House shifting within or near Dwarka Sector 14 has no fixed price when both addresses are in Delhi: Maxx Relocation quotes those moves after a survey. For a home arriving from Gurgaon, the owner's indicative October 2026 figures start at Rs 7,000 (one bedroom) and stop at Rs 16,500 (three bedrooms), and how many crew hours you use inside that band depends mainly on whether your block is a stair-only LIG walk-up or one of the DDA blocks that climb to a fourteenth floor.
Pockets, landmarks and paperwork are what we cover as packers and movers in Dwarka Sector 14. This post sticks to money, time and access: what can be priced in advance, where the hours go in each kind of home, and which Delhi truck rules are in force in the last week of October.
What can be priced before the survey?
Only one route has published figures. The owner sets indicative bands for moves inside Gurgaon, for moves from Gurgaon to other cities and for vehicles by distance. For Sector 14, the bands that apply are the Gurgaon-to-Delhi ones on our Delhi packers and movers page:
| Home size (October 2026 figures) | Arriving from Gurgaon | Staying inside Delhi | Leaving for Gurgaon |
|---|---|---|---|
| One bedroom | Rs 7,000 to 8,000 | Survey | Survey |
| Two bedrooms | Rs 10,000 to 13,500 | Survey | Survey |
| Three bedrooms | Rs 14,000 to 16,500 | Survey | Survey |
| Four bedrooms or more | Survey | Survey | Survey |
| A single student or staff room | Survey (small vehicle) | Survey (small vehicle) | Survey (small vehicle) |
For a family car the vehicle band is Rs 9,000 to 11,500 on trips of up to 50 km, and a bike over that distance is Rs 3,000 to 7,000, through our car transport service.
Why so many "survey" cells? Because a short Delhi move can still be a long day. Two flats a few hundred metres apart may need very different crews, and a guessed figure would be wrong one way or the other. We would rather look first and put the number in writing.
Which Sector 14 homes take the most crew hours?
The sector holds very different blocks under one name. A crew's time goes on three jobs: packing, carrying to the truck and taking apart what will not travel whole. Each kind of home loads those jobs differently.
| Home | What the record says | Where the hours go | What we look at |
|---|---|---|---|
| LIG flat, Pocket 3 (Shaheed Bhagat Singh) | Listed by Dwarka Homes as DDA LIG flats | Carrying: less to pack, but cartons go down by hand | Stair width at the turns, floor number |
| DDA flats in Pockets 1, 2 and B, and Dwarka Greens | Radhika, Om and Kautilya apartments, plus the separate Dwarka Greens complex (same directory) | A mix: depends on the block, the lift and the walk from the truck | Which entrance the truck can reach |
| MIG flat, Pocket 5 | DDA's phase III e-auction list, dated 19 February 2024, offers 132 MIG flats in Blocks A to F, from the first to the fourteenth floor, each of about 116 to 132 sq m with one covered parking | Packing: larger rooms, more furniture; lift trips from upper floors | Lift size, booking and whether it can be held |
| One room near NLU | A bed, a desk, books and a few bags | Very little; the drive and the stairs are most of it | Floor, and when the house owner allows goods out |
The Pocket 5 row is the one a phone quote most often misjudges. At 116 sq m or more, those MIG flats have room for a lot of furniture, so a "2 BHK" or "3 BHK" label alone tells us little. Tell us the block and floor as well as the bedroom count.
The LIG row has the opposite trap. A small flat sounds quick, but on a walk-up every carton, mattress and cupboard part is carried, and on a narrow stair the loaders queue behind each other. Here an extra pair of hands saves more time than a bigger truck.
What changes if you bought a Pocket 5 flat from DDA?
A flat bought through the e-auction is empty when you get the keys, which helps: nothing has to come out before your goods go in. Three things still deserve a plan.
- Fit-out before furniture. If you plan wardrobes, a modular kitchen or new flooring, finish it before the truck comes, so the crew is not carrying around workers. Winter pollution rules can restrict dusty work from 1 November; our Dwarka Sector 19 post sets out the dates, and warehouse storage covers a gap if the work slips.
- The covered parking slot. DDA's list ties one covered parking to each flat. Ask whether a goods vehicle may stand in or beside it while loading, or whether it has to wait on the pocket road.
