The riskiest time to move in Sushant Lok 3 is July to September: in July 2024 Sushant Lok's roads were under three to four feet of water, which got into ground floors and basements, and the roads out of the colony, around the Artemis roundabout and Golf Course Extension Road, keep turning up on the city's waterlogging lists. Summer is the smaller problem, bringing heat and power and water shortages that named Sector 57 in May 2024, so October to March is the easiest window.
We used only reports with a date that name Sushant Lok, Sector 57 or the roads a truck takes to reach the colony, and we say where no report names it. For the crew, the van and a quote, see our Sushant Lok 3 page.
What have dated reports said about Sushant Lok 3 in rain and heat?
Here is everything we found, oldest first. Only one rain report names the third phase through its RWA; the rest name "Sushant Lok" in general, Sector 57, or the main roads around it.

What happened inside Sushant Lok in July 2024?
The water reached homes, not just roads. On 29 July 2024 The Tribune reported residents' accounts of water collecting three to four feet deep on Sushant Lok's roads, then spilling into the ground floors of several houses and into basements, where it ruined household goods. Pawan Yadav, president of the Sushant Lok Phase 3 RWA, told the paper that about 600 families across the affected areas had suffered damage, and asked what the civic bodies had done with their anti-flood meetings.
For anyone planning a move, two details stand out. First, the water got in at the levels where packed goods wait: cartons usually sit on the ground floor or in the stilt area until the truck is loaded. Second, nothing since then has said whether the phase's lanes now drain faster. The Tribune's April 2026 report on 159 citywide hotspots does not list the colony by name, and we found no 2025 or 2026 report about water inside Sushant Lok 3 itself. Treat that as no news, not as good news, and ask the people who live there.
An earlier storm shows the season can start early. On 3 May 2025, The Tribune wrote that about 45 mm of rain over three hours left Sushant Lok among the worst-affected parts of the city, without saying which phase.
Which roads out of Sushant Lok 3 go under water?
The ones a loaded truck needs. Sushant Lok 3 sits in Sector 57, and most routes out run along the sector-dividing road towards Sectors 50 and 51 or out to Golf Course Extension Road.
- Around Artemis Hospital. In April 2024 civic agencies already counted the stretch near the hospital as prone to flooding, and in August 2025 The Tribune described the Artemis roundabout as a notorious choke point that goes under year after year, with Sector 51 on the list of affected sectors.
- Golf Course Extension Road. PTI reports carried by The Week placed it among waterlogged roads on 10 July 2025 and again on 31 July 2025, when Sector 56 Road was also nearly submerged. On 6 September 2026, The Pioneer listed it among the worst-hit stretches after 36 mm fell in an hour.
- The sector-dividing road. We found no flood report that names it. It does have a traffic history: in July 2024 enforcement teams cleared roughly 2 km of its service road, which had been choked for years. On a wet evening, expect the jam from the roundabout to back up along it.
If you are heading towards Sohna Road or the sectors beyond Artemis, our Sector 51 monsoon and heat guide covers the roads on that side.
What does summer heat mean for a Sushant Lok 3 move?
Power and water more than temperature. In the last week of May 2024, The Tribune listed Sushant Lok and Sector 57 among many areas going without reliable power and water, and explained the link: when the electric pumps stop, the taps stop too. The city's power use climbed as the maximum went from 45.3 °C on 20 May to 47 °C on 29 May. Less than three weeks later the IMD put Gurugram on a red alert, with the day peaking at 45.1 °C and the night staying at 32.2 °C. We found no heat report from 2025 or 2026 that names Sushant Lok 3, so these are the latest figures that do.
That matters here because many Sushant Lok 3 buildings are floors reached by stairs, where every wardrobe and carton is carried by hand. Our routine for a hot-weather move:
- Start loading at first light. The heaviest pieces leave before the stairwell heats up.
- Fill tanks the night before. If the pump stops, the crew and your family still have water.
- Charge phones and power banks. A cut in the evening makes the last checks harder.
- Keep electronics out of a parked truck. Televisions and laptops go on last and come off first.
- Carry medicines, plants and pets in your own car. None of them belong in a closed truck in May.
- Build in shade breaks. A crew carrying down three floors at 45 °C needs them.
What should ground-floor and basement tenants check before the rains?
Plenty of Sushant Lok 3 tenants live in exactly the spaces the July 2024 water reached, so check these before you fix a date:
- To do: Ask the owner or RWA how high water came in your lane and building in the last heavy rain.
- To do: Keep packed cartons off the floor, on a bed frame or table, until the truck arrives.
- To do: Move papers, laptops and chargers to an upper floor or your car the night before.
- To do: Photograph the room and any old water stains at handover, so a deposit dispute starts from evidence.
- To do: Note the meter readings with the owner present.
- To do: Agree a back-up day with the movers in case the lane floods that morning.
If your building is also facing an enforcement notice for PG or commercial use, the timing question is covered in our Sushant Lok 1, 2 and 3 comparison.
Which months are safest for a Sushant Lok 3 move?
| Months | What the dated reports show | How to plan |
|---|---|---|
| October to March | No report for the colony or its roads | Normal planning |
| April to mid-June | 45 mm storm in early May 2025; power and water shortages in May 2024; red alert in June 2024 | Dawn start, tanks filled, electronics last on |
| Late June to September | Water in homes in July 2024; Golf Course Extension Road and the Artemis roundabout flooded in 2025 and 2026 | Morning slot, back-up day, goods kept off the floor |
How do we plan a rainy-season move in Sushant Lok 3?
The plan on our Sushant Lok 3 page holds for the season. Between July and September, furniture gets a plastic wrap and we keep an eye on the forecast. If a road is under water, the truck waits for it to drain rather than driving through. We keep a loaded truck off the dividing road at the evening peak. A single PG room usually fits in a small van, which needs less kerb space in a wet lane. Goods can also go into our warehouse for a while if the next home is not ready.
Key takeaway
In Sushant Lok 3, the July 2024 rain put water into ground floors and basements, and the Artemis roundabout and Golf Course Extension Road flood most years. An October-to-March date is easiest; in any other month, begin at dawn, keep a spare day and lift everything off the floor.
For the wider sector, see our Sector 57 page and the neighbouring Sushant Lok 2 page. The household shifting page explains how a crew packs and loads, and a quote request can go in as soon as your date is set.
Everything here is general information, drawn from the dated reports in the source list. Drains, power and traffic shift every season, so read the IMD forecast, ask your RWA and look for any traffic police advisory before moving day.
