A weekend office move in Sector 32 is planned around the building more than the road: get the block's management to approve the date, goods lift and loading point in writing, and keep Saturday and Sunday for the physical shift alone. The paperwork that follows the move, from fire-safety contacts and e-waste handover to the GST address change due within fifteen days, should be ready before the last desk is unplugged.

This guide is for companies leaving or joining an office in Sector 32, Gurgaon. Every rule and report it relies on is named where it is used and collected in the source list below.

What kind of office building is it?

Most offices in Sector 32 sit in its institutional area, a set of numbered plots near NH-48. HSVP's January 2026 list of demarcation plans for the Gurugram zone includes plans for Sector 32 and for Sector 31-32 A, so the sector has an approved layout and plot numbers you can quote to a driver. The managed-office firm AIHP counts roughly ten buildings there, including Atrium, Skyline, Broadway, Spectra, Executive Center and Imperial, and several SCO blocks numbered 27, 29B, 31 and 34.

For moving purposes those buildings fall into two groups:

  • A multi-storey block on its own plot. It usually has a management office, a goods lift or a service lift, and its own rules on parking and loading.
  • An SCO (shop-cum-office) block. Offices sit above shops, the stair or the frontage may be shared, and a truck often loads from the road edge rather than a bay.

Ask which one you are dealing with at each end before anyone quotes. Our Sector 32 page covers homes and offices across the sector; this post is about the office alone.

How does a truck get to Sector 32 and away again?

Sector 32 lies on the approach to Rajiv Chowk, where NH-48 meets Sohna Road. The Sohna Elevated Corridor begins at that junction and has been fully open since 11 July 2022. For a mover, that means three likely approaches: from Delhi down NH-48, from the Sohna Road side, or across the city from IFFCO Chowk and the sectors west of the highway.

The photo above, taken in 2009, shows the highway near the 32nd Milestone, the stretch that a Delhi-bound truck joins from this side of the city. A developer, Raheja, describes its Atlantis project in Sectors 31 and 32 as sitting opposite the 32nd Milestone with direct highway access, which gives a sense of how close the sector is to the main road.

Staff who come to the new office by metro will use Millennium City Centre, the Yellow Line terminus in Sector 29, opened on 21 June 2010. It is outside Sector 32, so give people the last stretch by road in the Monday welcome note.

Which hours still matter on a weekend?

A weekend helps because office buildings are quieter and lifts are free, but the city's truck rules do not disappear. A Gurugram Traffic Police note published on GMDA's site sets the city's no-entry windows for commercial vehicles at 8–10 am and 5–9 pm in designated areas. The same note describes the Vehicle Movement Digi Pass, an online permit with a QR code that vendors in essential services can apply for; it says permits are free, depend on traffic density and road capacity, and were initially granted for three months.

The note carries no date and does not say whether the timings apply on Saturdays and Sundays. Treat them as current until the traffic police tell you otherwise, and plan the loading to finish before 5 pm or start after 9 pm.

Water is the second limit. Ahead of the 2026 monsoon, The Tribune reported on 29 April 2026 that quick response teams for waterlogging were being posted at Rajiv Chowk and Signature Tower, among other points. When the first heavy rain of the 2026 season fell on 7 July, the traffic police advised commuters to turn left at Rajiv Chowk onto the SPR, because a cave-in near Narsinghpur had shut two lanes of NH-48. For an office move between July and September, book a reserve weekend with the building at the same time as the first one.

Which fire-safety duties apply in a shared office block?

The Haryana Fire and Emergency Services Act, 2022 appeared in the Haryana gazette on 8 April 2022. Three of its provisions bear on a move into or out of a shared office block:

Provision Text of the Act Effect on moving day
Section 18(1) The owner or occupier, individually or jointly, must provide fire fighting installations and keep fire prevention and life safety measures working at all times Moving day is no exception: hydrants, extinguishers, fire doors and escape stairs stay clear and usable
Section 22 Every owner or occupier must appoint a Fire Safety Officer with prescribed qualifications Ask management who the building's officer is and send the move plan to that person too
Section 21(2) An owner or occupier whose fire safety certificate has been cancelled is not entitled to occupy the building Ask to see the building's current certificate before the lease is signed

In practice, agree a staging area for cartons that is not a corridor, a fire stair or a lift lobby, and keep the trolley route clear of hose reels. If the fit-out at the new floor adds cabins or partitions, check with the landlord that they stay within what the building's fire approval allows. Our post on office shifting in Manesar sets out the floor-area threshold that makes a building a "special building" under the same Act.

