Dwarka Sector 7 is the sector on Dwarka's Palam side where cooperative society flats, two DDA pockets and the house-number streets of Palam Extension sit around the market at Ramphal Chowk. For a newcomer, it offers a large government hospital about a kilometre away, two Blue Line stations within roughly 1.5 km, three schools on the district's own list and, in October 2026, typical 2 BHK rents of Rs 7,000 to Rs 35,000 a month.
This guide is about settling in: the right PIN, the school run, doctors, shopping, rent and the questions to ask before you sign. For the moving side, from building access to the truck, read about our packers and movers in Dwarka Sector 7.
Which kind of Sector 7 home suits your household?
Three kinds, and they suit different households. The Dwarka Homes directory lists cooperative group housing societies on Plots 1 to 23 and two DDA pockets; the rest of the sector, on the Palam Extension side, is built house by house.
| Home | Who it often suits | Ask before you commit |
|---|---|---|
| Cooperative society flat | Families who want a gate, a guard and, in taller blocks, a lift | Whether the society office has any rule for tenants, and what the monthly charges are |
| DDA pocket flat (Pocket 1, or Arunodaya in Pocket 2) | Buyers and renters who want a planned block without a society office | Which floor, and whether the flat has been extended beyond its original plan |
| Independent or builder floor in Palam Extension | Often renters on a tighter budget, or those who want a ground floor | Water source, parking, and how the owner splits electricity bills between floors |
Each type answers to a different body, and that matters on the day you move. Our Sector 7 society rules guide explains who decides what.
Which PIN code should go on your documents?
The one on your lease or sale deed, because Sector 7 uses three. Addresses in the District South West directory, read on 20 October 2026, end in all of them, and India Post's data ties each to a different post office.
| PIN | Post office, per India Post data | Sector 7 address listed with it, per the district directory |
|---|---|---|
| 110045 | Palam Village sub post office (delivery) | Shiksha Bharti Public School; Prakash Public School, Pocket II |
| 110075 | Dwarka Sector 6 sub post office (delivery) | Max Fort School; Bharti Nursing Home, Chandar Vihar |
| 110077 | Raj Nagar-II sub post office (delivery); Palam Extension (Harijan Basti) sub post office (non-delivery) | A clinic at Ramphal Chowk; a lab in Vardhaman Star City Mall |
Use one PIN everywhere once you have chosen it: the bank, the gas connection, school forms and any change of address on your ID. A courier with the wrong PIN may route the parcel to the wrong post office, and a mismatch between documents can slow down a form.
How will you get to work and school?
By metro, mostly, with a short ride or walk to the station. Sector 7 has no Blue Line station named after it. Measured in a straight line on OpenStreetMap from the sector's mapped centre, with data of 19 October 2026:
- Dwarka Sector 10 (Blue Line): about 1.2 km
- Dwarka Sector 9 (Blue Line): about 1.5 km
- Dwarka Sector 11 (Blue Line): about 1.8 km
- Dashrath Puri (Magenta Line): about 2 km from Ramphal Chowk
NoBroker's rental pages for the sector also name Palam on the Magenta Line among the nearest stations. Real walking distances are longer than a straight line, so time the walk from your block before you count on it. For how Dwarka's stations and sectors fit together, see our Dwarka sectors guide.
Which schools are in or near Sector 7?
The district administration's school directory gives three schools a Sector 7 address:
| School | Address as listed | PIN shown |
|---|---|---|
| Max Fort School | Sector-7, Dwarka | 110075 |
| Shiksha Bharti Public School | Sector-7, Dwarka, Palam | 110045 |
| Prakash Public School | Sector-7, Pocket-II, opposite the municipal primary school, Palam | 110045 |
The directory does not say which classes, board or fees each school has, so ask each one directly. For nursery, KG and Class 1 in Delhi's private schools, admissions follow a city-wide calendar. For the 2026–27 session, the Directorate of Education opened registration on 4 December 2025 and closed it for open seats on 27 December 2025, with a Rs 25 registration fee and 25% of seats kept for EWS, disadvantaged-group and disabled children, Careers360 reported. We found no 2027–28 schedule as of 20 October 2026; check the Directorate's notices from November.
- To do: Get the transfer certificate from the old school before the last day
- To do: Ask the new school which stop its bus uses for your block
- To do: Keep proof of address with the PIN you chose, since forms ask for it
- To do: Avoid a moving day that clashes with the school's opening or closing time
Where are the hospitals and clinics?
