A house shift that starts or ends on Golf Course Road and stays inside Gurgaon is priced on the owner's October 2026 bands, which begin at Rs 4,500–7,000 for one bedroom, rise to Rs 8,000–12,500 for two and top out at Rs 12,000–15,000 for three. Where a move lands inside its band depends less on the drive than on the building: how many service-lift trips the goods need, how far the truck stands from that lift, and whether the home is larger than the bands cover, as many here are.
This post deals with price, crew hours and access only. For booking a lift slot and the fees societies charge, read our Golf Course Road high-rise moving guide; for the road, its towers and offices as a whole, see our Golf Course Road packers and movers page.
What will a Golf Course Road house shift cost in October 2026?
These are the indicative bands the owner, Radhe Shyam, set in October 2026. The same figures appear on our Gurgaon packers and movers page.
| Home size | Indicative range (October 2026) | What usually takes the time in a tower |
|---|---|---|
| One bedroom | Rs 4,500 to 7,000 | Waiting between lift trips more than the trips themselves |
| Two bedrooms | Rs 8,000 to 12,500 | Enough trips that the slot length starts to matter |
| Three bedrooms | Rs 12,000 to 15,000 | Beds and wardrobes taken apart to fit the lift car |
| Four bedrooms or more | Priced after a survey | Everything above, counted room by room at the survey |
Read the table with one fact about this road in mind: many of its homes are larger than a 3 BHK. The architects of DLF The Magnolias, Hafeez Contractor, describe 589 apartments and duplexes of roughly 6,300 to 12,200 sq ft across five towers and 19 mid-rise blocks in Sector 42. In Sector 54, DLF lists The Grove as low-rise floors of 4 and 5 BHK. Homes like these fall outside the published bands, so their price comes only after a survey has counted what they hold.
Society charges are a separate matter. Any shifting fee or refundable deposit a tower asks for is paid to the society, not to the mover. For what the service includes, from the first carton to the last unpacked shelf, see household shifting.
Why do service-lift trips, not kilometres, set the crew hours?
Because the drive between two addresses on this road is short, and the vertical part of the job is not. A Wikipedia list of the region's tallest buildings puts DLF Camellias in Sector 42 at 39 floors and 156 metres. A CommonFloor listing for The Crest in Sector 54 gives a floor-to-floor height of about 3.2 metres, so a flat on the 20th floor of a tower like that sits some 64 metres above the lobby. Every load goes down that distance and the empty trolley comes back up.
Three things decide how long the lift part of the day takes:
- How many service lifts the tower has. The same CommonFloor listing describes The Crest as having high-speed passenger lifts with an additional service lift. If one service lift carries all the goods, every trip waits for the one before it.
- Who else is using it. Housekeeping, deliveries and interior work can all share the service lift. A slot booked for the move in your name keeps the car free between your trips.
- Whether there is a change of lift. The listing also mentions shuttle lifts from the basement. Where the tower lifts stop at the lobby and a separate lift runs to the basement, goods loaded below ground change cars once on the way down, which adds handling.
| Part of the day | Low-rise floor, such as The Grove | Tall tower, such as Camellias |
|---|---|---|
| Packing | Similar for the same amount of goods | Similar for the same amount of goods |
| Bringing goods down | Stairs or a small lift, short carries | Many long service-lift trips |
| Large furniture | Often carried down whole | Taken apart if it will not fit the lift car |
| Crew placement | Most hands carrying | Someone at each lift door and at the truck |
| What stretches the day | Narrow stair turns | Waiting for the lift between trips |
Will your goods go in the service lift or a passenger lift?
A tower with a service lift usually keeps goods to it and leaves the passenger lifts to residents; ask your estate office whether yours does. If it does, two things are settled in advance. First, the service lift car's inside size, not the passenger lift's, sets what leaves the flat whole: a sofa or wardrobe that will not fit is dismantled in the flat, which adds time at both ends. Second, if the service lift is out of order on the day, there is often no fallback unless the estate office agrees to release a passenger lift.
So before the survey, find out:
- How many service lifts serve your tower, and whether one is assigned to moves.
- The inside measurements of the service lift car, including the height of its door.
- Whether the passenger lifts may be used for cartons if the service lift fails.
- Whether the lift runs to the loading point directly, or goods change lifts at the lobby.
On a low-rise floor the question is the stair instead. A wide stair with easy turns can take a sofa down whole; a tight one cannot.
