Moving in Sector 52 in the monsoon means planning around Ardee City's own gates and lanes: after a night of pre-monsoon rain in June 2024, The Tribune named the colony among Gurugram's worst-hit areas, with society entrances under water. In summer the bigger risk is the power supply, because the Sector-52 substation was one of seven that went dark on 22 May 2026, in a week of 42 to 44°C heat.

This guide puts the dated record for Ardee City and the Wazirabad side in one place and turns it into a moving-day plan for each kind of home in the sector. It covers weather and power only. The Sohna Road and dividing-road flood history is in our Sector 51 monsoon guide, and the Wazirabad rain-gauge readings are in our Sector 53 monsoon guide.

Which reports name Sector 52 or Ardee City in rain or heat?

We looked for news and portal entries from 2023 to October 2026 that name the sector, the colony or the roads a truck uses to leave it. These are the ones with a date:

Date Publisher What it says Why it matters for a move
Jul 2023 (updated 8 Jul) PropNewsTime Ardee City, DLF 2 and Sector 56 lost power without notice for 6–8 hours daily over a fortnight; water supply suffered too Long cuts in humid July, not only in May
28 Jun 2024 The Tribune Ardee City among the worst-affected areas after overnight pre-monsoon showers; society gates under water; 55 mm at Wazirabad The colony's own gates can block a truck
27 Aug 2025 The Tribune The SPR stretch at Wazirabad on the list of spots that flood every year The route to the 60s and 70s sectors
4 May 2026 The Tribune The Sectors 51–52 dividing road floods each monsoon; a rebuild with new drains approved The main road out may be wet, or under works
22 May 2026 News24 The Sector-52 substation among seven shut down; repairs expected to take 8 to 10 hours A heat-wave move can lose power for most of a day
9 Aug 2026 ANI, via NewKerala 155 waterlogging-prone points listed across the city after about 225 mm in two days Water took five to six hours or more to clear
13 Aug 2026 NoBroker review One property investor writes that tenants complain of power cuts and water problems every monsoon A resident view, not an official count

Two cautions. The 2023 power report comes from a property-news site, and the 2026 comment is a single review on a portal, so read both as signs, not statistics. And none of the reports names a street inside Ardee City; NoBroker's summary of resident reviews, undated, places the waterlogging near the Block C entry gates.

What happens at Ardee City's gates after heavy rain?

The gate is the first thing to check, because every truck has to pass one. In the Tribune's 28 June 2024 report, the rain had fallen through most of a Thursday night, and by morning children had missed school, people could not get to work because their vehicles were under water, and the entry and exit gates of several housing societies were submerged. Wazirabad's gauge recorded 55 mm, and the monsoon had not even been declared.

NoBroker's Ardee City page adds a detail the news reports do not: its summary of reviews lists monsoon waterlogging near the Block C entry gates among the colony's weak points. If your home is in that block, or the truck would use that entrance, ask the RWA office which gate drains first and agree that one with us in advance.

How long does the water stay? There is no Ardee City figure, but the city's own account is a guide. After two days of rain totalling about 225 mm in August 2026, the municipal commissioner told ANI that some flooded spots cleared in five to six hours and others took longer. So a morning that starts with water at the gate may be workable by the afternoon, or may not.

Our rule is simple: the crew never carries goods, and the driver never takes a loaded truck, through standing water. If the gate, the lane or the loading point is flooded, we wait for it to drain, and if it has not drained by the agreed time, we move the slot.

Which kind of Sector 52 home is most exposed?

Each of the four kinds of home in the sector meets the weather in a different way.

Home The rain risk The heat and power risk What we plan
Builder floor in an Ardee City block Goods cross open ground from the door to a truck in the street Water pumps stop in a cut, so the crew may have no running water Covers over every trolley run; drinking water brought from outside
Plotted house A stilt, garage or ground-floor store can take water A whole house to clear in one day of heat Empty low-level storage on a dry day; start at first light
Flat in a tower such as Palm Grove Heights The truck may wait in the open near the tower door The service lift runs only if backup power covers it Ask the estate office about a covered spot and generator cover
House on the Wazirabad side A narrow lane holds water longer than a wide road Small rooms and little shade for the crew A shuttle vehicle, and loading only once the lane is clear

Square Yards lists Palm Grove Heights as nine towers of three-bedroom flats inside Ardee City, so a tower move here works much like one on Golf Course Road. The other three kinds of home have no lift, which makes the stairs, the lane and the open ground the parts to protect from the rain.

The packers and movers in Sector 52 Gurgaon page explains how we decide at the survey whether a full-size truck can reach a Wazirabad house or a shuttle vehicle is needed.

