Who lives in Sector 19, and how does that shape a move?

Much of Sector 19 is DDA housing, arranged in numbered pockets. Dwarka Homes, a local property directory, names Bharat Vandana Apartment in Pocket 1, Green View Apartment in Pocket 2, Akshar Dham Apartment in Pocket 3 and Sanskriti Apartment in Pocket B. Sector 19B, listed separately, has newer DDA allotments and the DDA Golf Condos. Listings for Pocket 3 alone describe two, three and four-bedroom flats alongside four and six-bedroom villas. One sector, then, can mean a two-hour job or a two-day one.

That is why we survey before we quote. A villa with a puja room, a study full of books and a garden's worth of planters needs packing material and crew hours that a compact MIG flat does not. We count rooms, note the heavy pieces and check where the truck can stand at your gate.

Sector 19B is also changing. The DDA has tied up with Omaxe to build an integrated sports complex and stadium there, which the DDA said in 2024 should be working by 2027. Sector 19 Moves: What We Look At

Four things that change the plan here.

On the ground in Dwarka Sector 19 South West Delhi

  1. Villas and expandable flats

    Pocket 3 is listed with MIG and expandable flats plus villas. Bigger homes mean more furniture to dismantle and more cartons, so we may pack on one day and load the next.

  2. Rain and low roads

    A Dwarka local news site wrote in July 2025 that some roads and blocks sit lower, naming parts of Sector 19 among them. In the monsoon we keep a morning slot free, carry plastic sheeting and avoid loading in heavy rain.

  3. Sector 19 or 19B?

    Sector 19 and 19B are separate addresses and a driver can mix them up. We confirm the pocket, the apartment name and the gate before the truck leaves.

  4. Close to the airport

    The Wikipedia entry on the DDA's planned sports complex in Sector 19 places it about three kilometres from IGI Airport. For a transfer flight on moving day, we load early so you can leave on time.

Finding your way

Sector 19 Landmarks That Shape a Move

Sector 19 runs from Phase I pockets to the villa plots of 19B. These schools, roads and edges decide where our truck can go.

  1. Schools in Phase I and 19B

    The district school directory lists Modern International School in Sector-19, Phase-1, St. Mary School in Sector 19 and O.P.G. World School in Sector 19B. We avoid the bell times on whichever of these roads leads to your gate.

  2. Goyla and Qutub Vihar edge

    Some addresses near the sector name the villages beside it: the district lists Samar Hospital at Goyla Vihar, near Sector 19, and Infant Jesus School at Qutub Vihar Phase-I, near Sector 19B. Village lanes may be narrow, so we check the access if your old or new home is on that side.

  3. Open drains

    The Tribune reported in August 2025 a resident's account of a cow falling into an open drain in Sector 19. The crew does not set goods down along an uncovered drain, and a helper guides the truck when it reverses near one.

Homes we move

Society Plots, DDA Pockets and Villas in Sector 19

Beyond the DDA pockets, Sector 19 has cooperative plots too. The Dwarka Homes list shows four in 19A, including Chitrakoot Dham on Plot 2 and Jan Vikas on Plot 3, and fourteen in Phase II, among them Golf Green on Plot 2, Saptaparni (Golf view) on Plot 4, NTPC Apartment on Plot 10 and Orchid Valley, the railway society, on Plot 11. Golf Island is listed in 19B.

A cooperative tower has a committee that books lifts and keeps the gate register. A DDA pocket block usually has neither, so planning there turns on the stairs and on how close the truck can get. We ask which kind you are in when you first call.

Villas and four-bedroom flats bring heavier pieces: dining sets, beds with storage boxes, garden planters. For these we bring extra blankets and a trolley, and we check door widths on the survey before promising a one-day move.

What Sector 19 Societies and Pockets Ask Before a Move

  • Copy of your lease or deed

    Under Rule 103 of the Delhi Co-operative Societies Rules, 2007, a society's committee keeps records of owners and tenants and obtains a copy of each occupant's occupancy document. Give it to the office of your 19A or Phase II society before moving in.

  • Final maintenance dues

    The same rules (Rule 102) let a committee bill maintenance monthly or quarterly and post a defaulters' list. Pay your last bill early so there is nothing to sort out at the gate.

  • Police verification for a rented pocket flat

    If you rent out your DDA flat after moving, the new tenant must be verified with the police. In November 2025, Delhi Police booked 250 people in North district who had not done so.

When to move

When to Plan a Move in Sector 19

Summer is the hard season here. A Sector 19 teacher living in Suryodaya Apartments told Dwarka City in July 2025 they had been asked to pay for a water tanker. If you are moving in May or June, store water for cleaning both homes, and we start before the heat builds.

Delhi's government school break in 2026 ran from 11 May to 30 June, Careers360 reported. With three schools in the sector, families with children often choose those weeks, so book well ahead.

After the rains end in early October, we no longer need wet-weather wrapping or a backup date. October to February suits villa moves that run over two days.
