Moving to Sector 55 means settling into an HSVP sector where Golf Course Road ends and its Extension begins, with a dozen small group-housing societies stand beside plotted builder floors and the whole sector shares the PIN code 122011. For a family or renter, the first week is easy to cover from here: the last station of the Rapid Metro is a short walk away, a CBSE senior secondary school sits inside the sector, and banks, clinics and shops are spread along Golf Course Road and its Extension.

What follows covers the first weeks after you arrive. Stairs, street loading and the truck are planned on our Sector 55 packers and movers page, and wet or hot months on the Sector 55 monsoon guide. The sector next door has its own Sector 56 newcomer's guide, and much of what it says about hospitals and police applies here too.

Which homes can you rent or buy in Sector 55?

Two kinds, mainly: flats in small societies and floors or houses on HSVP plots. The HSVP demarcation plan draws Sectors 55 and 56 as one scheme, with group-housing sites set among residential plots. Square Yards' Sector 55 page names the societies, among them Paarth Apartments, Oasis Apartments, Siddhi Vinayak Apartments, Sagavi Apartment, Vishranti Progressive Apartment, Karam Hi Dharam Apartment, Ansal Royale Casa and Chandra Apartments. NoBroker's rental listings add Pragati Apartments and a Progressive Society flat.

Kind of home Where it is Ask before you sign
Flat in a small society The group-housing plots named above Who runs the office, whether there is a lift, how parking stickers are issued
Builder floor HSVP plots, often written as Sushant Lok II Which floor, lift or stairs, who shares the entrance
Independent house Plotted streets; NoBroker lists houses from 1 to 4 BHK Tank size, borewell or supply line, store rooms
New launch sold "near Sector 55" Golf Course Extension Road Which sector the project is really in

The last row matters because the same Square Yards page groups its listings by micromarket, so under-construction projects from builders such as Godrej, M3M and Adani appear beside the older Sector 55 societies. Before you count on a flat being "in Sector 55", check the sector written on its RERA registration and allotment papers.

How much does it cost to rent in Sector 55?

It depends heavily on the kind of home, and the spread is wide. NoBroker's Sector 55 rental page, checked on 16 October 2026, gave these ranges from its live listings:

Home Typical size Monthly rent (NoBroker, October 2026)
1 RK or studio 144–300 sq ft Rs 7,000–25,000
1 BHK 400–650 sq ft Rs 25,000–60,000
2 BHK 1,000–1,700 sq ft Rs 15,000–52,500
3 BHK 1,350–2,400 sq ft Rs 40,000–80,000
4 BHK 1,690–2,800 sq ft Rs 55,000–90,000

The 1 BHK band reaching above the 2 BHK band is not a typo: NoBroker links the top of the 1 BHK range to premium blocks and fully furnished homes, and says 2 BHK rents move with amenities, the water source (municipal supply or borewell) and whether the home is in a society. Ranges built from listings change from month to month, so use them to judge an asking rent, not to fix one.

Residents' reviews on Square Yards point the same way: they praise the metro, schools and shops nearby but list low rental yield and high rents among the concerns.

Which address and PIN will your papers show?

Square Yards puts Sector 55 in the 122011 postal zone. The colony name is the part that varies. The CBSE register writes Gurugram Public School's address as "Plot No 5, Sector 55, Sushant Lok II", and many floors on the plotted side use the same pair of names.

Pick one form, exactly as your lease writes it, and use it everywhere: bank, employer, gas agency, school and delivery apps. If the lease says only "Sushant Lok II", ask the owner for the sector and plot number too, because a stranger looking for the address will need both. Our comparison of Sushant Lok 1, 2 and 3 explains how that colony spreads over more than one sector.

How do you get around by metro and road?

Metro. Square Yards measures the Sector 55–56 Rapid Metro station at about 450 m from the sector. According to Wikipedia, the line has 11 stations over 12.85 km, links with the Yellow Line at Sikanderpur, and runs from 06:05 to 22:00 with a train every four minutes. Timetables change, so check the current one before relying on the first or last train.

The line is changing hands. In September 2025 The Tribune reported that the state transit corporation, HMRTC, had begun moving operations from DMRC to Gurugram Metro Rail Limited, with the two running it jointly until the handover is done. Use is rising: Construction World reported on 13 October 2026 that the Rapid Metro carried 8,881,000 passengers from April to August 2026, 11.62% more than a year earlier. The same report said a 35.25 km elevated line from Sector 56 to Panchgaon, with 28 stations, was in its final approval stage. Until building starts, treat it as a plan.

