Sector 61 suits a newcomer who wants a home that is ready now on Golf Course Extension Road: the main choices are flats in Pioneer Park, whose five towers of 33 floors were finished in 2020, and the newer low-rise floors of Smartworld Orchard, where the developer says possessions have begun. Plan the first week around what the sector does not give you on the doorstep: a metro station (the nearest is about 3 km away at Sector 55–56), a steady daytime water supply, and schools and hospitals, which are in the sectors around it.

Everything below is about the weeks after you arrive. The moving day itself, including first move-ins to newly finished flats, is covered on our Sector 61 packers and movers page.

Which homes in Sector 61 can you live in today?

Two kinds: flats in high-rise towers, and floors in a low-rise gated project. A third, taller project is still being built. Square Yards describes the sector's housing as running from builder floors to high-rise apartments, and the projects below are the ones we could match to a named source.

Project What it is Status, by source What a newcomer should ask
Pioneer Park Five residential towers, 125 m and 33 floors Complete, 2020 (Wikipedia) Which tower, which floor, and how the service lift is booked
Smartworld Orchard Low-rise 2 and 3 BHK floors in a gated layout "Possessions Started" on the developer's page Whether your block has a lift, and who runs maintenance after handover
Puri The Aravallis High-rise flats, 42 floors on Wikipedia's list Under construction Not one to rent yet; ask how site traffic uses your gate

Pioneer Park. Pioneer Urban, on its About page, says Pioneer Park and Urban Square were launched in 2009 as the start of its mixed-use estate across Sectors 61 and 62. A tower that has been lived in for some years usually has settled rules for lifts, parking and visitors, which makes a rental here simpler to plan than a first occupation.

Smartworld Orchard. The developer calls it condo living with the privacy of a floor, and says the project is a secure gated development. The registration line on the same page names the promoter as Suposhaa Realcon Private Limited, with HARERA registration RC/REP/HARERA/GGM/617/349/2022/92. If you are renting from a first owner, the sale papers may carry that company name rather than the Smartworld brand, so do not be surprised by it, and match the flat number against the owner's allotment letter before you pay a deposit.

Puri The Aravallis. The sources disagree on timing: Wikipedia shows 2027, while RERA Tracker gives 30 June 2029 for completion of the first registered phase. Either way, it is a building site for now. If your new home is near it, visit on a weekday to see how many mixers and material trucks use the road at school-run time.

How do you get around without a metro station?

By road for now, with the Rapid Metro a short ride away. Square Yards puts the Sector 55–56 station about 3 km from the sector. Trains on the Golf Course Road section of the Rapid Metro terminate at that stop, so anyone working in Cyber City can ride an auto or cab to the station and board the train.

For buses, Square Yards lists the Ullahawas Village and Pioneer Square bus stands, and the Sector 55 bus station, as the nearest stops, with Haryana Roadways buses linking the area to nearby cities. It also gives rough distances that help with the first trips out: about 21 km to Indira Gandhi International Airport and about 19 km to Gurgaon railway station.

The roads you will use most:

  • Golf Course Extension Road, the main road the sector stands on, linking towards Sohna Road one way and Golf Course Road the other.
  • Dayma Road, which Square Yards describes as a bylane bordering the sector that gives access to office blocks such as Magnum Towers and Good Earth Business Bay.
  • Samrat Nagbhatt Gurjar Road and Ch. Nandaram Marg, two of the local roads Square Yards names inside the sector; handy when giving a cab driver directions.

A Sector 61 station does appear in the plan for a future line from Sector 55–56 to Pachgaon, according to Wikipedia's Gurugram Metro article, but it is not built. Our Sector 62 newcomer guide sets out what is known about that timeline.

What should you know about water in your first week?

