A house shift that starts or ends in South City 2 and stays inside Gurgaon is priced on bands the owner set in October 2026: the top band, for three bedrooms, is Rs 12,000–15,000; the middle one, for two, is Rs 8,000–12,500; and a single bedroom costs Rs 4,500–7,000. In this colony the figure inside each band is set less by distance than by the stairs: most homes are builder floors on lettered blocks, and the number of flights, the size of the furniture and where the truck can stand decide the crew hours.
This post deals only with price, crew time and access. For schools, shops, the PIN code and first-week paperwork, read our South City 2 newcomer's guide; for what the RWAs ask, see the Sector 49 rules guide.
What are the October 2026 price bands for a South City 2 move?
The owner revised the bands below in October 2026, and they match the table on our Gurgaon packers and movers page. Neither address may lie outside Gurgaon for them to hold.
| What moves | Indicative band | In South City 2 |
|---|---|---|
| 3 BHK | Rs 12,000–15,000 | Unitech's smallest floor here is 230 sq m, so a full floor often needs a survey |
| 2 BHK | Rs 8,000–12,500 | Check the stairs and the lane before booking |
| 1 BHK | Rs 4,500–7,000 | Check the stairs and the lane before booking |
| A car, carried on a truck (to 50 km) | Rs 9,000–11,500 | Same band from any block |
| A bike or scooter (to 50 km) | Rs 3,000–7,000 | Same band from any block |
Treat the band as a guide; the figure you sign comes after a survey. South City 2 has one twist the bands do not show. On Unitech's South City 2 floors page, the three sizes given are 230, 300 and 420 square metres, so plenty of homes here are larger than anything in the table's top row. A floor or house above three bedrooms is priced once its contents are counted, not from the table. For what pushes any Gurgaon figure up or down, read what Gurgaon movers charge, and why.
What makes a South City 2 floor take longer to empty?
Three things, none of them distance.
The staircase is shared. Floors in one building often belong to different people. For instance, a notice issued on 1 January 2026 by the board the government put in charge of Unitech offered the first floor and the second floor of the same Block E plot as two separate lots. On moving day another family is using the stairs you are carrying down, so the crew keeps the stairwell passable and works around their comings and goings.
Rebuilt plots go higher. Since July 2024 Haryana has let plots rise to stilt-plus-four floors, unconditionally where the layout plan allows four homes per plot and with conditions where it allows three, The Hans India reported. A top floor in a rebuilt block is five levels above the lane. If there is a lift, we measure it before relying on it for a wardrobe or a long sofa.
The furniture matches the rooms. Large floors hold long dining tables, deep sofas and wall units that will not turn on a landing, so they are taken apart and refitted. Unitech specifies marble in the living and dining areas of these floors, and we lay protective sheets along the carrying path before anything heavy moves.
Where does the time go on the day?
| Stage | Why it takes time in South City 2 | What shortens it |
|---|---|---|
| Finding the gate | One colony name covers Sectors 47, 49 and 50 | Send the block letter, plot number and a landmark when you book |
| Parking | Loading is from the lane outside the plot; cars fill the kerb later in the day | An early start, and a word with neighbours about their cars |
| Stair carry | Each flight adds hands and minutes | Mention the floor, and any lift, in your quote request |
| Dismantling | Beds, wardrobes and big sofas will not pass the landing whole | Empty them a day ahead so they can be taken apart quickly |
| Storage | A new home not ready on the day means unloading twice | Storage days appear as their own line on the quote |
A quick test before you ask for a quote: count the flights from your door to the lane, and measure the narrowest turn on the stairs. Those two numbers help us size the crew for the stairs.
When can the truck drive, and when should it avoid the junctions?
Between the city's two restricted windows. GMDA hosts a Gurugram Traffic Police note on the Digi Pass that names two windows in which commercial vehicles may not use designated roads: the morning one closes at 10 am, having opened at 8, and the evening one lasts from 5 pm until 9. The note carries no date, so check that those hours still hold in your moving week; under them, a truck that reaches the plot after 10 am and leaves before 5 pm stays out of trouble.
