Dwarka Sector 6 is a sector of cooperative society flats and two DDA pockets on Dwarka's eastern side, with Manipal Hospital inside it and about ten schools within a kilometre on the map. A newcomer gets parks on almost every side and a Blue Line station about 1.5 km away, and NoBroker's October 2026 figures put a typical 2 BHK at Rs 7,600 to Rs 49,000 a month.
What follows is about settling in, from the post office and schools to clinics, parks, markets and a lease you can live with. The move itself, from the society office to the truck, has its own page: packers and movers in Dwarka Sector 6.
Society flat or DDA pocket: which suits you?
Most homes here are in one of about forty cooperative group housing societies, which the Dwarka Homes list runs from Plot 1 to Plot 40. The rest are in two DDA Self Financing Scheme pockets: Pocket 1, with category II and III flats, and Pocket 2, with category I and II.
| Home | Often suits | Ask before you commit |
|---|---|---|
| Society flat on a numbered plot | Families who want a guarded gate, a managing committee and, in the taller blocks, a lift | Monthly charges, the tenant papers the office keeps, and whether the lift takes a fridge upright |
| DDA SFS flat in Pocket 1 or 2 | Renters and buyers who prefer a planned DDA block | Floor number, whether there is a lift, and who looks after the common areas |
One thing to know about the pockets: the DDA list of registered residents' welfare associations, dated 15 February 2022, includes pockets in Sectors 7, 10, 12 and 19, but neither Sector 6 pocket. That list is more than four years old, so check with the families next door about who handles repairs and the gate.
Which PIN code and post office serve Sector 6?
Sector 6 uses 110075. India Post's data, read on 21 October 2026, links that PIN to three offices:
| Post office | Type | Delivers mail? |
|---|---|---|
| Dwarka Sec-6 | Sub post office | Yes |
| Amberhai | Branch post office | Yes |
| District Court Complex Dwarka | Sub post office | No |
The Dwarka Sec-6 office is the one named after the sector. Put the full address on every form: plot or pocket, society name, flat number, Sector 6, Dwarka, New Delhi 110075. With forty plots in one sector, the society name saves couriers a lot of guessing.
How far is the metro, and how do you get there?
No Blue Line station is named after Sector 6. Measured in a straight line on OpenStreetMap, using map data of 21 October 2026 and the sector's mapped centre as the starting point:
| Station | Line | Straight-line distance |
|---|---|---|
| Dwarka Sector 10 | Blue | 1.5 km |
| Dwarka Sector 11 | Blue | 1.6 km |
| Palam | Magenta | 1.8 km |
NoBroker's Sector 6 page gives a similar answer, naming the Sector 10 and 11 stations at about 1.4 km. The real route is longer than a straight line, so try the trip at office hours before you depend on it.
Which schools are near Sector 6?
Plenty. The district administration's school directory gives a Sector 6 address to three private schools (Vishwa Bharti Public, J M International and D.A.V. Public) and to two government senior secondary schools, one on Site I and the other on Site 2. OpenStreetMap, with data of 21 October 2026, puts these within about 0.6 km of the sector's mapped centre:
| School as named on the map | Straight-line distance |
|---|---|
| Government co-ed senior secondary school | 0.2 km |
| M.L. Khanna D.A.V. Public School | 0.35 km |
| MDH International School | 0.4 km |
| Vishwa Bharati Public School, Road No. 224 | 0.5 km |
| Icon International School | 0.5 km |
| Maxfort School | 0.6 km |
Neither source gives classes, boards or fees, so ask each school directly. Delhi's private schools admit to nursery, KG and Class 1 on a calendar set by the Directorate of Education. For the 2026–27 session, registration for open seats ran from 4 December to 27 December 2025, according to Careers360. Dates for 2027–28 had not been published when we looked on 21 October 2026, so check for the Directorate's circular from November.
- To do: Collect the transfer certificate and the last report card before you leave the old school
- To do: Ask the new school whether its bus enters your society or stops at the gate
- To do: Keep one address proof with the 110075 PIN for the admission form
- To do: Book the truck away from the morning bell if a school gate is on your road
Where are the hospitals and clinics?
