For an office moving into or out of DLF Cyber City, the riskiest weeks run from mid-May until late June, when the campus touched roughly 44 °C in a news site's table, and from July to mid-September, when NH-48 beside Cyber Hub has flooded and offices have been told to keep staff at home. None of the reports we found puts water inside a Cyber City building, so the season's real risks are the highway approach, the hours lost to work-from-home days, and heat on the IT kit.

Nobody lives on the campus; it is offices, so most of this guide is about office moves. Staff who move house nearby face the same roads, and a short section below covers them. Each report cited carries a date and names Cyber City, Cyber Hub, the Rapid Metro that serves it or the highway beside it.

Which dated reports name Cyber City or the roads beside it?

7 Jul 2026 About two hours of rain; police urged offices to let staff work from home Business Today
7 Aug 2026 Water on one half of NH-48 beside Gateway Tower metro station, near Cyber Hub Daily Jagran
24 Aug 2026 70 mm of rain before 1:30 pm; a large stretch of NH-48 near Cyber Hub under water DD India
25 Aug 2026 More rain; companies told staff to work from home; IFFCO Chowk service lane caved in ThePrint (PTI)
5 Sep 2026 (Sat) 36 mm in an hour; traffic crawling from the Sarhaul border to Rajiv Chowk The Pioneer

The 2020 item is old and we include it only because it names the area. The pattern since then is plain: the trouble sits on the highway and the junctions a truck must use, not, on the record, inside the campus.

Why is the highway the weak point for a Cyber City move?

Because every truck arrives from it. Our page on packers and movers in Cyber City explains that a vehicle cannot load on NH-48 or wait on the campus roads; it comes in at a booked time to the loading point the building names. When the approach floods, the slot is lost.

Two 2026 reports place the water right at the door. On 7 August, Daily Jagran wrote that one half of the expressway beside Gateway Tower metro station, not far from Cyber Hub, had filled with water and traffic slowed to a crawl. On 24 August, with 70 mm down before 1:30 pm, DD India reported a large section near Cyber Hub, opposite the same station, submerged. A truck bound for a Cyber City tower from Delhi passes exactly there.

The junctions around the campus have a longer record. A Tribune report of 22 June 2023 listed Shankar Chowk, the junction that serves Cyber City, among the logjams on a wet day. DLF says the campus has its own network of signal-free roads and six underpasses; we found no dated report of those campus underpasses flooding, which is a gap in the record, not a guarantee.

What does a work-from-home advisory day mean for an office move?

It sounds convenient, with empty floors and free lifts, but it usually means the roads are at their worst. Three 2026 dates show how often it happened:

  1. 7 July. After about two hours of rain, Business Today reported that Gurugram Police urged offices to let staff work from home. That day part of NH-48 also gave way near Narsinghpur, and with two lanes closed the queue stretched from Hero Honda Chowk towards Kherki Daula, a warning for any office bound for Manesar.
  2. 24 August. The district administration's advisory followed the flooding near Cyber Hub, as our area page records.
  3. 25 August. Rain returned, and several companies told staff to stay home again, ThePrint carried in a PTI report; a service lane of the highway at IFFCO Chowk caved in.

On such a day, three things go wrong for a move. The truck may not reach the slot. The facility team and the IT vendor who must disconnect and reconnect machines may not be on site. And the receiving building, if it is elsewhere in the city, has the same problem. If an advisory comes the evening before, we would rather move the date than load a half-staffed floor.

Does the power stay on, and what about the heat?

On power, Cyber City has an edge on one report. After the storm of 2 May 2025, the power corporation's superintending engineer told The Tribune that supply carried on as usual in Cyber City areas fed by underground cables, while overhead-line areas lost it. That is one storm, not a promise. On 22 May 2026, a transformer fire disrupted the Rapid Metro, which The Tribune described as a key feeder link for Cyber City office-goers. A crew that travels by road is not affected, but staff coming in to label desks are.

On heat, the readings are high and the season is long. A NewsX locality table put Cyber City at 44.1 °C on 20 May 2026; the figure comes from a newspaper's locality table rather than a named IMD station, so treat it as a rough guide. The season also ran late. As June closed, IMD's press release of 29 June still warned of heat wave pockets in Haryana for the next two days, and according to The Tribune the first monsoon rain arrived in parts of the state on 1 July.