Road. Square Yards gives these distances: about 6 km to the HUDA City Centre metro station, 9 km to Cyber City, 12 km to Gurgaon railway station and 17 km to IGI Airport. The junction that sets your commute is AIT Chowk. The Tribune wrote in May 2025 that the junction links Sectors 53, 54, 55 and 56 and takes flows from MG Road, Cyber City and Golf Course Road; GMDA had prepared an underpass proposal that was yet to be approved. We had not seen a report of approval or work starting when we checked in October 2026.

Which schools can your children reach?

One senior secondary school has a Sector 55 address on the board's own register:

School What the CBSE record shows
Gurugram Public School Affiliation no. 530417; Plot No. 5, Sector 55, Sushant Lok II; founded 2001; senior secondary; independent school; affiliation from 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2030

Square Yards also lists Unicosmos School about 0.2 km from the sector and several schools in neighbouring sectors. More are listed with Sector 56 addresses, and our Sector 56 guide checks two of them against the CBSE register. Board, classes and seats change by session, so confirm with each school before you choose a home for its sake.

  • To do: Get a mid-session admission confirmed by letter or email, with the class named
  • To do: Request the transfer certificate early; some schools take a week to issue it
  • To do: Check which bus route serves your society or street, and where it stops
  • To do: Keep the truck away from the school road at opening and closing time

Where are the nearest hospitals, banks and shops?

Close by, but mostly along the main roads rather than inside the residential blocks. Square Yards' list of nearby places puts an HDFC Bank branch and the Navkriti Shopping Complex about 0.2 km away, and Uma Sanjeevani Hospital and an Indian Bank branch about 0.3 km away. Its hospital list also names W Pratiksha Hospital in Sector 56, on the Extension Road, which our Sector 56 guide describes in more detail. The resident reviews single out a Sodhi's supermarket for daily shopping.

Tip

Not every place called a hospital runs a 24-hour emergency department. In your first week, call the nearest two and ask, then save their emergency numbers and 112 in every family phone, together with your society name or plot number.

What should renters check before signing?

Three things that the listings do not tell you.

Water. Square Yards' resident reviews, from 2022 to 2024, mention summer water shortages, waterlogging and sewage problems. Ask the owner whether the home runs on municipal supply, a borewell or both, how big the overhead tank is, and what happened last June. Our monsoon guide covers the rain side.

Noise. The same reviews mention traffic noise and noise from the elevated Rapid Metro. Visit at the evening peak if your flat faces Golf Course Road or the line.

The plot next door. On 4 January 2026 Amar Ujala reported that residents of Paarth Apartments had complained for four years about an empty plot beside Golf Course Road that had become a dump for garbage and construction waste. We have not seen a later report on whether it was cleared, so if you are looking at a flat on that side, go and see for yourself.

Which papers should you sort out in the first week?

  • Police verification. Get your tenancy, and any domestic worker you hire, verified with the police. Our Sector 56 guide explains how to apply; check the current fee before you pay.
  • Society registration. In a society, give the office your family's details and vehicle numbers, and ask how it issues parking stickers and visitor passes.
  • Meter readings. Note the electricity and water meter readings at handover and write them into the rent agreement.
  • Address changes. Bank, employer, gas agency and school records, in the one address form you chose.

What should movers know about your Sector 55 home?

The floor and the stairs. Many plotted homes here have no lift, so the crew carries everything, and a society flat may need a lift booking and a slot at the gate. When you ask for a quote, describe both homes: floor, lift or stairs, and any store room.

Gurgaon-to-Gurgaon moves are priced on the owner's ranges, last revised in October 2026 and set out in the FAQ below; the floor and the stairs decide where a home falls within them. Our guide to Gurgaon moving charges explains why quotes differ, and household shifting covers packing, loading and refitting. Coming from a tower across AIT Chowk? Our Sector 54 page covers that end of the move.

Key takeaway

Sector 55 gives a newcomer small societies and plotted floors under one PIN, 122011, with the Rapid Metro terminus and a CBSE school close by. Check rents against October 2026 listings, ask about water and the surroundings before you sign, and treat the new metro line and the AIT Chowk underpass as plans until work starts.

Once the keys and a moving date are settled, share the two addresses with us and we will reply with a written quote.

We have written this as general information from the sources listed below it. Rents, admissions, metro timings and road plans change often, so check anything you plan around with the landlord, the school or the authority concerned.
