House shifting in South City 1 (Sector 41) costs Rs 4,500–7,000 for one bedroom, Rs 8,000–12,500 for two and Rs 12,000–15,000 for three when both homes are in Gurgaon, on the indicative bands the owner fixed in October 2026; a load bound for Delhi or Noida sits a step higher. Inside those bands, crew time sets your figure, and in this colony that time goes on large old floors, rebuilt blocks with more levels, the lane outside the plot and the exit the truck takes to NH-48.
Here we deal with money, crew time and access, nothing else. Schools, PIN codes and first-week paperwork are in our South City 1 newcomer's guide, and the rain and heat record is in the South City 1 monsoon post.
What does a South City 1 move cost in October 2026?
These ranges come from the owner and also appear on our packers and movers in Gurgaon page. Pick the column by where the other home is:
| Size of home | Other home in Gurgaon | Other home in Delhi | Other home in Noida |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 BHK | Rs 4,500–7,000 | Rs 7,000–8,000 | Rs 8,000–10,000 |
| 2 BHK | Rs 8,000–12,500 | Rs 10,000–13,500 | Rs 10,000–14,000 |
| 3 BHK | Rs 12,000–15,000 | Rs 14,000–16,500 | Rs 14,000–18,500 |
A car carried on a truck within 50 km is Rs 9,000–11,500, and a bike or scooter Rs 3,000–7,000. Treat each range as a starting point; your written figure comes after we survey the home.
The table stops at three bedrooms, and many South City 1 homes do not. Unitech's published floor plans for South City 1 start at 160 and reach 420 square metres, so a whole floor or house here can hold far more than a typical 3 BHK. Those homes are priced once the contents are counted. If you are leaving a big house for a smaller flat, deciding what stays behind is the biggest saving of all, which is why our area page puts sorting first. Society flat or floor on a plot: why does it change the hours?
Because the bottleneck is different. Unitech's township page lists apartments, plots and private villas in the colony; its apartment complexes are The World Spa, Uniworld City and The Palms. Everything else is mostly lettered blocks of plots.
| Flat in an apartment complex | Floor or house on a plotted lane | |
|---|---|---|
| What sets the pace | The lift slot the society office gives you | The stairs, and the walk between the door and the truck |
| Who to tell | The complex's maintenance office | The block guard, and the other owners in your building |
| Where the truck stands | Wherever the office directs | In the block lane, outside your plot |
| Typical hold-up | A shared service lift, or a short slot | A long carry, or a car parked across the gate |
Plots have also been getting taller. From July 2024, plots in Haryana may rise to stilt plus four storeys, freely where the layout allows four dwelling units and only on conditions where it allows three, according to The Hans India. In such a block the top home is five levels above the lane. A lift helps only if a wardrobe fits in it, so we measure the car before we count on it.
Where does the crew's time go on a plotted floor?
Mostly on the parts of the day that have nothing to do with distance:
| Stage | What slows it in South City 1 | How to speed it up |
|---|---|---|
| Finding the plot | Unitech's board places the colony across Sectors 30, 40 and 41, so a sector number alone can mislead a driver | Share the block, the plot and a nearby landmark |
| The barrier | A guard may log the truck before letting it into the block | Give the guard the truck number and your phone number the day before |
| The lane | Block roads measure 9 or 12 metres, and the truck has to leave room for traffic | Ask the neighbours not to park in front of your plot |
| The stairs | Older floors without a lift, or a top floor in a rebuilt block | Mention the floor and any lift |
| Old furniture | Solid beds and cabinets built decades ago come apart slowly | Empty them the night before |
| What to keep | Sorting on the day stalls the packers | Mark items to move, store or give away beforehand |
The 9 and 12 metre widths come from PropNewsTime's June 2025 report on blocks C to M, and the three sectors from the January 2026 notice of Unitech's government-appointed board.
Can a block gate keep the truck out?
In daylight it should not. South City 1 has been at the centre of Gurugram's drive against locked gates on colony roads:
- February 2025. The town planning department, backed by police, pulled down unauthorised gates in South City 1 and in Sushant Lok 1 on Saturday 8 February after complaints to the Chief Minister's Window, PropNewsTime reported. The same report said a Deputy Commissioner had directed that steel and iron gates across the inner roads of licensed colonies, and of HSVP sectors, be left open through the day, with boom barriers allowed only if guards man them round the clock under CCTV. Permission for a barrier rests with a committee chaired by the Deputy Commissioner.
- June 2025. Ten more gates came down after the 51 already removed, and the colony's RWA took down 15 of its own accord, The Architecture and Planning News wrote on 11 June. Officials said again that town planning rules leave no room for permanent gates.