Do you need a gate pass, and how many?
For a move between two towers, expect two: one from the complex you leave and one from the complex you move into. Each gate keeps its own list, and the two may give you different hours. Fix the later of the two slots first, then plan the loading at the old tower so the truck reaches the new gate inside its window.
Office towers on the road add a step. DLF says Horizon Center uses RFID-enabled car parking, so a visiting truck does not drive in the way a tenant's car does; facility management decides which entry it uses and how long it may stay. If part of your household goods or a home office is coming from a building like that, ask the facility desk for the vehicle process a week ahead. For what Sector 54 societies publish about permissions, see our Sector 54 rules post.
Where does the truck stand on moving day?
Inside the complex, at the point the estate office names, and never on the main carriageway. The road was laid out by DLF, according to its project brief, as a signal-free route with underpasses, including U-turn underpasses, so a truck that stops on it blocks through traffic, and one that misses a gate must carry on to the next U-turn. Tell the driver which side of the road the gate is on and what stands beside it.
Leaving a goods vehicle where parking is not allowed also costs money. When GMDA revised its towing rates from 26 October 2023, The Tribune reported a charge of Rs 2,000 for heavy and medium vehicles, a class that includes all commercial vehicles, with the wrong-parking challan levied separately by the traffic police. Those rates date from 2023, so check the current figure, but the lesson is the same: plan the standing point before the day.
The usual options, from quickest to slowest:
- At the tower's porch or podium drop-off. The shortest carry from the lift to the truck.
- At a basement loading bay. Check that the truck clears the ramp's headroom, and whether goods change lifts on the way.
- At a visitor or service area further from the tower. Every carton then travels on a trolley, and the crew either grows or the day gets longer.
On a covered base, such as the double-height stilt levels Hafeez Contractor describes at The Magnolias, ask the estate office whether cartons may wait there under cover between lift trips and loading. That matters on a wet day.
When should the truck arrive and leave?
Between the two rush hours. The traffic police's Digi Pass explainer puts the city's curfew on commercial vehicles in designated areas at either end of the working day: from eight until ten, and from five until nine at night. It offers free permits, at first valid for three months, to firms in fields such as healthcare, catering and food supply; a household move is not on that list, so plan around the windows instead. The document carries no date, so confirm the hours shortly before the move.
In practice the truck reaches the tower after 10 am and leaves before 5 pm, and the packing can start earlier, indoors. We plan moves within our working hours, up to 9 pm, Monday to Saturday.
What if you are moving to a nearby sector?
A move a few sectors away sits in the same price range, since the time on the road is short. The building you are moving into is what alters the day.
| Moving to | Our page | What the destination adds |
|---|---|---|
| Sector 43 | Sector 43 | Ask whether the new home is a tower flat or a floor, since the lift question differs |
| Sector 53 | Sector 53 | Towers, and the older lanes of Wazirabad, where a truck may not reach the door |
| Sector 54 | Sector 54 | DLF towers and low-rise floors in the same sector |
| Sectors 55 and 56 | Sector 55, Sector 56 | The southern end, near the rotary where the Extension Road begins |
| DLF Phase 5 | DLF Phase 5 | Condominium estate offices with their own pass and lift rules |
| Golf Course Extension Road | Sector 58 | Newer towers; see our two-road comparison |
| Cyber City | Cyber City | Office blocks run their own loading slots and vehicle checks |
If the new flat is not ready on the day the old one must be handed back, part or all of the load can wait in our warehouse.
What can you do to keep the price down?
Cut out the waiting before the crew arrives. A week ahead:
- To do: Ask the estate office how many service lifts there are, and book one for the whole slot
- To do: Send us the service lift car's inside measurements
- To do: Agree the truck's standing point, and check the basement ramp's headroom
- To do: Get both gate passes, with the truck number and crew names
- To do: Ask whether a passenger lift may be used if the service lift breaks down
- To do: Empty wardrobes and beds so they can be taken apart quickly
- To do: Mark anything that stays, so the crew does not pack it
- To do: In July and August, agree a reserve date with both buildings
Once you know both addresses, request a written quote; our article on Gurgaon moving charges explains how the city's prices are built up.
This article is general information. The figures above are the owner's indicative October 2026 ranges rather than quotes, and towing charges, truck hours and tower rules can change, so confirm them with the estate office and the traffic police shortly before you move.
