A house shift within Gurgaon that starts or ends in Sector 48 falls in our indicative October 2026 ranges, which run from Rs 4,500–7,000 (1 BHK) through Rs 8,000–12,500 (2 BHK) up to Rs 12,000–15,000 (3 BHK). Where your move lands inside its range depends mostly on access: how long the crew waits at the gate and the lift, how far they carry from the lift to the truck, and whether Sohna Road is clear that day.
For the sector itself, with its towers and the lift-booking routine, see our Sector 48 packers and movers page. This post is about the money and the hours.
What does a house shift in Sector 48 cost?
For a move that stays inside Gurgaon, these are the ranges we quote before a survey. They are the same figures shown on our Gurgaon city page, last updated in October 2026.
| Home or vehicle | Indicative range (October 2026) | Basis |
|---|---|---|
| 1 BHK | Rs 4,500–7,000 | Within Gurgaon |
| 2 BHK | Rs 8,000–12,500 | Within Gurgaon |
| 3 BHK | Rs 12,000–15,000 | Within Gurgaon |
| Car | Rs 9,000–11,500 | Up to 50 km |
| Bike | Rs 3,000–7,000 | Up to 50 km |
A range is not a quote. The written price comes after we have seen the goods, in person or on a video call, and know both buildings. What the crew does, from packing to unloading, is set out on our household shifting page; a car can go on a carrier, as described under car transport.
What pushes a Sector 48 quote towards the top of its range?
Time, more than distance. Two homes a kilometre apart can cost very different amounts if one move takes twice the crew hours. The things that add hours here:
- A short or late lift slot. If the estate office gives you two hours of a shared service lift, we need more hands to finish inside it.
- Distance from lift to truck. In a large township the truck may stand at a loading point well away from your tower, and every carton makes that walk.
- Stairs. A villa or builder floor without a lift means carrying by hand, and heavy pieces such as a double-door fridge or a stone-top table need extra people.
- Packing left for the day. Cartons packed and sealed before the truck arrives save the most time of anything on this list.
- A detour on Sohna Road. A closed stretch adds drive time and, for a loaded truck, fuel.
- Things to dismantle. Beds, wardrobes and wall-mounted TVs each take time to take apart and refit.
What decides the crew hours on moving day?
The slot you are given, the state of the road, and how ready the home is. The table shows where the hours usually go and how to claw some back.
| Stage | What eats the time | How to save it |
|---|---|---|
| Arrival | Gate entry, register, waiting for the resident's approval | Send the truck number and crew names to the gate the day before |
| Packing | Loose items still in cupboards | Pack books, clothes and kitchen items yourself, or book packing a day earlier |
| Lift | Sharing a service lift with another move or deliveries | Get the slot and lift number in writing |
| Carry | Long walk from the tower to the truck | Ask which loading point is nearest your tower |
| Drive | Barricades and detours on Sohna Road | Check the route the evening before and agree a second one |
| Unloading | The new building's own gate and lift rules | Book the destination slot as carefully as the first |
Traffic rules can fix the clock as well. In a January 2020 reply on X, Gurugram Traffic Police listed two daily no-entry windows for heavy vehicles: the morning one from 8 till 10, the evening one from 5 till 9, stretched to 10:30 on Mondays and Fridays. Not every moving truck is a heavy vehicle, and advisories change, so we check the current position for your truck size and plan loading accordingly.
How do the Sohna Road works change the plan?
They make the route the first thing to check. Three things are going on around Sector 48 at once:
- Sewer cave-ins. On 7 May 2026 The Tribune reported the highway's sixth major cave-in since 2023, linked by officials to a damaged master sewer line, with the broken stretch barricaded.
- Metro construction. Wikipedia's Gurugram Metro article lists Sector 48 and Subhash Chowk as stations on Phase 1 of the new line, with work started in November 2025. Building stations on a busy road can narrow the lanes.
- New service roads. GMDA approved Rs 13 crore of works to ease traffic during that construction, The Tribune reported on 17 April 2026, including a road from Subhash Chowk to the SEZ meant for Sector 48 office-goers and residents near Central Park.
In the monsoon, add a spare day. The Tribune's August 2025 list of repeat waterlogging spots includes Sector 48 and Sohna Road. If the dates slip, goods can wait in storage for as many days as needed.
Lift, stairs or a basement: what access will you have?
It depends on which kind of home you are leaving or entering. Sector 48 has several:
- Township apartments. Central Park gives its head office address as The Median, Central Park Resorts, Sector 48, and its website lists Belgravia Apartments in the area. Expect a service lift, a booking and a loading point chosen by the estate office.
- Villas. The same developer lists Beau Villas. A villa usually means no lift wait but more stairs, and often more furniture than a flat with the same bedroom count.
- New towers. The Saavira in Sector 48, planned at 25 floors, is marked as still under construction on Wikipedia's tall-buildings list for Gurgaon. Moving into a newly handed-over tower means asking the builder's site office about ramps, lifts and working hours.
Before you fix the date, get these from the estate or society office:
- To do: The move form or gate pass, and how many days ahead it must be filed
- To do: The service lift number and the exact booking window
- To do: Where the truck stands, and whether the basement has a height limit
- To do: Hours when trucks may enter, including on Sundays
- To do: Any refundable deposit against damage to lifts or common areas
Where does the truck stand?
As close to the lift as the building allows, and never on the main carriageway of Sohna Road. Inside a township, the estate office names the loading point. If a basement or podium is too low for the truck, a smaller vehicle shuttles goods out to the large one waiting outside, which adds time, so ask about clearances early. Outside a gated colony, the truck parks in the service lane or the street beside the house, and it helps to tell neighbours the day before.
Busy addresses nearby add their own traffic. Omaxe Celebration Mall, with a multiplex and food court, is also in Sector 48 on the Gurgaon–Sohna Road, so avoid evening loading near its entrance.
What changes when the move is to a neighbouring sector?
Short moves between neighbouring sectors cost the same range as any move within Gurgaon, but the access at the other end can be very different.
| Moving to | Our page | What to plan for at that end |
|---|---|---|
| Sector 47 and Malibu Towne | Sector 47, Malibu Towne | Malibu's developer lists plots, a condominium and 444 independent floors, so it may be stairs or a lift |
| Sector 49 and South City 2 | Sector 49, South City 2 | Unitech lists apartments, villas, floors and plots; our South City II branch is in Sector 49 |
| Sector 50 and Nirvana Country | Nirvana Country | Its RWA's published move-out NOC terms, covered in our Sohna Road moving guide |
| Further down Sohna Road | Sohna Road | Newer tower societies with their own lift and loading rules |
For a written quote, send us both addresses and your preferred date.
This article is general information. Our prices are indicative ranges, and traffic rules, society rules and road works can change, so confirm the current position before you book.
