A house shift that starts in DLF Phase 1 and ends elsewhere in Gurgaon falls under the owner's October 2026 Gurgaon bands. One-bedroom homes run from Rs 4,500 to Rs 7,000; a two-bedroom home costs Rs 8,000 to Rs 12,500; three bedrooms cost Rs 12,000 to Rs 15,000. Where your move falls inside its range depends on three things the map does not show: whether the goods come down stairs or in a small shared lift, how close the truck can stand to your gate, and how much a family house has gathered over the years.
This post covers price, crew hours and access only. For how we pack and plan a Phase 1 house in general, see our DLF Phase 1 packers and movers page; for all five phases compared, see our DLF phases and Cyber City moving guide.
How much does a house shift from DLF Phase 1 cost in October 2026?
These are the bands we give before anyone has seen the house. The owner last revised them in October 2026, and the same figures are printed on our Gurgaon packers and movers page.
| Home or vehicle | Owner's band, Oct 2026 | Where it applies |
|---|---|---|
| 1 BHK | Rs 4,500–7,000 | Both homes inside Gurgaon |
| 2 BHK | Rs 8,000–12,500 | Both homes inside Gurgaon |
| 3 BHK | Rs 12,000–15,000 | Both homes inside Gurgaon |
| Car, by carrier truck | Rs 9,000–11,500 | Distances of 50 km or less |
| Motorcycle or scooter | Rs 3,000–7,000 | Distances of 50 km or less |
Two cautions come with the table. A range is not a quote: the written figure follows a look at both homes, in person or on a video call. And our ranges stop at 3 BHK. An independent house used by one family across several floors, with a terrace and a storeroom, is priced only after we have counted what it holds. If the new home is in South Delhi rather than Gurgaon, the Delhi ranges apply instead; our post on moving between Delhi and Gurgaon sets them out with the border paperwork. Our household shifting page lists what the packing, loading and unpacking service includes.
Why do stairs and lifts decide the crew hours in Phase 1?
Because the kilometres in a Phase 1 move are short and the vertical carrying is not. Two kinds of building stand on the same lanes, and they use time differently.
The first is the older family house, usually reached by an internal staircase, with no lift at all. The second is the rebuilt plot. DLF's allotment form for floors in Phases I, II and III describes four independent floors built over a basement and stilt parking, and its specification sheet lists the building lift as having a "capacity of 6 persons". A car of that size takes cartons, chairs, suitcases and small appliances well. A three-seater sofa, a double bed frame or a tall wardrobe often does not go in, so those pieces travel by the stair or are taken apart in the flat first.
| Stage of the day | Older house, stairs only | Rebuilt floor with a six-person lift |
|---|---|---|
| Packing | More rooms, a terrace and a storeroom to clear | Usually one floor's worth of goods |
| Large furniture | Carried down whole if the stair turns allow it | Dismantled or carried by stair if it will not fit the lift |
| Cartons | Every carton carried by hand | Lift runs, shared with three other households |
| Waiting | Little, unless the lane is blocked | Waiting for the lift if neighbours are using it |
| Crew size | More hands for long carries | Fewer hands, but someone posted at each lift door |
What usually stretches the day in Phase 1:
- Tight landings. A stair that turns sharply at each floor means beds and almirahs must be opened up before they leave the room.
- A shared lift at a busy hour. If the other three floors are coming and going, each lift run takes longer.
- Heavy older furniture. Solid wood, stone tops and steel cupboards need padding and more carriers.
- The storeroom and the terrace. These are packed last and are almost always fuller than expected.
Do you need a gate pass to move in DLF Phase 1?
Not in the sense a condominium tower means it. DLF's own form calls Phases I to III "a residential plotted colony", so there is no single estate office that issues move slips for the whole phase. We have not found moving rules published online by a Phase 1 residents' association, as of October 2026. What you deal with instead is the people around your plot: a block guard who may note vehicle numbers, and, on a rebuilt floor, three other households who share the stair, the lift and the stilt driveway.
The lanes themselves have changed this year. On 21 April 2026 The Tribune reported that an enforcement drive across some 550 houses in Phases 1 and 2 had removed around 150 illegal lawns, more than 40 ramps and over 100 illegal gates, grills and barricades. For a move, that cuts both ways. Fewer barriers stand between the lane and your door, but if the concrete ramp at your gate was one of those taken down, there may now be a step where the trolley used to roll. Tell us at the survey, so the crew brings boards for the fridge and the washing machine.