Two local habits sit on top of that rule. Sohna Road, the colony's front door, slows at peak hours, which is why we try to get a loaded truck on its way well before the evening rush. And school buses crowd Subhash Chowk at opening and closing times: ETV Bharat reported that an hour of rain on 24 August 2026 left school buses stuck for hours around the chowk and Rail Vihar, in Sector 47. We keep a loaded truck away from the chowk around school hours, and on a waterlogged day we hold it back until the junction drains.
Which road works could slow the route this season?
Three projects are worth checking before the date, and each one's status should be confirmed in the week of your move.
- The Bakhtawar Chowk underpass. On 6 February 2026 GMDA issued a no-objection certificate for an underpass at Bakhtawar Chowk in Sector 38, on the metro route from Millennium City Centre towards Subhash Chowk, Swarajya reported citing Hindustan Times. Officials expected work to start in about a month, said the Sector 47 metro station would sit above the underpass, and planned a two-lane road with a U-turn for traffic before the area was cordoned off. We found no later dated report on its progress, so treat the junction's layout as unknown until you check.
- The new metro line. The line will stop at both Sector 47 and Subhash Chowk, according to Wikipedia, which dates the start of civil work to November 2025 and expects the first phase in 2028. Building a line on a busy road usually narrows it in stretches, so a route that worked last month may not this month.
- Civic works on the Sector 50 side. The Tribune reported that on 28 July 2026 the MCG's finance and contract committee gave administrative approval to 26 works worth Rs 171 crore, and Sector-50 is among the areas due for road, water, sewer and drain work. If your block is on that side, ask your neighbours whether the lane outside has been dug.
For a longer run south, the Sohna Elevated Corridor, a six-lane, 21.65 km road from Rajiv Chowk to Sohna that Wikipedia says fully opened on 11 July 2022, carries through traffic above the old road. Our Sohna Road guide covers the junctions further along it.
What if the other home is in a neighbouring colony or sector?
The price band stays the same as long as both addresses are in Gurgaon. The building at the far end is what moves the crew hours.
| Other home | Our page | What to settle first |
|---|---|---|
| Nirvana Country | Nirvana Country | A separate gated colony with its own RWA; villas and duplex stairs |
| Malibu Towne | Malibu Towne | Plot, floor or tower flat; the block and the RWA decide access |
| Sector 48, Sohna Road | Sector 48 | Tower societies with lift and truck slots to book |
| Sector 51 | Sector 51 | Builder floors in Mayfield Garden, or flats; street parking |
| Sector 52, Ardee City | Sector 52 | How close a truck can get to the door |
| South City 1 | South City 1 | The other side of the city, on NH-48; large floors and block lanes |
| A Sohna Road society | Sohna Road | The society's lift slot and permitted truck hours |
Most short moves between the colony and its neighbours are finished within a single day, provided both buildings allow it. If the new home is late, our warehouse holds the goods until it is ready, and the household shifting page explains what the packing and unpacking cover.
How can you keep a South City 2 quote down?
Cut the idle time. Seven days before the move:
- To do: Send the block letter, plot number, floor and a nearby landmark
- To do: Count the flights of stairs at both ends, and say whether either building has a lift
- To do: Tell the family sharing your staircase the date, and ask them to keep the landing clear
- To do: Ask neighbours to leave the kerb outside your plot free on the morning
- To do: Decide what goes, what is stored and what is sold before the packers arrive
- To do: Empty the wardrobes and storage beds so the crew can dismantle them at once
- To do: Check the route past Subhash Chowk and Bakhtawar Chowk in the week of the move
- To do: If you rent, photograph the marble and stair walls before anything is carried
Key takeaway
On the owner's October 2026 bands, a South City 2 move inside Gurgaon runs from Rs 4,500 for a small home to Rs 15,000 for three bedrooms; larger floors are priced after a survey. The stairs, the furniture, the kerb outside your plot, the hours between the two truck bans and the junction works on the way out decide where you land.
Our branch inside the colony is Shop No. 815, Block F, South City II. Once you know both addresses and the floors, ask for a written quote; if a car is coming as well, see car transport.
General information only, as checked on 14 October 2026: the bands are the owner's indicative figures, not a quote, and traffic orders and road works change often, so confirm the route and the permitted hours before the day.
