Moving to Sohna Road means choosing one stretch of a long corridor, not one neighbourhood: tower societies in Sectors 47 to 49 and 67 to 72, townships such as South City 2 and Nirvana Country, and village homes and colonies around Badshahpur and Bhondsi further south. NoBroker's October 2026 figures put a 2 BHK anywhere from Rs 14,000 to Rs 51,899 a month, and even the PIN on your papers changes as you go south.
This guide is about settling in once you have picked a home: the address, the rent, the commute, doctors and schools, and the water and power questions to ask before you sign. Where exactly is "Sohna Road" when a listing says so?
Almost anywhere along 21.65 km. Wikipedia gives that length for the road, six lanes wide, between Rajiv Chowk and Sohna; it has been fully open since 11 July 2022. On NoBroker's two-bedroom page for Sohna Road, the homes tagged with the name sat in Sectors 33, 38, 47, 48, 49, 51, 67, 68, 69, 71 and 72, in Badshahpur and in a colony in Maruti Kunj. A listing that says only "Sohna Road" can therefore sit several kilometres from another with the same label.

Which PIN goes on your bank and school forms?
The one for your stretch, which may not be the one a property site prints. One locality guide we read gives 122018 for the whole road. India Post's data, checked on 28 October 2026, tells a fuller story:

Addresses on the same road use other numbers again: Artemis Hospital writes "Sector 51, Gurugram 122001". Before updating Aadhaar, a bank or a school file, take the PIN from a recent electricity bill or a parcel delivered to your own tower.
What does renting cost along the road?
NoBroker's Sohna Road pages, read on 28 October 2026, gave these October ranges:

The two-bedroom page splits its 251-plus listings by building type, and that is where the real choice lies:

The spread is wide because the label covers so much ground. A floor in a plotted sector near Subhash Chowk and a flat in a new tower beyond Badshahpur are not the same product, so compare rents only within one stretch. NoBroker itself names the water source, piped or borewell, as one of the things that moves the price, which leads to the next question.
Will the taps and the meter work the way you expect?
Ask before you sign, because both vary from building to building.
Water. In a report of 24 June 2026, Newslaundry listed Sector 70 among about a dozen "tail-end" areas at the far end of Gurugram's piped network, where any summer shortfall is felt first. Ask the society or landlord whether water arrives by pipe, borewell or tanker, how many hours a day it runs in May and June, and who pays for tankers when supply drops.
Power in towers. Societies on a single-point connection take one bulk supply and bill residents themselves. The Tribune reported on 16 February 2024 that Gurugram had more than 300 such societies, and only 15% of them had moved to DHBVN's unified billing system, launched in 2022 so that residents are billed for their own use at the set tariff. Ask for the per-unit rate on a recent bill, the separate rate for generator backup, and whether the meter is prepaid. If your house or builder floor has a separate DHBVN meter, apply for the name change through the DHBVN e-connection portal.
How do you commute while the metro is being built?
By road for now, and mostly by car, cab or auto. The Gurugram Metro article lists Sector 47, Subhash Chowk, Sector 48 and Sector 72A on the first phase of the new line from Millennium City Centre; construction started in September 2025 and remained under way in October 2026, and no opening date is given. Choose a home for the roads you can use today, and expect barricades and diversions near Subhash Chowk in the meantime.
If you will live well to the south and work to the north, the raised deck is your friend: ThePrint described it in July 2022 as an 8.94 km raised stretch that starts at Subhash Chowk and ends beyond Badshahpur. Where are hospitals, schools and shops?
It depends on the stretch, so we measured from three points: Subhash Chowk, the road beside Sectors 48, 49 and 69, and Badshahpur. The distances come from OpenStreetMap, with data of 27 October 2026, and are straight lines, so the drive is longer.

Read together, the tables show a pattern. The north end has Medanta about 1.2 km away, while around Badshahpur several smaller hospitals sit within about 0.6 km but fewer schools are mapped within 2 km: four, against nine around the middle point.
None of these maps gives fees, boards or open seats. If you are arriving mid-year, phone the schools on your shortlist before you choose a sector, and ask whether their buses reach your tower or colony.
What should you sort out in the first month?
- To do: Match the PIN to a bill and use the same one on every form.
- To do: Get the water arrangement, and summer tanker costs, written into the rent agreement.
- To do: Ask for the society's per-unit electricity and backup rates.
- To do: Note the nearest emergency entrance for your stretch: Medanta near Subhash Chowk, Artemis in Sector 51, or a trauma centre such as Sona Devi Memorial near Badshahpur.
- To do: Confirm school seats and bus pick-up points.