Very close. The district directory places Manipal Hospital at Palam Vihar, Sector 6, and on OpenStreetMap it is about 0.1 km from the sector's mapped centre. The directory also lists Indo-American Hospital on the Palam Vihar side of Sector 6. The map shows Ayushman Hospital about 0.7 km away and several clinics within a kilometre.
The large public option is Indira Gandhi Hospital in Sector 9, run by the Delhi government and about 1.4 km away in a straight line. Its website, read on 21 October 2026, describes a 1,241-bed teaching hospital offering OPD, IPD, emergency care and operating theatres, with 1,725 beds planned.
Tip
On the first evening, save the emergency numbers of the nearest private hospital and of Indira Gandhi Hospital in every family phone, along with your full new address and the society name.
Where do you shop, bank and take the children to play?
Daily shopping starts close to home. OpenStreetMap, with data of 21 October 2026, maps a DDA Market about 0.3 km from the sector's centre and a shop called Organic Acre about 0.1 km away. Reliance Fresh Signature is about 0.7 km away, and Aap ka Bazar at Ramphal Chowk and Vishal Mega Mart are each about 1 km away.
Seven bank branches are mapped 0.8 to 0.9 km away: SBI, Bank of India, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, J&K Bank, Bank of Maharashtra and IndusInd Bank. Move your account to a local branch once the rent agreement shows the new address.
For children, Sector 6 is well supplied with green space. The map shows DDA Park about 0.2 km from the centre, Herbal Park about 0.3 km, Shaheed Major Sanjay Lohchub Park about 0.4 km and Central Nursery Park about 0.7 km, with smaller parks and a playground in between.
What does renting cost, and what should you check?
NoBroker's Sector 6 pages, read on 21 October 2026 and headed "October 2026", gave these typical ranges:
| Size | Monthly rent | Live listings | Other costs shown |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 BHK | Rs 8,000–50,000 | 5+ | Varies by listing |
| 2 BHK | Rs 7,600–49,000 | 14+ | Society flats: maintenance Rs 200–3,500 a month; deposit Rs 8,000–96,799 |
| 3 BHK | Rs 18,200–58,999 | 12+ | Maintenance Rs 800–3,500 a month; deposit Rs 18,200–117,999 |
Sources: 1 BHK, 2 BHK and 3 BHK pages. With only a handful of listings live, and some flats from other localities shown alongside, these are a guide rather than a market rate. Ask the owner what the monthly maintenance covers and how much deposit comes back at the end.
Water is the summer question to settle in writing. Apartment complexes all the way from Sector 6 to Sector 12 had their supply disrupted that season, according to a Newslaundry report of 15 May 2026. Ask whether the building has an overhead or underground tank, whether there is a borewell, and who pays for a tanker when one is needed.
How should you plan the move into Sector 6?
Line up the building first and the truck second. The society office or pocket neighbours will tell you when goods can come in; then check the vehicle against Delhi's rules:
- No Entry Permission. Delhi Traffic Police issues this permit, which a goods vehicle needs to run during the city's restricted hours. The force's FAQ, read on 21 October 2026, says longer permits are applied for online.
- BS-IV cutoff. From 1 November 2026, a truck with another state's number plate must meet BS-VI unless its engine runs on CNG, LNG or electricity, because the grace year allowed to BS-IV trucks ends with October 2026, according to WION on 30 September 2026.
- Winter curb. For three months from 1 November 2026, ending on 31 January 2027, Delhi's winter plan bars commercial vehicles registered in other states unless they are BS-VI; CNG and electric ones are exempt, per The Hindu, 28 September 2026. Check the position in the week of your move.

Once you know your keys date, share both addresses with us, how high up each flat is and whether there is a lift at both ends, and we will plan the day around your society's hours.
This guide is general information; each fact comes from a named, dated source under Sources. Rents, admissions, hospital services and vehicle rules shift over time, so check anything you depend on with the landlord, the school or the department concerned.