That supply has been a complaint, and that GMDA is changing where it comes from. Residents' reviews on Square Yards say water shortages during the day are frequent. Two GMDA documents from late September 2026 explain what is being done, and both affect Sector 61:

Date GMDA document What it says
25 September 2026 Public notice Partial shutdown for 48 hours from 9 am on 30 September to 9 am on 2 October 2026, for a 1500 mm pipeline joint at Almeda Chowk, Sector 71; supply affected in Sectors 47 to 51, 57 to 75 and Badshahpur village
29 September 2026 Press release A new boosting station in Sector 72, to be commissioned in October, will take over Sectors 58 to 80 from the Sector 51 station and supply them 95 MLD

The pipeline work was meant to link Sectors 58 to 80 to the new station, and the release says city-wide supply capacity will rise from about 720 MLD to 770 MLD once it runs. We have not seen a later GMDA notice saying the Sector 72 station is working, so treat the improvement as planned, not delivered, until your society office confirms it.

What to do about it in the first week:

  • To do: Ask the society or facility office how big the building's water tanks are and how long they last in a shutdown
  • To do: Ask whether the society orders tankers when supply drops, and who pays for them
  • To do: Run every tap, the geyser and the washing machine inlet on the first day, so a weak flow is found early
  • To do: Keep enough drinking water for two days in the carton that travels with you
  • To do: Check the GMDA news page for shutdown notices before you fix a moving date

Which schools and hospitals are closest?

Both are a short drive away rather than inside the sector, going by the sources we could confirm.

Schools. Square Yards names Gurugram Public School and Heritage Xperiential Learning School among the schools in and around Sector 61; both have campuses in Sector 62, and our Sector 62 guide gives their details. Two more are on or near Golf Course Extension Road:

  • Shalom Presidency School: its contact page places the school in Sushant Lok II, Sector 56, beside Golf Course Extension Road, and lists CBSE affiliation number 531528.
  • Scottish High International School: its contact page gives Block G, Sushant Lok 2, Sector 57.

Ask each school for its bus route before you sign a lease, because a stop at one gate of a large estate may be a long walk from another.

Hospitals. Artemis Hospital is in Sector 51 and lists a 24x7 emergency line on its website. Closer still, Marengo Asia Hospitals Gurugram in Sector 56 runs its emergency department round the clock, according to its website.

Tip

When you save the hospital numbers, also save your full new address with the project name, tower or block, and flat number. Sector 61 has towers, floors and office blocks side by side, and "Sector 61, Golf Course Extension Road" alone will not bring an ambulance to the right gate.

Is Sector 61 a good fit for your household?

That depends on what you need close by. This table sums up what the sources above suggest.

If you need Sector 61 offers Watch for
A ready home to rent Delivered towers at Pioneer Park; low-rise floors at Smartworld Orchard First occupants in new floors may still be fixing snags
A metro commute Rapid Metro at Sector 55–56, about 3 km A cab or auto for the first and last stretch
Work nearby Office projects listed by Square Yards in the sector, such as Emaar Digital Greens and BPTP Centra One Peak-hour traffic on Golf Course Extension Road
Reliable water A new GMDA boosting station promised for October 2026 Daytime shortages reported by residents until it runs
School and hospital Several within a short drive, in Sectors 51, 56, 57 and 62 No campus or hospital we could confirm inside Sector 61

How should you plan the move into Sector 61?

Plan it around the building you are moving into. A settled tower at Pioneer Park will have its own lift-booking routine, while a freshly handed-over floor may still have workers and unfinished paths around it. Once the keys are yours, get the facility office's rules on paper and pass them to your mover with the tower or block, floor and lift size.

Should the flat, or its water, still be unready on the day you must vacate your old home, our storage can hold the goods in the meantime. Local moving prices for October 2026 are set out in our Gurgaon moving charges guide, and if your date falls in the rains, first read our Sector 61 monsoon and summer-heat guide. General information only, compiled from the sources listed below. Project timelines, water supply, school details and hospital services change, so check each one with the society, GMDA, the school or the hospital before you rely on it.