Which routes out of Sector 52 should you check on a wet day?

Three, depending on where you are going:

  1. The Sectors 51–52 dividing road. After years of monsoon flooding, GMDA approved a rebuild with drains on both sides, The Tribune said on 4 May 2026. We found no report confirming that work had begun by late October 2026. Either way, a wet day or a dug-up lane can slow the first kilometre.
  2. The SPR at Wazirabad. The Tribune's August 2025 list of repeat flooding spots includes this stretch. Moves heading for the higher-numbered sectors often use it.
  3. Ambedkar Chowk towards Sohna Road. A flyover is planned at this junction; our Sector 52 rules guide tracks it with the truck-hour limits.

On the morning of a wet-season move, we check all three before the truck leaves, and we send the driver a pin for the exact gate.

What does the power record mean for a summer move?

It means planning for a cut, not hoping to avoid one. According to News24, when the main transformer failed at the power station in Sector 72 on the night of 22 May 2026, seven substations shut down together, Sector-52 among them. The outlet put the repair time at 8 to 10 hours, said day temperatures were running at 42 to 44°C, and noted a heat-wave alert for Haryana until 24 May.

Cuts in this colony are not new. In July 2023, PropNewsTime reported that residents of Ardee City, DLF 2 and Sector 56 had been losing power without warning for six to eight hours daily over a fortnight, with one Ardee City cut lasting from night until morning, and that water supply suffered as a result. The power company's engineer quoted in the report put the outages down to local faults and denied a shortage. Our Sector 52 newcomer guide explains who supplies electricity in the colony.

For a May, June or July move, that record turns into a short list:

  • Start early. Pack the evening before, and begin loading at first light, so the heavy carrying is done before midday.
  • Bring water. A cut can stop the pump on a builder floor; carry drinking water for the crew and the family.
  • Ask about backup. In a tower, check with the estate office that the service lift is on backup power, and how many hours that lasts.
  • Keep heat-sensitive things with you. Medicines, cosmetics, candles, vinyl and laptops travel in your car, not a closed truck.
  • Charge everything. Phones and a power bank should be full, since an outage can silence the intercom at either end.

Which months suit a Sector 52 move?

Months Dated evidence for Sector 52 Planning note
October to March No rain or power reports for Sector 52 in our list The easiest window; book a weekday if the RWA office must sign anything
April to mid-June Sector-52 substation down on 22 May 2026; 42–44°C that week Start at first light; confirm lift backup
Late June Ardee City gates under water on 28 June 2024, before the monsoon was declared Keep a spare day even for an early-season date
July to September Long cuts in July 2023; dividing road and SPR flooding; city drains slow in August 2026 Spare day; morning check of gates and routes

The table reads backwards from old reports and cannot predict next year. A booked fallback date does more for you than picking the right month.

What goes on your Sector 52 weather checklist?

  • To do: Tell us your block and house number, and which gate the truck should use.
  • To do: From July to September, agree a second date with us and, for a tower, with the estate office.
  • To do: Clear any stilt, garage or ground-floor store on a dry day before packing day.
  • To do: Check the IMD district warning the evening before, and the gate and lane that morning.
  • To do: In May and June, plan for loading to finish before midday.
  • To do: Keep documents, medicines, jewellery and chargers in a bag you carry yourself.
  • To do: Keep drinking water at both homes in case the pump stops.
  • To do: If rain delays delivery, ask us about storage before the day.

Everything else on the day, from packing to refitting beds, is part of our household shifting service, and the costs of the access itself are set out in our Sector 52 local shifting guide.

Does a monsoon or May date cost more?

No. The figures come from the owner's indicative bands, fixed in October 2026, which stay put through every season. Inside Gurgaon, a move starts from Rs 4,500 for one bedroom (top of band Rs 7,000), from Rs 8,000 for two (top Rs 12,500) and from Rs 12,000 for three (top Rs 15,000). Bound for Delhi, those three sizes sit between Rs 7,000 and Rs 8,000, Rs 10,000 and Rs 13,500, and Rs 14,000 and Rs 16,500. A rained-off afternoon can add waiting time or a few days' storage, which is quoted on volume and days. For what nudges a price higher or lower within a band, see our Gurgaon charges guide.

Key takeaway

In Sector 52 the weak points are close to home: Ardee City's gates flooded in June 2024, and the sector's own substation failed during the May 2026 heat. Agree the gate with us, keep a spare day from late June to September, start at first light in summer, and never let goods cross standing water.

Once a date is close to fixed, send us both addresses with the block and floor numbers.

This guide is general information based on reports read in October 2026. Drains, roads and power lines change from season to season, so check the latest IMD warnings and your RWA's notices before you fix the day.