What the heat changes in an office move:

  • IT moves early or late. Servers, UPS batteries, screens and printers are loaded in the first hours of the morning or after sunset, and the truck drives straight to the new loading point.
  • No waiting at the roadside. A truck full of electronics should not stand in the afternoon sun while a slot opens, so it is timed to arrive at the start of the slot.
  • Ask about the goods lift on backup. The facility desk can say whether the generator runs the goods lift and the server room's cooling during an outage.

Is a Saturday move safe in the rains?

Usually, but not always, and Saturday is when most offices load. On Saturday 5 September 2026, The Pioneer reported 36 mm of rain within an hour in the afternoon and traffic crawling on the highway from the Sarhaul border to Rajiv Chowk, the stretch that runs past Cyber City. Our weekend office moving guide for Cyber City sets out the evening-packing and Saturday-loading plan; in the monsoon, add these:

  • Load in the morning. Three of the 2026 rain days in our table (7 July, 25 August and 5 September) turned bad in the afternoon or evening, although 7 August followed a night of rain.
  • Hold a second Saturday from July to mid-September, agreed with both buildings.
  • Keep files and stock indoors and raised until the truck has reached the loading point.
  • If the new office cannot take delivery, the load waits in our warehouse rather than in a parked truck.

The permits, lease terms and truck hours are in our Cyber City rules guide, and the packing, desk coding and set-up are handled by our office relocation service.

What about staff moving house near Cyber City?

Homes are in the phases around the campus, and each has its own weather record. Our DLF Phase 2 season guide covers Sikanderpur and power cuts on rebuilt floors, the DLF Phase 3 guide covers Nathupur and low-lying rooms, and the Udyog Vihar guide covers the estate across the highway. The same rule applies to a flat as to an office: avoid the morning after heavy rain, and load early in May and June.

Which weeks of the year need the most slack?

Period Dated events How we plan
Mid-May to June 44.1 °C on 20 May 2026; transformer fire and Rapid Metro halt on 22 May 2026; heat wave expected on 29–30 June IT loaded early or late; check backup for the goods lift
July Work-from-home call after rain on 7 July 2026 Reserve date; watch for an advisory the evening before
August NH-48 beside Cyber Hub under water on 7 and 24 August 2026; offices empty on 24 and 25 August Second Saturday held; morning loading
Early to mid-September Saturday downpour, 5 September 2026 Keep the reserve date
October to April Nothing dated in what we found The easiest stretch for a full floor

The rows describe past reports only; next year may bring different weather.

What should the admin team confirm before a wet or hot moving day?

  • To do: A reserve date agreed with both facility desks for any move from July to mid-September
  • To do: Which gate and ramp the truck should use, and whether that route takes water
  • To do: Whether the goods lift and server-room cooling run on the generator
  • To do: An IT vendor on site for disconnection, even if staff are told to work from home
  • To do: Traffic on NH-48 near Gateway Tower and Shankar Chowk checked on the morning itself
  • To do: Servers and UPS units scheduled for early-morning or evening loading in May and June

Key takeaway

For Cyber City, the dated reports point to NH-48 beside Cyber Hub flooding on 7 and 24 August 2026, work-from-home days on 7 July, 24 and 25 August 2026, a rainy Saturday on 5 September, and about 44 °C in May with heat still forecast at the end of June. Move IT in the cool hours, hold a second Saturday in the monsoon, and pick October to April if you can.

Is a monsoon or summer office move priced differently?

The month makes no difference. We quote an office after our survey, on its seats, IT, packing and the length of the building's slot. For a staff member moving home inside Gurgaon, the owner's indicative October 2026 figures are 1 BHK from 4,500 to 7,000 rupees, 2 BHK from 8,000 to 12,500 rupees and 3 BHK from 12,000 to 15,000 rupees, and moves to Delhi and other cities are listed on our Gurgaon packers and movers page. Rain adds cost only if a delivery has to wait in storage.

Our crews work from 8 in the morning to 9 at night, six days a week, Sunday off. Tell us the building number, floor and seat count, along with the dates you have in mind.

This page offers general information only. Its facts come from the dated reports cited above, all checked in October 2026. Roads are repaired and each season differs, so check the forecast, any district advisory and your building's notices before the day.
