Sector 37 has no society that publishes shifting rules: it is mainly an industrial sector, and its homes are chiefly in Khandsa village and a few small pockets that have no public RWA rulebook. What actually binds a move here comes from your landlord, from Haryana Police tenant verification, from the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) on waste and public lanes, and from the traffic police's no-entry hours for commercial vehicles.

How we handle the sector's units, offices and homes is explained under packers and movers in Sector 37 Gurgaon, and our Sector 37 costs post covers the price bands and crew hours. This guide is only about rules and permissions: who sets them at each kind of address, what is in print with a date, and what you must ask because nothing is.

Whose rules apply at a Sector 37 address?

It depends on what kind of home you are leaving or moving into. Wikipedia places Khandsa village inside Sector 37, and OpenStreetMap marks one small residential pocket, Saraswati Enclave, within the sector's outline. The rest is mostly factories, warehouses and offices.

Your home Who sets the rules Published moving rules, October 2026 Ask this
House, floor or room in Khandsa The landlord None found Notice period, deposit return, who files police verification
House in Saraswati Enclave or another small pocket The landlord or owner; any residents' group No RWA page or rules found Whether a residents' group exists and what it expects on the day
PG room The PG owner None found for Sector 37 Whether the building has approval for paying guests (check)
Flat advertised as "Sector 37" in a tower The society or maintenance office Usually in 37C or 37D, not 37 proper Lift booking and move-in papers; see our Sector 37D rules guide
Home beside a shop or small unit Landlord, plus the unit's own gate No published gate rules found Who signs a goods-out slip for business items

Where the table says "none found", we mean that a search of society, RWA and municipal pages on 27 October 2026 turned up no public text. That does not mean no one will ask you anything at the gate. It means the rules live in conversations, so put the important ones in a message you can keep.

What should your landlord put in writing?

With no RWA rulebook to fall back on, the rent agreement and your messages with the landlord are the record. Before you book a truck, settle these:

  • Notice and last day. The date you hand back the keys, and whether the rent for a part month is pro-rated.
  • Deposit. How much comes back, by when, and what deductions the landlord expects, such as paint or broken fittings. Photograph every room and the stair on the last day.
  • Meter readings. Note the electricity meter reading at handover, and who settles the final bill.
  • Access on the day. Whether a neighbour's frontage or a shared stair will be blocked for loading, and whether the landlord should tell them.
  • Goods that stay. Fans, geysers, curtains or a cooler that belong to the house, so they are not packed by mistake.

For a move into Khandsa, ask the same questions in reverse, and agree in writing who will apply for police verification.

Do you need police verification, and is there a deadline?

Plan for it on both ends of the move. In February 2020, The Tribune reported that Haryana Police had begun issuing digitally signed tenant verification certificates through its HarSamay citizen portal, so the certificate can be applied for and downloaded without visiting a police station. We could not confirm the current fee on the day we checked, so see the portal before you pay.

Gurugram has also used time-bound orders to make this compulsory. An order issued under BNSS Section 163, reported by The Logical Indian on 13 November 2025, covered housing societies, PGs, hotels, dharamshalas and house owners. It required registers of tenants, visitors, workers and guests, with copies of identity proof and police verification, and ran from 11 November 2025 to 31 January 2026. We found no renewal for 2026 (check with the police station that covers Khandsa), but such orders can return at short notice.

Keep identity and address proof ready for every adult, and a copy of the rent agreement. If you rent a room above or beside a working unit, the employer may also hold your details; that does not replace the landlord's verification.

Are PGs in Sector 37 covered by the 2026 crackdown?

Not that we can find. On 29 June 2026, PropNewsTime reported that Haryana's town planning department (DTCP) had asked residents of unauthorised PGs and guest houses to leave by 30 June, ahead of sealing drives, after inspections in areas such as DLF Phase 3. The report names licensed residential colonies, not Sector 37 or Khandsa.

If you are moving out of a PG anywhere in the city, a sealing notice can shorten your notice period to days. If you are moving into one in Sector 37, ask the owner whether the building has any approval for paying guests, and keep your payment receipts.

