Office Shifting in Sohna Road: Planning a Weekend Move

A weekend office move on Sohna Road usually fits into one Saturday, because many offices in the corridor's IT parks are small units, but the permission comes from the park's maintenance office as well as your landlord. Settle that first, then pack on weekday evenings, shut the computers down on Friday, and load on Saturday between the morning and evening truck curbs, with a reserve weekend if the date falls in the monsoon.

What kind of office building are you in?

Much of the office space on the road sits in multi-tower business parks in Sectors 47 to 49, and some of them were sold unit by unit to different owners. Square Yards lists Spaze ITech Park in Sector 49 at 1,518 units on 10.71 acres, and one fitted office there measures 510 sq ft, on the sixth floor of Tower A, with a single dedicated parking spot. The same page names other office parks within about a kilometre and a half, including Vatika Business Park, Bestech Business Tower, JMD Megapolis and Vipul Trade Centre.

That gives three kinds of office move on the corridor:

If you are leaving a serviced centre for your own unit, the furniture for the new office is a purchase, not part of the move. If you are going the other way, the old furniture needs a home: it can wait in our warehouse while you decide.

Whose rules apply inside an IT park?

The owners', through their association's bye-laws, and the maintenance office that applies them. The Haryana Apartment Ownership Act is not only about flats. As amended, section 2 extends it to integrated commercial complexes, flatted factories, information technology industrial units and cyber parks, and section 24 makes the Act and the owners' bye-laws binding on tenants, on their employees and on any other person using the property. So a company renting a unit cannot rely on its lease alone; the park's procedure for lifts, gates and working hours applies too.

We found no moving rules published online for the Sohna Road business parks named above, as of October 2026. Ask the maintenance office, by email, for:

• To do: Its move-out and move-in form, and how many days' notice it needs
• To do: Whether Saturday and Sunday work is allowed, and the hours
• To do: Which lift may carry goods, and whether it can be held for your slot
• To do: The loading point, the gate the truck should use and how long it may stand
• To do: Any dues clearance, deposit or no-objection letter needed before the gate releases goods
• To do: Whether the electrician or the fire team must be present when you disconnect anything

Ask your landlord the same day about the condition the unit must be left in. The fitted unit in the listing above comes with the owner's air conditioner, fridge and water purifier; fittings like those stay behind unless the lease says otherwise.

Where does the truck wait while it loads?

Not in your parking spot, in most cases. A unit's single dedicated car space, like the one in the listing above, will not take a goods vehicle, and a park's basement may not take its height either. Before the day, check both ends: the loading point the maintenance office names, the route from your floor to it, and whether the truck has room to turn. Get that loading point confirmed in writing for both buildings, because a guard on a Saturday shift will only act on what is written.

A small office in a busy park also shares its lifts. Ask for the goods lift to be held during your loading slot, or for a quieter hour, so the crew is not waiting between trips while other tenants' visitors use it.

Which hours does the truck have on a weekend?

Plan the road in daylight, between two curbs. A traffic police note about the Vehicle Movement Digi Pass, kept on GMDA's server, says commercial vehicles may not enter designated areas between eight and ten in the morning or between five and nine in the evening, with permits for essential services such as healthcare and food supply. It carries no date and says nothing about weekends, so check with the traffic police, then plan a truck that reaches the park after 10 am and is empty by 5 pm.

Leave a margin for the unplanned. On Monday 5 October 2026, according to The Daily Jagran, citing the Hindustan Times, an unannounced sit-in outside the SCERT office left Sohna Road jammed for about 3 km, from the Rajiv Chowk underpass towards the District and Sessions Court, for two to three hours before the traffic police cleared it. That was a weekday, but the lesson holds on a Saturday: a hold-up near Rajiv Chowk can cost hours, so leave slack in the plan for any truck that has to pass the north end of the road. Which weekends does the weather spoil?

The monsoon is the bigger threat, and it has hit Sohna Road on a Saturday. These are the reports we used:

The Saturday entry is the one to plan around. Agree a second weekend with both buildings for a move that falls between July and the middle of September, and keep packed cartons and wrapped machines indoors until the truck has reached the loading point.

What does the weekend timetable look like?
