Packers and movers · Karol Bagh, Central Delhi
Maxx Relocation shifts shops, showrooms and the homes above them in Karol Bagh. We pack stock and household goods, use smaller vehicles where the lanes are tight and load early, before the market fills up.
Area overview

Karol Bagh is a mixed residential and commercial neighbourhood in the Central Delhi district, and its market, one of the oldest shopping centres in Delhi, runs along Ajmal Khan Road, Ghaffar Market and Bank Street, as its Wikipedia entry describes. These streets are crowded with shops, shoppers and parked two-wheelers for much of the day, and many families live above or behind their shops, in buildings that open straight onto the lanes. Quieter residential colonies such as New Rajinder Nagar and Patel Nagar are only a short drive away.
That makes timing the first decision in any Karol Bagh move. Loading goes best early in the morning, before the shutters go up and the lanes fill. Where a full-size truck cannot get in, we bring goods out to a smaller vehicle and shuttle them to a larger one parked on a wider road. Ajmal Khan Road has been a pedestrian street since May 2019, so we never plan for a truck to stand on it, even though a Down To Earth visit in May 2025 found shop owners' SUVs back on half the carriageway. If you are coming by metro to meet the crew, Karol Bagh station is on the Blue Line.
Shop moves add another layer. Stock has to be counted, packed by type and labelled so it can go straight back on the shelves. We pack each section into its own run of numbered cartons and hand you the list, so you can tick it off against your records as the cartons are opened. For a home moving elsewhere in the city, see our packers and movers in Delhi.
Local know-how
Tight lanes and busy hours set the plan here. This is how we work with them.
On the ground in Karol Bagh Central Delhi
We aim to load before the market wakes up. The lanes are far easier to work in before the shops open than at any time after.
Canters and light vehicles get into lanes a full truck cannot. For a large load, they shuttle goods to a bigger truck waiting on a wider road nearby.
Garments, footwear, electronics or spares are packed by category in numbered cartons. Your stock list and our carton list match, so nothing goes astray on the way.
We are GST-registered and can invoice your shop's or office's move for your accounts.
A notification reported in October 2025 bars loading, unloading and parking of every kind of commercial vehicle, e-rickshaws and e-carts included, on Karol Bagh Market roads from 10 am to 8 pm. We load outside those hours, keep every stop short and plan where the truck will wait.
Finding your way
House numbers in the market lanes are hard to read from a cab, so we brief our drivers with these instead.
Wikipedia calls the 108-foot Hanuman statue the landmark that marks the entrance to Karol Bagh. It can be seen from well down the road, which makes it the simplest place to tell a driver coming in from Gurgaon to aim for.
The station opened in 2005, and its neighbours on the Blue Line are Jhandewalan on one side and Rajendra Place on the other, according to Wikipedia. If a family member is heading back to the old address while the truck unloads, those three stops are the ones to know.
Wikipedia lists Gaffar Market as trading in cosmetics, watches, mobile phones and footwear. A shop here usually holds a lot of small, boxed, high-value items, so we pack stock in sealed cartons and count them out in front of you before the shutter comes down.
According to Wikipedia, the road once sold mainly cheap ready-made and embroidered garments; it now has large stores and international labels as well as stalls selling snacks and spices. A big showroom here can mean long rails of clothing and full-height display units, and both are planned into the carton count.
Wikipedia notes that this road is known for second-hand books. Books weigh more than they look, so for a bookseller or a home library we use small cartons that one person can carry safely up and down a narrow stair.
Homes we move
Much of Karol Bagh was built up a long time ago. In the 1920s, villagers moved out to make way for Connaught Place were resettled west of Karol Bagh, and after Partition in 1947 refugee traders from West Punjab and Sindh settled here, as Wikipedia records. Many buildings here date from those decades, so we measure the stair against the largest pieces at the survey rather than assume a double bed or a large fridge will make the turn.
Plots can be tiny, and a building often has a workshop on the lower floors and families above. When a house collapsed in Bapa Nagar on 18 September 2024, The Tribune reported that it stood on about 25 square yards in a narrow lane, with a slipper-making workshop below the homes, and that rain and the building's poor condition were suspected. In buildings like these we survey the stair first, keep loads on each landing light and carry heavy pieces down one at a time.
The residential pockets around the market, among them W.E.A., Beadon Pura, Reghar Pura, Dev Nagar and Bapa Nagar, mix homes with trade, including the Tank Road garment market and the Hardhyan Singh Road leather market.
On the ground
A May 2024 Delhi Traffic Police order, issued under the Delhi High Court’s directions, barred goods vehicles of every type from entering Karol Bagh market from 12:30 pm to 8 pm (ThePrint, from PTI). The later market notification reported in October 2025 deals with loading and parking, not entry, so check the current entry timing when you book. Either way the morning is the window, so packing is done the day before and the morning is kept for carrying goods out to the truck.
Karol Bagh covers several pockets with their own names, such as W.E.A. and Beadon Pura. Give us the pocket and the nearest road when you book, so the driver heads for the right entry point instead of circling the market.
Wholesale garment and leather stock comes in bales and bundles, not shop-floor displays. Tell us the number of bales and whether they are already wrapped, and we bring the right number of handlers and cover sheets.

When to move
Leave room in the plan in August. The Week reported on 8 August 2026 that water had collected near Axis Bank in Karol Bagh, after Delhi received 127 mm of rain in the first week of the month, the most August rain the city had seen in 15 years. A morning start, with a spare date pencilled in, is the safest plan in that month.
Late May is hard on people carrying loads up and down stairs. The Hans India reported on 19 May 2026 that Safdarjung had reached 43.4°C, the hottest day of the year by then, with the Ridge station at 44.6°C. In that heat we begin at first light, which also gets the truck out of the market before the restricted hours begin.
Karol Bagh holds one of the city's oldest Durga Puja celebrations, according to Wikipedia. The puja dates change from year to year, so check them before fixing an autumn move and keep away from those days.

Pricing guidance
In Karol Bagh, access decides the price more than distance. A home or shop the truck can reach costs less to move than one that needs several shuttle trips.
| Move | 1 BHK | 2 BHK | 3 BHK |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gurgaon to Delhi | ₹7,000–8,000 | ₹10,000–13,500 | ₹14,000–16,500 |

FAQ
Still have a question?
Call or WhatsApp us and talk it through with our team.
Yes. We pack Karol Bagh shop and showroom stock by category, number every carton and give you a list that matches. Glass counters and display units can move too; we take apart what comes apart and pad the rest.
Early morning, before the shops open, is usually easiest; by late morning the lanes are crowded. Goods vehicles also face restricted hours on Delhi roads; if a shop move has to run inside them, entry permission for under seven days is applied for in writing to Delhi Traffic Police, as its FAQ explains. We suggest a start time once we know your building and the nearest point a truck can reach.
Yes. We use canters and light-duty vehicles for lanes a full truck cannot enter, and shuttle goods to a bigger truck when the load is large.
Yes. Parcel and bulk transport is one of our service lines, so a few cartons or a full load can go to another city. Tell us the destination and the volume, and we suggest the right option. See our shipping services.
The road is closed to traffic, so the vehicle waits on the nearest road it may use, outside the 10 am to 8 pm market ban, and the crew carries or trolleys goods across. We walk that route during the survey and count the trips into the plan.