What does MCG expect on moving day?

No MCG rule names house shifting, but two of its rules touch every move.

Waste. Cartons, thermocol and broken furniture are not to be left on the road or an empty plot. On 12 March 2025, The Tribune reported that MCG's Sanitation Security Force had fined 210 people a total of Rs 30 lakh in three months for dumping at unauthorised places. The same report gave the civic helpline, 9015339866, for removing construction waste, at fixed rates of Rs 360 per tonne if segregated and Rs 720 if not. Old flooring or plaster from a repair before handover counts; ordinary packing waste is better sold to a scrap dealer or kept for the next move.

The lane. A village lane is public road. The truck can stand only where it leaves room for others, and for no longer than loading needs. Tell the immediate neighbours the date and hours the evening before.

When can the truck run through the factory area?

These are the dated orders that affect a Sector 37 move, oldest first:

Rule or order Content Published Your check
City no-entry hours No commercial vehicles on designated roads in a morning spell (8–10) and an evening spell (5–9); free digital permits for some firms, manufacturing units among them, at first for three months GMDA Digi Pass note, undated, read 27 October 2026 Whether your roads are designated
Republic Day curb Medium and heavy goods trucks stopped at the Gurugram and Delhi borders twice, overnight 22–23 and 25–26 January, each time 5 pm to 1:30 pm Millennium Post, 20 January 2026 A similar order before late-January moves
Manesar flyover works Heavy vehicles going from Jaipur towards Delhi barred between Pachgaon Chowk and IMT Chowk, 9 am to 9 pm daily The Tribune, 16 May 2026 Whether it still applies, for loads arriving from the south
Delhi winter curb Outside-registered vehicles that are not BS-VI, CNG or electric may not enter Delhi between 1 November 2026 and 31 January 2027 The Hindu, 28 September 2026 Ask for the truck's fuel and emission papers before a Delhi run

What is not in print matters as much. No factory in the sector publishes its shift timings, and we found no published trading hours for the Khandsa wholesale mandi either (check with neighbours). Ask the people in your lane when shift buses and produce trucks come through, and avoid those hours for loading.

For a Delhi-bound move, our Delhi house-shifting guide explains the capital's No Entry Permission.

Which questions should you settle before booking?

Put these to the landlord, the neighbours and, if needed, the unit next door, and keep the replies:

  • To do: What is my last day, and when and how will the deposit be returned?
  • To do: Who files the police verification at the new address, and when?
  • To do: Is there a residents' group in this lane or pocket, and does it want notice?
  • To do: Where can a truck stand without blocking a neighbour or a factory gate?
  • To do: When do shift changes and mandi traffic fill the lane?
  • To do: Will the truck need to load or drive inside the 8–10 am or 5–9 pm windows?
  • To do: Is the move inside Delhi's winter curb dates, and does the truck qualify?
  • To do: Who takes away cartons and any repair debris afterwards?

When the new place is not ready in time, our storage keeps your things until it is. If a shop or small office moves with the household, see office relocation so it is quoted separately.

Do the rules change the price?

Rules leave the bands alone. On our Gurgaon page, the owner's October 2026 indications for a move inside the city open at Rs 4,500 for one bedroom, topping out at Rs 7,000; they span Rs 8,000–12,500 when the home has two bedrooms and climb to Rs 12,000–15,000 for a home with three. A narrow window between no-entry hours, or a truck parked far from the door, can move the figure within the band. Our newcomer's guide to Sector 37 covers settling in after you arrive.

Key takeaway

In Sector 37 no society or RWA publishes moving rules, so get the landlord's terms in writing, arrange police verification through HarSamay, keep packing waste off the roads, and keep loading clear of the city's morning and evening no-entry spells. Check for any new Section 163 order and, for Delhi moves, the winter BS-VI rule.

Once both addresses and a date are fixed, write to us for a written quote. For what the crew does once it arrives, see household shifting.
