A lot of Saket moves are short on the map. The colony is the headquarters of the South Delhi district and borders Mehrauli to the west, Malviya Nagar to the north and Sainik Farm to the south, with Gurgaon a short drive beyond. But a short move still has to cross from Delhi into Haryana, fit into a block lane at one end and a society gate at the other, and be done before evening traffic builds on the main roads.

Saket's residential blocks, lettered A to N, hold a mix of row houses, multi-storey apartments and two-storey apartments, as its Wikipedia entry describes. In a walk-up flat, the crew carries every carton down the stairs, so we pack in more, lighter cartons rather than a few heavy ones. Where the building has a lift, we book it and protect its walls and floor before loading. Two Yellow Line stations bracket the colony: Malviya Nagar on Press Enclave Road at the northern end, and Saket on the Mehrauli–Badarpur Road, whose entrances in D Block and by the Garden of Five Senses serve southern Saket and Golf Green.

  1. Walk-up flats

    Where a Saket block has no lift, every item goes down the stairs. We pack in lighter cartons and bring enough hands to keep the pace steady.

  2. Block lanes and parking

    Inner lanes can be narrow and lined with parked cars. Tell us where a truck can stand; we may use a smaller vehicle to shuttle goods to a larger one.

  3. The Delhi–Gurgaon crossing

    Moves into Gurgaon are timed around when goods vehicles can use Delhi roads, so the truck is not held up on the way out of the city.

    Most Gurgaon towers want a lift booking and an entry slot for the truck. We confirm these with you before moving day.

  6. Mall days on Press Enclave Road

    Select Citywalk, DLF Avenue and the Metropolitan Mall draw festive crowds to the roads around them. For the 2025–26 New Year, Delhi Traffic Police barred heavy vehicles from both carriageways of Press Enclave Road from noon, so we keep Saket loading days clear of such festive dates.

Which Roads and Landmarks Around Saket Set the Moving Plan?

  1. Press Enclave Marg

    The mall road on Saket's northern side has taken water in heavy spells. ANI reported that Press Enclave Marg was among the places the Public Works Department logged waterlogging complaints from on 6 August 2026, so after a night of rain our crew lead checks it before the truck turns in.

  2. Mehrauli–Badarpur Road and the Asian Market light

    The South Delhi district headquarters stands on MB Road, per Wikipedia, and the same ANI report listed MB Road and Saket among the stretches under water that August. The Asian Market red light on MB Road is a named diversion point in Delhi Traffic Police's mall-season advisories, so it is a junction we flag to the driver early.

  3. Square One and PVR Anupam

    Beyond the three big malls, Wikipedia lists Square One Mall in Saket and the PVR Anupam multiplex, which it describes as the first in India. We pair your block letter with the nearest of these when briefing a driver, because a mall sign is far easier to spot from the road than a house number.

  4. Saket station and the Golden Line works

    Rain has shut Saket station itself: on 27 July 2021 Outlook carried DMRC's notice that trains were not stopping there because waterlogging had closed its gates. The Golden Line now being built adds a Saket G Block interchange, with the Aerocity–Tughlakabad route listed for completion by the end of 2026, so we look for work zones near your block before fixing the route.

Saket's Planned Blocks and the Villages Beneath Them

Saket was laid out on the lands of three villages, Khirki, Said-ul-Ajaib and Hauz Rani, as Wikipedia records. Those village names can still appear in addresses on the colony's edges. If the home you are leaving or moving into is described by a village name rather than a block letter, say so when you book, because the approach to the door may be nothing like a planned block's.

Press Enclave is counted as its own part of Saket, separate from the lettered blocks, and Wikipedia notes that several parks belong to the blocks. A park frontage can give a truck room to stand while the crew loads, but only where the residents' association allows it, so ask before the day rather than on it.

What to Sort Out Before a Truck Comes to a Saket Block

  • A truck registered outside Delhi

    Since 1 November 2025, commercial goods vehicles registered outside Delhi may enter only if they are BS-VI diesel or run on CNG, LNG or electricity, with BS-IV diesels allowed until 31 October 2026, The Tribune reported. For a move from Gurgaon into Saket, we assign a vehicle that meets the rule on your moving date.

  • Restricted-hours permission

    Delhi Traffic Police issues No Entry Permission stickers year by year. Its Circular No. 149 of 31 December 2025 kept the 2025 stickers valid while the 2026 applications were still under scrutiny. If your slot falls inside restricted hours, we confirm the vehicle's permission is current before we commit to that time.

  • Gate staff and the RWA

    Where your block has a gate guard or an active RWA, give them the truck's size and arrival time the day before, and ask whether trucks are let in during the afternoon. A quick call then saves the loaded truck waiting outside the gate.

When to move

When Is a Good Time to Move House in Saket?

Avoid the mall holidays. For Christmas Day 2024, Delhi Traffic Police closed every median cut between Sheikh Sarai and Hauz Rani from 2 pm and kept DTC and cluster buses off both sides of Press Enclave Road, News24 reported. A truck that needs to turn across that road then faces a long loop, so we steer Saket customers away from the week between Christmas and New Year.

In the monsoon, choose a morning start and hold a spare day. The August 2026 waterlogging around MB Road and Press Enclave Road shows how quickly the approaches can close, and a crew that starts early can finish loading before an afternoon storm.
