What is different about moving from Sector 10?

Most sectors in Dwarka are residential first. Sector 10 also has the Dwarka Courts Complex, opened in September 2008 next to the Dwarka Sector 10 metro station, with two seven-storey court blocks and an eight-storey lawyers' chamber building. DTC buses stop at a halt named Dwarka District Court. Expect more cars, autos and people on foot near the complex on working days, and keep that in mind when you choose a moving date.

The homes themselves are mostly in group housing. The Dwarka Homes directory lists societies on Plots 1 to 42, such as IIT Engineers on Plot 12, Godrej Apartment on Plot 14 and Elephanta Heights on Plot 41, plus one DDA pocket, Harsh Apartment, with Self Financing Scheme flats. Venkateshwar International School is also in the sector.

We start with the society office, the floor and whether there is a lift, then choose the day. A Saturday or holiday move can avoid the court traffic, if your society allows it. Four Things That Shape a Sector 10 Move

    Roads around the court complex tend to fill on working days. Where your society permits it, a weekend or holiday slot makes loading calmer.

  2. Society by plot number

    With more than forty society plots, two neighbouring towers can have different committees and rules. We note your plot number and follow your own society's process.

  3. Wet-weather cover

    Dwarka City reported recurring water accumulation in Sector 10 in July 2025. In the monsoon, upholstery and mattresses travel in plastic sheeting.

  4. Unpacking at the other end

Finding your way

Sector 10 Landmarks That Set the Moving Route

The court complex shapes weekday traffic here, but these other points decide just as much about where the truck goes and when.

  1. Indira Gandhi Hospital, Sector 9

    The district lists Indira Gandhi Hospital in Dwarka Sector 9, whose station is one Blue Line stop west of Sector 10. If our route passes the hospital, we allow for ambulances and visitor parking and do not stop near its gates.

  2. A sector full of schools

    Besides Venkateshwar, the district school directory lists G. D. Goenka Public School, Shreeram World School, Vandana International School, Indraprastha International, Saraswati Model School and a government RPVV in Sector 10. With that many gates, we plan loading for the middle of the day.

  3. Dwarka Court on the waterlogging list

    In May 2026 the Lieutenant Governor told the DDA to finish desilting and anti-waterlogging work by 15 June at 11 sites, and The Tribune named Dwarka Court among them. After heavy rain we check the court-side roads before sending a truck that way.

  4. The planned mini secretariat

    Dwarka City reported in August 2026 that Delhi's first mini secretariat is planned in Sector 10, expected to be completed within 18 months. Once building starts, site vehicles will share the sector's roads, and we will look at the approach on the survey visit.

Homes we move

Group Housing Towers and Harsh Apartment in Sector 10

Many of Sector 10's 42 plots were built by groups of employees. The society list shows HMM Employees on Plot 6, Maitri (Indian AO & E) on Plot 17, Bharat Petroleum Apartment on Plot 23A and Baroda House (NRGE) on Plot 40A, next to Rajnigandha, Nanda Devi and Shakuntalam. Plots 29 and 40 are split in two, so a flat in 29A, DMP Apartment, and one in 29B, Prabhavi, deal with two different offices.

In the towers, Rule 102 of the Delhi cooperative society rules makes the committee responsible for running the lifts and lets the general body charge every resident for them, whatever their floor. That committee is the one to ask for a lift slot, and a written time saves an argument with the guard on the day.

Harsh Apartment, the only DDA pocket, holds SFS flats. There we ask the floor and whether the block has a lift, because a walk-up flat on an upper floor needs more loaders and lighter cartons than a lift block does.

What Sector 10 Society Offices Ask Before Goods Move

  • Your lease or sale papers

    Rule 103 of the same rules asks every housing society to keep a record of tenants as well as owners, and to hold a copy of each occupant's occupancy document. If you are moving into a Sector 10 plot, hand that copy to the office in the week before the move.

  • Dues settled before the gate

    Rule 102 sets out how a society raises maintenance demands, monthly or quarterly, and how unpaid ones are chased, up to recovery through the Registrar. Clear your account before moving day so the office has no reason to hold the truck.

  • A slot that fits the committee

    Some offices are open only on certain days or hours. Ask yours when it can sign off a move-out, then let us fix the packing day around that answer.

When to move

When Should You Move in Dwarka Sector 10?

Delhi's government schools broke for summer on 11 May 2026 and reopened after 30 June, according to Careers360. With seven schools in the sector, that is when Sector 10 families most want to move, and when crews and society slots go fastest.

Summer strains water as well as people: Dwarka City reported low water pressure and erratic timings in Sector 10 in July 2025. Keep some water stored for cleaning the empty flat, and in the July and August rains allow for a morning start and a spare date.

October to February avoids both the heat and the rain. Court days still slow the roads near the complex, so in any month a Saturday or holiday slot is worth asking your society about.

Not bad, just slower. The court complex draws visitors on working days. A weekend slot is often easier, but only if your society allows moves then.
