Door-to-door packing, loading and delivery for a full home or just a few cartons.
Rajouri Garden was laid out after Partition on land from the old village of Basai Darapur, with private bungalows in its lettered blocks and DDA apartments alongside, as its Wikipedia entry describes. When one of those bungalows is rebuilt as a builder floor, it usually gains stilt parking at the bottom, a compact lift and three or four floors of new flats above. Many moves we see here are families shifting into one of these, often a few streets from where they lived before, or from nearby Punjabi Bagh and Patel Nagar.
A new floor changes the job. The marble has just been polished. The door frames are freshly painted, and the modular kitchen and wardrobes are brand new. In a move like this, most damage happens not in the truck but in the last ten metres, between the stilt parking and the flat door.
So we unload differently. Floor sheets go down in the entrance and along the route to each room before any furniture comes in. Door frame corners are padded. The lift gets a lining. And each piece goes straight to the room and wall you marked on your plan, so it is set down once, not dragged around twice. Moving somewhere else in the city?
