy and hold acid, so they travel upright in a crate of their own, never on their side among the cartons.

When Is the Best Time to Move a Sector 55 Floor?

Hot nights make June harder than the daytime high suggests. On 18 June 2024 The Tribune reported an IMD red alert for Gurugram after a maximum of 45.1 °C and a night-time low of 32.2 °C, with advice to stay in during the afternoon. A carry down four flights in that heat starts at first light and stops before midday.

For families with school children, March is the month to aim for. Gurugram Public School follows the CBSE year, and The Tribune reported Haryana's session already running by 5 April 2025, so finishing the move before April lets the term begin from the new home.

We measure first. Legs and back cushions come off, and the frame is wrapped and carried on its end if needed. If it still will not clear a landing, we tell you before moving day, not on it.