Where does the truck stand outside a Phase 1 house?
On the lane, as close to your gate as the parked cars allow. That distance is the biggest single access cost in Phase 1, because every carton crosses it on foot.
Parking on the lanes has tightened. A Tribune report of 18 August 2026 said the planning department's enforcement wing was examining close to 500 buildings of the stilt-plus-four type in the DLF phases, and that stilts turned into rooms were pushing cars out onto the roads. A lane where several stilts have been closed in carries more parked cars than it was planned for, so the space in front of your gate may not be free on the day.
There are three ways the day can run, and each costs a different amount of time:
- Truck at the gate. The quickest. Ask the neighbours opposite to move their cars the night before.
- Truck at the end of the lane. The crew carries further, so the job needs more hands or more hours.
- Small vehicle shuttling to a bigger truck. Used where a full-size truck cannot turn in; it adds loading and unloading at the changeover.
We pick one at the survey, not on the morning, and it is written into the quote.
At what time of day can the truck come?
After the morning rush on the main roads. Gurugram's traffic police set two daily no-entry windows for commercial vehicles on designated roads, morning 8–10 and evening 5–9, according to the Digi Pass note that GMDA hosts. For a Phase 1 move that means the truck reaches your lane after 10 in the morning, and the plan aims to have it loaded and away before the evening window opens, so the household is not left with half a load at dusk.
If the new home is in Delhi, a second set of limits applies. Delhi asks for a No Entry Permission from its own traffic police whenever a goods vehicle runs on its restricted roads at restricted times. Our Saket page covers one of the usual Delhi destinations from here.
In July and August, keep a reserve date. The Tribune's 11 July 2026 report on that month's downpour named every DLF phase, this one included, among the city's worst waterlogging spots. Water in the lane slows every carry and can keep the truck back from the gate.
Does a move to a neighbouring phase or sector change the plan?
The price band stays the same, because the drive is a small part of the day. What does change is the destination building, which can add or remove hours.
| Moving to | Our page | What the destination adds |
|---|---|---|
| DLF Phase 2, Sector 25 | DLF Phase 2 | Plotted houses and rebuilt floors on the same DLF plan, so the same stair or small-lift question applies |
| DLF Phase 3, Sector 24 | DLF Phase 3 | Narrow inner lanes; our branch is in V Block, so the crew knows which turns a vehicle can make |
| DLF Phase 4 | DLF Phase 4 | Gated societies such as Hamilton Court and Ridgewood, which Wikipedia places on Chakkarpur's former land; expect a society pass and set hours |
| DLF Phase 5 | DLF Phase 5 | Condominium towers: a service-lift booking and a gate pass from the estate office |
| Cyber City | Cyber City | For an office move, the building's facility desk sets the loading point and slot |
For a family member travelling separately, the Rapid Metro's DLF Phase 1 station, opened on 31 March 2017, is one stop from Sikanderpur and one from Sector 42-43, which serves the Phase 5 towers. When the old home must be handed back before the new one is free, part of the load can be held in our warehouse.
How can you keep the quote near the low end of its range?
By removing the waiting and the surprises before the crew arrives. A week before the move:
- To do: Tell us the floor, and whether the building has a lift; send the lift car's inside measurements if it does
- To do: Agree the lift and stair hours with the other households on a rebuilt plot
- To do: Ask the neighbours opposite to keep the space at your gate clear on the morning
- To do: Mention any step at the gate where a ramp used to be
- To do: Clear the storeroom, the terrace and any basement store allotted to your floor
- To do: Empty wardrobes and beds with boxes, so they can be dismantled quickly
- To do: Give the block guard the truck number and expected time
- To do: In the monsoon, agree a second date
When both addresses are fixed, ask us for a written quote. Moving a car as well? Our car transport service can run on the same day. For how our ranges compare with other cities, see packers and movers charges in Gurgaon.
This post is general information, and its prices are indicative ranges dated October 2026, not quotes. Traffic windows, enforcement drives and building arrangements change, so check the current position with the traffic police and your neighbours before the day.