The Act allows the state to issue rules and notifications under it, so ask the building or the fire department whether anything has changed since 2022.

Which of your old equipment is e-waste?

More of it than most offices expect. The E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2022, in force from 1 April 2023, list the covered items in Schedule I. Beyond personal computers and laptops, the IT and telecom part of that list includes:

  • mainframes and minicomputers (code ITEW1) and copying equipment (ITEW7);
  • telephones, cordless phones and mobile phones (ITEW12 to ITEW15);
  • scanners, routers and modems (ITEW21, ITEW22 and ITEW26);
  • UPS units and inverters (ITEW24 and ITEW25).

A company that used at least 1,000 units of Schedule I equipment at any point in a financial year is a bulk consumer, and rule 8 says its e-waste may go to no one but a registered producer, refurbisher or recycler. Refurbishers and recyclers register on the online portal run by the Central Pollution Control Board, so ask for the registration before you book a pickup.

Make the scrap pile a separate job from the move. Mark the outgoing equipment with a different label colour, have it collected in the week before, and keep the handover papers. Wipe or remove drives first; your IT team owns the data, and the rules deal with the hardware.

How do you change the office address on GST?

File the change within fifteen days. Under CGST rule 19, a registered person whose particulars change must apply electronically in form GST REG-14, with documents for the change, within fifteen days of it. The address of the principal place of business is one of the particulars that needs the proper officer's approval. The rule says the officer should verify and approve it within fifteen working days in form REG-15, or issue a notice in form REG-03 if the documents are incomplete, which you then answer in form REG-04 within seven working days.

Rule 18 adds a duty that is easy to forget during a move: the registration certificate must be displayed prominently at the principal place of business, and the GSTIN must appear on the name board at its entrance. Order the new board in time for Monday.

The copy cited here is the GST Council's compilation of the rules as amended up to June 2021. Your accountant should check the current text and the portal's document list before filing.

What does the weekend look like, step by step?

When Task Who
3 weeks before Written approval from management at both buildings: date, hours, goods lift, loading point, truck number and crew names Office admin, with the mover's details
2 weeks before Fire Safety Officer's name at each building; staging area for cartons agreed Office admin
10 days before Scrap list fixed; registered recycler or refurbisher booked IT and admin
Week of the move E-waste collected; files and spare stock packed and labelled by department and desk Staff and mover
Friday evening Backups checked; servers, switches and desktops shut down and labelled IT team
Saturday Packing of desks and IT, loading outside the no-entry windows, drive and unloading Mover
Sunday Desks assembled, cartons placed, network reconnected Mover and IT
Monday Logins and printers tested; GSTIN board up Staff and admin
Within 15 days GST REG-14 filed for the new principal place of business Accountant

This plan follows how we run Sector 32 office moves: we send the building's facility team the move plan and get the loading point and the lift approved in writing, pack team by team, and label everything to the new floor plan. We move the hardware; backups and data stay with your IT team.

What will an office move in Sector 32 cost?

Office moves have no published price bands from us; the figure depends on what is being moved. The quote is built on the number of desks and chairs, the IT equipment, the files, the hours the building allows and whether the work runs after hours or over a weekend. If the new office is in another city, the move runs as a domestic relocation on NH-48. See office relocation for the service, while the Gurgaon page covers other sectors of the city.

Key takeaway

Get each building's approval in writing, name the Fire Safety Officer, load clear of the morning and evening no-entry windows until the traffic police confirm otherwise, clear the e-waste the week before, and file GST REG-14 within fifteen days of moving.

When you have a headcount, an equipment list and both addresses, ask us for a quote. Moving from next door? See Sector 31.