Close. The nearest big one is the Delhi government's Indira Gandhi Hospital in Sector 9, about 1 km from the centre of Sector 7 in a straight line on OpenStreetMap. Its website says it opened as a 250-bed COVID facility on 10 May 2021 and now runs as a 1,241-bed hospital with outpatient, inpatient, emergency and operating theatre services, with a plan to grow to 1,725 beds.
The district's hospital directory also lists Manipal Hospital in Sector 6, about 0.7 km away on the map, and Aakash Healthcare in Sector 3. Inside Sector 7 it lists a nursing home in Chandar Vihar, a clinic at Ramphal Chowk and a diagnostic lab in Vardhaman Star City Mall. OpenStreetMap marks an ESI dispensary, "ESI Palam Colony", in Sector 7; if you are covered by ESI at work, confirm with ESIC that this is the dispensary for your address.
Tip
Before the first night, store the hospital's emergency desk number in each family member's phone, next to the new address written out in full: plot or pocket, flat number and the PIN you chose.
Where do you shop and bank?
Mostly around Ramphal Chowk. OpenStreetMap, with data of 19 October 2026, maps about ten bank branches, among them SBI, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank and Kotak Mahindra Bank, within roughly 0.6 km of the sector's centre. Supermarkets mapped in the same area include Vishal Mega Mart, Reliance Fresh Signature and Aap ka Bazar at Ramphal Chowk. Sector 9 Market is about 0.8 km away, and the district directory places Vardhaman Star City Mall in the sector.
Opening a bank account or moving one to a local branch is easier once the rent agreement carries your final address, so do it in the first week.
What does it cost to rent, and what should you check?
Rents vary widely with the type of home. NoBroker's Sector 7 pages, read on 20 October 2026, gave these typical monthly ranges:
| Size | Typical monthly rent | Source |
|---|---|---|
| 2 BHK | Rs 7,000 to Rs 35,000 | NoBroker, 2 BHK page |
| 3 BHK | Rs 12,400 to Rs 54,750 | NoBroker, 3 BHK page |
The pages also show some flats in other Dwarka sectors, so the range is a guide, not a quote. Ask what is included, because several listings add a monthly maintenance charge on top of the rent.
Two summer questions deserve an answer in writing:
- Water. Newslaundry reported on 15 May 2026 that apartment complexes from Sector 6 to Sector 12 faced supply disruptions that summer, with Sector 10 among the worst and some societies ordering five private tankers in a single week. NoBroker's data on six Sector 7 society listings showed four with both municipal and borewell water, one with municipal only and one with borewell only. Ask which yours has, whether there is a storage tank, and who pays when a tanker is needed.
- Power. Delhi's demand reached a record 8,748 MW at 3:17 pm on 29 June 2026, Angel One reported, and BSES Rajdhani met 3,906 MW of it. Ask whether the flat has an inverter or a society power backup, and what it runs.
Owners also ask newcomers for papers; those, and the electricity reading at handover, are covered on our area page.
How do you plan the move itself?
Start with the building at each end. A society tower, a DDA walk-up and a Palam Extension floor need different crews and vehicles, and our Sector 7 costs, crew hours and access guide explains how that shapes the time and the quote. If your dates fall in May, June or the monsoon, read our guide to moving in Dwarka Sector 7 in the monsoon and summer heat first.
Coming from Gurgaon? On our indicative October 2026 bands, listed on our Delhi packers and movers page, a 1 BHK costs between Rs 7,000 and Rs 8,000, a 2 BHK between Rs 10,000 and Rs 13,500, and a 3 BHK between Rs 14,000 and Rs 16,500; the border rules for the truck are in our Delhi and Gurgaon moving guide. A move within Delhi is priced after a survey. Our Dwarka branch, in Kartar Nagar, Sector 12 Dwarka (Shop No. 204, PIN 110078), is our nearest office. If you are bringing a car, it can travel with our car transport service.
Key takeaway
In Dwarka Sector 7, choose between a society flat, a DDA pocket flat and a Palam Extension floor, then fix one PIN for all your papers. Indira Gandhi Hospital and the Sector 9 and 10 metro stations are close by, three schools carry a Sector 7 address, and water and power backup are the questions to settle before you sign.
When the keys date is fixed, send us your old and new addresses with the floor and lift details at both ends.
This guide is general information, and every fact in it is tied to a named, dated source in the Sources list. Rents, school admissions, hospital services and water supply change, so check each with the landlord, the school or the authority before relying on it.
