Moving to Golf Course Road: A Newcomer's Guide for Families and Renters

Moving to Golf Course Road means choosing one stretch of an 8.3 km signal-free road, because each stretch comes with its own Rapid Metro station, police station and post office, and the homes change from 39-storey towers to builder floors within a few hundred metres. Rents are just as wide: on NoBroker on 5 November 2026, two-bedroom homes on the Sector 43 side asked Rs 30,000 to 65,000 a month and large four-bedroom flats up to Rs 2.5 lakh, mostly against a two-month deposit.

Which stretch of Golf Course Road will you live on?

Start with the nearest metro station, because the police station, the market you use and often the PIN follow from it. DLF puts the length at 8.3 km, measured between DLF Gateway Tower and the rotary at Sectors 55 and 56, and its Phase V compliance filing spreads Phase 5 across four sectors: 42, 43, 53 and 54. Sectors 55 and 56 follow at the southern end.

Distances are measured between station points on OpenStreetMap and are shorter than the ride. Those sector guides go deeper on schools, clinics and markets; this page covers what changes along the road as a whole.

What will you rent, and what do the listings really show?

A wider spread of homes than the road's reputation suggests. On NoBroker's DLF Phase 5 rental page, which showed 41 homes on 5 November 2026, we counted the 24 listings on the Golf Course Road side. Most were flats in standalone buildings and builder floors in Sector 43, not apartments in the big DLF condominiums:

Three points from the same page help with budgeting:

• Deposits. Fourteen of the 24 asked for exactly two months' rent and three asked for three months; the other seven ranged from one month to just under three.
• Maintenance. Only a few added it. The largest was a four-bedroom flat in DLF The Icon at Rs 1.8 lakh a month plus Rs 31,000 maintenance, with a deposit of Rs 5 lakh; two group-housing flats added Rs 6,000.
• Size versus price. A 700 sq ft two-bedroom asked Rs 65,000 while a 1,550 sq ft one asked Rs 42,000, so compare carpet area, furnishing and the building, not the label.

The other trap is the place name, which portals apply loosely. Of the first 26 homes NoBroker's "Golf Course Road" search returned on the same day, 13 were in Sector 27 and several in DLF Phase 4, neither of them among the Phase 5 sectors in DLF's filing. Which PIN code goes on your papers?

The one on a bill delivered to your building, because the road crosses at least four delivery offices. The India Post directory lists them as:

DLF's compliance filing gives The Aralias a 122009 address, while some property portals print a single code for the whole road. Once you have the right PIN, use it for the bank, Aadhaar, employer, gas agency and school forms, and always write the sector and the tower or block beside it.

Which police station handles your tenant verification?

The one for your sector, which Gurugram Police's East zone list spells out. The page was last updated on 22 April 2024:

• PS Sushant Lok: Sectors 42, 43 and 44, with entries for Golf Course, Central Park, The Aralias building (spelt "Araliyas") and DLF Golf Links.
• PS Sector-53: Sectors 52, 52-A, 53 and 54, plus the village of Wazirabad.
• PS Sector 55/56: Sectors 55, 56 and 57, and Ghata village.
• PS DLF Sector 29: DLF Phase 4, Sushant Lok's A and B blocks, Galleria Market and Regency Park.
• PS DLF Phase 1: DLF Phase 1 and Sikanderpur village.
• PS Metro: every Rapid Metro station on the road, plus the Yellow Line stations in the city.

The Gurugram Police verification page asks you to submit the downloadable tenant form, with supporting documents, at the station concerned; it also says to retain one copy and pass another to the RWA president. The same form covers domestic help. Agree with your landlord who files it, and do it in the first week.

How will you get around?

By Rapid Metro for many trips, and by car for the rest. The line runs the length of the road; Wikipedia gives services from 6:05 am to 10 pm at four-minute intervals, and a walkway about 90 metres long at Sikanderpur links it to Delhi Metro's Yellow Line. A family in Sector 55 or 56 is therefore one change away from central Delhi, while one near Sector 42-43 can be at the interchange in a few stops.

Driving has its own learning curve. DLF's project brief describes the road as signal-free, with underpasses and two U-turn underpasses, so a driver who passes the gate keeps going until the next U-turn. Learn the side of the road your tower is on and which U-turn brings you back to it, then send that to every cab and delivery app.

One rule this winter matters to newcomers from other states. A UNI report of 26 October 2026 says Delhi bars non-BS-VI vehicles registered outside the city from 1 November 2026 to 31 January 2027. If your car is older and carries another state's number, take the metro into Delhi until February.

Where will the children study, and where is the nearest hospital?

Close by, though the right answer depends on the stretch. On the Sector 53 side, Wikipedia's record places Lancers International School in DLF Phase 5's part of Sector 53 and dates its founding to 2009. The sector guides linked in the table list the CBSE and other schools near each stretch, with their affiliation records, and name the hospitals and chemists closest to each, so we do not repeat them here.

Before you sign a lease, do three things a guide cannot do for you:

1. Call the schools. Ask about mid-year seats and transport routes for your block, and carry the transfer certificate yourself on moving day.
2. Choose a hospital. Check which one your insurer treats as cashless and save its emergency number in every phone.
3. Drive the route once. With no signals to turn at, the fastest way to a hospital or school can mean a U-turn first.

What does the move onto Golf Course Road cost?

Arriving from another Gurgaon address, a one-bedroom Golf Course Road flat sits in a band of Rs 4,500 to Rs 7,000 on our owner's indicative pricing for October 2026; a two-bedroom flat moves into the Rs 8,000–12,500 band, and a three-bedroom flat into the Rs 12,000–15,000 band; homes larger than that are priced after a survey.