- The lift. Find out who manages it in your block and whether there is a booking register or a rule for goods. Ask early; the answer decides the start time.
How do the roads around Sector 14 shape the day?
Mostly through timing. A crew can start packing at 8 am, but the truck may not be free to drive every road at that hour.
- Towards Uttam Nagar or Janakpuri. A Delhi Transport Department notification of 2021, amended in 2022, keeps goods vehicles off Najafgarh Road between Vikas Puri and the Kakrola police picket in two windows, 7 am to 11 am and 5 pm to 11 pm. On a move north, we pack in the morning and drive after 11, or plan the whole day around the gap. Our Uttam Nagar and Janakpuri pages cover the far end.
- Inside Dwarka. Sector 12 and Sector 13 are next door, so on a move there the day is almost all packing and carrying. Our Delhi branch sits in Kartar Nagar, Sector 12, one sector across, which keeps the crew's travel short too.
- Into a Kakrola lane. When one end is in the village lanes, the big truck often cannot get near the door. A smaller vehicle then shuttles between the lane and the truck, and each shuttle adds time we show in the quote.
- Out to Gurgaon. These moves usually take the Dwarka Expressway, the access-controlled road that links Shiv Murti on NH-48 with Kherki Daula. Delhi's exit timing and the gate rules of the Gurgaon society are what we fix first; our Delhi and Gurgaon moving guide has the paperwork.
For the commute, schools and shops at the new address, our newcomer's guide to Dwarka Sector 14 goes into detail.
Which Delhi truck rules apply from late October?
Several dated rules overlap in the next few weeks. This is where they stood when we checked on 24 October 2026:
| Date | Rule | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Any day | A goods vehicle running in Delhi's restricted hours needs a No Entry Permission; long permits are applied for online, short ones of up to seven days by written application | Delhi Traffic Police FAQ |
| Since 21 October 2026 | GRAP Stage I is in force across the NCR, after Delhi's AQI went from 179 on 20 October to 244 by 2 pm the next day | The Statesman, 21 Oct; Zee Business, 23 Oct |
| 31 October 2026 | Outside-registered BS-IV goods vehicles reach the end of their one-year transition; we found no extension by 24 October (check) | WION, 30 Sep 2026 |
| 1 November 2026 to 31 January 2027 | Vehicles registered outside Delhi that are not BS-VI are kept out under the winter plan | The Hindu, plan of 28 Sep 2026 |
| If Stage III is called | The entry curb covers diesel LGVs and MGVs registered outside Delhi that are BS-IV or older | WION, 30 Sep 2026 |
What it means for you: if the truck is coming from Gurgaon or anywhere outside Delhi, ask its emission class and registration state when you book. An outside-registered BS-IV truck that could make the trip on 30 October could not enter on 2 November. Stage I itself mostly tightens dust control and emission checks, but the stage can change at short notice, so look at the current order the day before.
How can you keep the crew's hours down?
Most savings happen before the truck arrives:
- To do: Book the lift for the whole loading slot, not only the start, at both ends
- To do: On a walk-up, clear the stairwell and landings of shoes, plants and cycles the night before
- To do: Pack books and kitchen items you will not need in the last week
- To do: Measure a large sofa or almirah against the lift door and the stair turn, and tell us if it will not fit
- To do: Drain any water drum or tank you want moved, a day early
- To do: For a room near NLU, have the bags packed and the bed stripped before the van comes
What should you send for a written quote?
- Both full addresses: pocket, block and flat number, or the lane and house number in a village
- The floor at each end, and whether each block has a lift you can book
- The bedroom count and, for Pocket 5 or a similar flat, a rough list of the big furniture
- Any heavy or fragile pieces, such as a large fridge, a glass-top table or a piano
- A car or bike to send, and your preferred date and time window
Use our contact page to send them, and a surveyor from the Sector 12 branch will fix a visit. If you are still comparing sectors, our Dwarka sectors comparison sets Sector 14 beside its neighbours.
Treat this page as general information, not a quote. Every rupee figure is an indicative range the owner set in October 2026, while the housing figures and rules come from the dated sources listed above. Delhi's pollution rules can change at short notice, so confirm them again in the week of your move.
