Moving to Sector 62: A Newcomer's Guide for Families and Renters

If you are moving to Sector 62, expect a sector that is still being built: five high-rise towers here are under construction with completion years from 2030 to 2034, so most newcomers rent or buy in projects already delivered, such as those in Pioneer Urban's estate across Sectors 61 and 62. The first-week basics are close by, with two schools inside the sector and a 250-bed hospital with round-the-clock emergency care on Golf Course Extension Road in Sector 56.

Which homes in Sector 62 can you move into today?

Mostly flats in gated high-rise projects, some finished and many not. It helps to split the sector into what is ready and what is coming.

Ready now. Pioneer Urban, on its About page, describes a 75-acre mixed-use development spread over Sectors 61 and 62, with commercial complexes and homes set among landscaped greens. It lists Presidia, Araya, Pioneer Park, Urban Square and Pioneer Square there as delivered projects. The developer does not say which of the two sectors each one stands in, so check the address on the lease or sale deed. Its page for The 54 at Araya gives its own office as Pioneer Square, Sector 62.

Still being built. The Wikipedia list of Gurgaon's tallest buildings places five launched, under-construction towers in Sector 62:

Conscient, the developer of Elevate Reserve, describes it as a mixed-use project of 3 and 4 BHK apartments with a three-level retail block, registered with RERA as No. 101 of 2023.

Two things follow for a newcomer. First, if you are renting, your choice is among the delivered projects, so start there. Second, with several towers going up at once, expect construction traffic on the internal roads for years; visit at a weekday morning before you sign, and ask the society whether trucks for the building sites use the same gate.

How do you get around Sector 62 without a metro?

By car, cab or bus, for some years yet. The Gurugram Metro article on Wikipedia says the project report for a line from Sector 55–56 to Pachgaon lists a station at Sector 62, but construction is not expected to start before 2029. Plan the school run and the office commute around a car, a cab or a bus.

The main road is Golf Course Extension Road. A May 2026 report in The Tribune described it as the link that residents of Sectors 58 to 67 depend on between Sohna Road and Golf Course Road, and said GMDA was about to start widening it to eight lanes, with new drains, footpaths and street lights. Diversions and narrowed lanes are likely while that work runs, so test your route at peak hour.

Golf Course Extension Road and the Southern Peripheral Road cross at Vatika Chowk, where a 0.822 km underpass opened in November 2023 to link the two roads and take traffic away from the junction's red light, The Tribune reported. If you will drive to Sohna Road, NH-48 or Manesar most days, that junction is your way out.

Which schools are in or near Sector 62?

Two schools have a campus inside the sector, and a third is a short drive away.

• Heritage Xperiential Learning School. Wikipedia places it in Sector 62 and gives 2003 as the year it was founded.
• Gurugram Public School. According to Wikipedia, it started in 2001, is affiliated to the CBSE, teaches from pre-nursery to class 12, and runs campuses in Sector 55 and Sector 62.
• Pragyanam School. Its own website gives the address as Emerald Hills, Sector 65, and the CBSE as its board.

Before moving day, settle these with the school:

• To do: A written confirmation of the seat and class, especially mid-year
• To do: The transfer certificate and any record the new school wants countersigned
• To do: Whether the bus route reaches your society gate, and at what time
• To do: Uniform and book lists, so they are not packed deep in a carton

Where is the nearest hospital?

On Golf Course Extension Road, in Sector 56. Marengo Asia Hospitals Gurugram, which used to be called W Pratiksha Hospital, lists its address on Golf Course Extension Road in Sushant Lok II, Sector 56. Its website lists 250 beds, an emergency department open 24/7 and an ambulance service it says reaches patients within 15 minutes of a call.

Where do you shop and eat in the first week?

Close to home, in the commercial blocks of the estates, and a short drive away in Sector 65. These have addresses we could confirm:

On the first night you may not have a working kitchen. Keep bedding, a kettle, cups, chargers, medicines and the next day's school bags in one carton that rides with you, not on the truck.

Which forms should a Sector 62 tenant file first?

The police check comes first, then the lease and the society's own forms. Haryana Police runs an online Tenant/PG verification service at Rs 50, open to either the landlord or the tenant, and a Domestic Help verification, also Rs 50, that the employer registers. Keep a copy of the request: your society office may ask for it.

A first-week list for renters:

• To do: Tenant verification registered, and a copy given to the society office
• To do: Domestic help verification done before a cook, driver or cleaner starts
• To do: Lease signed by both sides, with the electricity and water meter readings written in
• To do: The society's move-in form, access cards and parking sticker
• To do: New address updated with your bank, employer and gas supplier

How should you plan the move into Sector 62?

Plan around the building. A delivered tower usually has a facility office that books the service lift and approves the truck's entry, and the dates it offers may not match your lease. Ask for its rules in writing as soon as you have an address, and tell your movers the tower, floor and lift size.
