Moving to Sector 50: A Newcomer's Guide for Families and Renters

Moving to Sector 50 means choosing one of four neighbourhoods that share a single PIN code, 122018: Unitech's Nirvana Country, the W Block end of South City II, the Eros estates and a pocket of Mayfield Garden. There is no metro station in the sector, so most families drive, and portal averages in October 2026 put a two-bedroom rent near Rs 45,600 a month.

This guide is for families and renters arriving for the first time: which part of the sector you will live in, what rent looks like, how you will get around, and the schools, hospitals and shops that matter in week one. Which part of Sector 50 will your address be in?

Ask this before anything else, because the answer changes who runs your gate, what kind of home you get and who you call when a drain blocks. Magicbricks describes the sector as bounded by Sectors 47, 48, 49, 51 and 57, with Golf Course Extension Road along one side. Inside that boundary sit four quite different places.

Square Yards also ranks SS Hibiscus among the sector's projects with the highest listing rates. Visit at the hour you will leave for work, and walk from the gate to the door: on a large campus, the tower you are offered matters as much as the flat.

What does it cost to rent in Sector 50 in October 2026?

More than many neighbouring sectors, and much more inside the villa blocks. These are the monthly averages on Square Yards' Sector 50 page when we read it on 15 October 2026:

Two project ranges from the same portal give a feel for the towers: Rs 49,600 to 71,000 a month at Unitech Fresco, which the portal describes as 16 towers in the middle of Nirvana Country, and Rs 44,700 to 57,200 at Wembley Estate. The sector averages blend flats, builder floors and villas, so a villa or a large floor will sit well above the table. Treat every figure here as a starting point, compare it with three live listings for the same block, and ask the landlord in writing what the monthly maintenance covers.

How will you get around without a metro station?

By car or cab for most trips, with the metro a short drive away.

• Roads. Golf Course Extension Road runs along the DPS International side, and Unitech names the Sohna–Gurgaon highway as the township's other main link. Inside, the spine is the main Nirvana road, which Baani describes as 90 metres wide where Baani Square stands.
• Rapid Metro. The nearest station is the line's last stop, Sector 55–56, on Golf Course Road. Wikipedia's Rapid Metro article says that stretch opened in 2017 and that trains run from 6:05 am to 10 pm; it connects with the Yellow Line at Sikanderpur.
• The new metro. The Gurugram Metro article lists Phase 1 stations at Sector 47, Subhash Chowk and Sector 48, each with an expected opening of 2028, and says civil work began in November 2025. Until trains actually run, plan as if they will not.
• Ambedkar Chowk. The busy crossing where Sectors 45, 46, 51 and 52 meet is due a flyover. Amar Ujala reported on 5 July 2026 that GMDA had re-tendered it as a six-lane flyover of about 700 metres with a two-year target, so expect diversions there once building starts.

Drive your office and school routes once at the real hour before you commit to a home, starting from the gate you will actually use.

Which schools and pre-schools are close by?

Two well-known schools have Sector 50 addresses, and several pre-schools sit inside the township.

• Lotus Valley International School. It sits in M Block of Nirvana Country, according to a school directory.
• DPS International. In W Block of South City II, close to Golf Course Extension Road.
• Pre-schools and day care. Square Yards names Ipsaa Day Care and Pre School, Ipsaa Academy and Kangaroo Kids Preschool among the institutions nearby.
• Across the boundary. Square Yards' Wembley Estate page lists St Xavier's High School in Sector 49, and our Sector 51 newcomer guide covers the schools on the Mayfield Garden side.

Admissions, fees and bus routes change each session, so confirm them with the school. Ask, too, which gate the bus uses; in a township this size, the stop can be a long walk from your block.

Where are the nearest hospitals?

Just over the line in Sector 51. Artemis Hospital and CK Birla Hospital both give Sector 51 addresses, and the Sector 51 guide sets out what each offers. Square Yards' Wembley Estate page also lists Park Hospital in Sector 47 among the nearby landmarks. On your first day, save the emergency numbers, note which entrance is closest by car, and check which of these hospitals your health insurer lists as cashless.

Where will you shop in the first week?

Mostly within the sector:

• Good Earth City Centre. Its contact page gives its address as Sector 50, Gurgaon 122018.
• Baani Square. Baani describes it as a high-street retail project on about 3 acres, with cafes and restaurants.
• Nirvana Courtyard. The township's own market. Resident reviews on Square Yards complain of jams and cars parked on both sides of the road, so walk there or go at a quiet hour.
• Groceries and pharmacies. Square Yards names Le Marche, Sodhi Super Marche and True Bazaar for groceries, and Apollo Pharmacy among the chemists.

Shop lists change faster than portals update, so ask your neighbours which store delivers to your gate.

What should you sort out in the first week?

Use this checklist:

• To do: Your full address. Write the PIN (122018) and your block, pocket or tower on every delivery and bank form. Four neighbourhoods share "Sector 50", and couriers get lost between them.
• To do: Registration. Nirvana Country's RWA, a tower's estate office and the South City II colony all register residents in their own way; ask which one is yours and what it needs.
• To do: Tenant verification. It is filed with Haryana Police; our Sector 51 guide explains how, and the same service applies here.
• To do: Meters and backup. Photograph the water and electricity meters with the date, and ask what the power backup runs.
• To do: The school bus stop. Find it and walk it once with your child.

• To do: Hospital numbers. Saved on every phone in the house.

How does moving day work in Sector 50?

The kind of building sets the plan.