So expect a barrier and a guard, not a locked gate. A guard may still ask who the truck is for, and a ready answer saves the crew a wait at the entrance. Rules on the Sushant Lok side are set out in our Sushant Lok 1 rules guide.
When can the truck run, and which works are on the way?
Plan the day around the city's two restricted windows. A Gurugram Traffic Police Digi Pass note, hosted on GMDA's site, bars goods vehicles from designated roads in two spells: 8 am to 10 am, then 5 pm to 9 pm. It is undated, so check it still applies before booking; a truck that arrives after ten and is loaded and away before five avoids both.
Then check the works around the colony in the week of the move:
- Inside the colony. The MCG committee that handles finance and contracts approved road, drinking water, sewer and drain works for South City-1 on 28 July 2026, one of 26 projects, The Tribune reported. A dug lane means a longer carry, so ask a neighbour or send us a photo.
- The metro corridor. Phase 1 of the Gurugram metro, from Millennium City Centre to Sector 9, is under construction, Amar Ujala reported on 2 August 2026.
- A flyover at the colony's corner. On 29 May 2026 GMDA officials said they planned three flyovers on the road from Millennium City Centre to Bakhtawar Chowk, one of them at the junction of Sectors 30 and 41, Swarajya reported. The plan still needed board clearance and a detailed project report, and we found no dated report of work starting. Check before you rely on that junction.
- Cyber Park junction. GMDA planned to rebuild the Sector 39 crossing at Cyber Park on Netaji Subhash Marg, the road to Subhash Chowk, with tenders due in April 2026, Swarajya reported. It lies on the route to Sohna Road.
On a rainy day, IFFCO Chowk and Signature Tower are the two exits to watch; the monsoon post linked above lists what has gone wrong at each.
What does a Delhi-bound load add?
Three things beyond the higher band:
- Delhi's entry charge. The Environment Compensation Charge rose to Rs 2,000 a trip for light commercial vehicles and two-axle trucks from 1 April 2026, and to Rs 4,000 for three-axle and heavier ones, The Tribune reported on 9 May. Ask whether the Delhi figure you are given includes it.
- The truck's engine. Delhi's leeway for out-of-state BS-IV goods vehicles was due to end on 31 October 2026, WION said in a report of 30 September. For a November move, ask whether the truck is BS-VI, CNG, LNG or electric, and check the rule again that week.
- Delhi's own hours. A goods vehicle that has to use Delhi's restricted roads in restricted hours needs a pass, the No Entry Permission, from Delhi Traffic Police.
Routes and papers for that run are in our Delhi–Gurgaon moving guide.
What if the other home is a neighbouring colony or sector?
The Gurgaon band holds for all of these. The building at the other end decides the extra hours.
| Other home | Our page | What to check first |
|---|---|---|
| Sushant Lok 1 | Sushant Lok 1 | Rebuilt blocks split into rooms; small loads, narrow stairs |
| Sector 40 | Sector 40 | HUDA houses and floors; the market's busy hours |
| Sector 31 | Sector 31 | Bylanes lined with parked cars |
| Sector 43 | Sector 43 | Builder floors, or a flat in the Power Grid Township |
| Sector 45 | Sector 45 | Stilt-plus-four floors replacing old houses |
| South City 2 | South City 2 | The far side of Subhash Chowk; floors on lettered blocks |
If the new home is late, our warehouse can hold the goods, and household shifting lists what packing and unpacking include. For the older lanes shared with Sushant Lok, read our post on stairs, lanes and rain in the two colonies.
How can you keep a South City 1 quote down?
Cut the waiting, a week ahead:
- To do: Share your block letter, plot number, floor and a landmark close by
- To do: Say whether it is a flat in a complex or a floor on a plot, and whether there is a lift
- To do: For a complex, book the lift slot in writing at both ends
- To do: Give the block guard the date and truck number
- To do: Ask the neighbours not to park in front of your plot that morning
- To do: Decide what moves, what is stored and what is given away before packing day
- To do: Check the lane for MCG digging and the corner junctions for metro or flyover work
- To do: For Delhi, confirm the entry charge and the truck's emission class
Key takeaway
Using the owner's ranges from October 2026, moving a South City 1 home within Gurgaon costs from Rs 4,500 to Rs 15,000 for one to three bedrooms, and a Delhi run from Rs 7,000 to Rs 16,500. Big floors are priced after a survey. The lift or the stairs, the lane, the guarded barrier, the two truck windows and the works on the colony's edges decide where your figure lands.
How we work in the colony is explained on the page for packers and movers in South City 1. With both addresses and floors in hand, ask for a written quote.
General information only, checked on 19 October 2026. Our bands are indicative ranges set by the owner and do not replace a written quote; gate orders, traffic rules, entry charges and road works change, so confirm each before the day.
