DLF Phase 4 is part of DLF City, the township DLF built in central Gurgaon, and carries the PIN code 122009. It borders DLF Phase 1, DLF Phase 2 and Sector 43 (NoBroker), and its best-known landmark is Galleria Market, an open-air shopping street of cafés, restaurants and boutiques. Part of the colony stands on land that once belonged to Chakkarpur, the old village that still sits beside it along MG Road (Wikipedia).
That history shows in the housing. On the DLF blocks, plotted houses and builder floors stand on quiet streets, and the upper floors are often reached by a single staircase. Group-housing societies such as Ridgewood Estate and Hamilton Court have towers, a guarded gate and lifts. In Chakkarpur, many buildings are let as PG rooms and small rented flats. A move here can start at any of the three, so we ask which one before we choose the vehicle.
What they share is the traffic. The roads that feed Galleria Market and Supermart 1 slow down at peak hours, and parking near the shops is tight, so we like to load early and leave before the market fills.
