In Sushant Lok 1 the risky stretches for a move are the second half of May, when the city topped 44 °C in 2026, and July to late August, when heavy rain has flooded the colony's lanes and jammed the roads out of it at IFFCO Chowk and Golf Course Road. Only one dated report we found names Sushant Lok 1 itself; most say "Sushant Lok" without a phase, and the table below marks which is which.
Most moves here are small: one room, a studio, or one flatmate's part of a shared flat in a stilt-plus-four building, often with no lift that takes furniture. So the weather mostly bites in two places, the walk from the door to the vehicle and the stairs between them.
Which reports name Sushant Lok 1, and which only say "Sushant Lok"?
Read the "place named" column closely. A report about "Sushant Lok" may mean Phase 1, 2 or 3, and the city's roads appear more often than the colony.
| Date | Place named | What was reported | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| 29 Jul 2024 news item; NGT, Aug 2024 | Sushant Lok 1 | Sewers overflowing onto the colony's streets for two years | India Legal |
| 11 Aug 2024 | "Sushant Lok area"; Golf Course Road | The area worst hit, flooding houses and cars; RWA says drains not cleaned | The Tribune |
| 9 Jul 2025 | "Sushant Lok" | Water in basements and ground floors | The Tribune |
| 7 Jul 2026 | IFFCO Chowk; Millennium City Centre road | Waterlogging jams in the first downpour of the 2026 monsoon | The Tribune |
| 11 Jul 2026 | "Sushant Lok" | Among the worst-affected places, per MCG and GMDA | The Tribune, quoting officials |
| 28 Jul 2026 | Sector 28 near Chakkarpur; Golf Course Road, MG Road | One of GMDA's six remaining hotspots; police posted on both roads | The Tribune; ThePrint (PTI) |
| 25 Aug 2026 | IFFCO Chowk | NH-48 service lane caved in after a sewer leak; district advisory | ThePrint (PTI) |
Two points stand out. First, the clearest local evidence is about sewers as much as rain. Second, the 2026 entries are mostly about the roads you take to leave, which matters as much as your own lane on the day.
What does the NGT sewer case tell you about a wet moving day?
That standing water at the gate may not be clean rainwater. In August 2024 the National Green Tribunal took up the matter on its own motion, India Legal reported, after a news item of 29 July 2024 described sewer lines in Sushant Lok 1 that had not been desilted for two years, with wastewater backing up onto the streets. The report said the corporation had set aside Rs 30.7 lakh to desilt the lines with a bucket machine, but no work had been done, despite repeated complaints from the RWA. The tribunal named the Municipal Corporation, the District Magistrate, the Central and Haryana pollution control boards and the environment ministry as respondents, and listed the case for 12 November 2024. We did not find the outcome, so check the matter's status if it affects your block.
On the day, that changes small things:
- Shoes and floors. Lay old sheets or cartons inside the door so the crew's wet shoes do not track dirt through the new home.
- Mattresses and sofas. These soak up dirty water fastest; wrap them fully, not just the top.
- Nothing on the ground. Cartons wait indoors until the vehicle is at the gate, then go straight in.
Which roads out of the colony give trouble in heavy rain?
IFFCO Chowk, Golf Course Road and the road towards Hero Honda Chowk, on the dated reports.
- IFFCO Chowk. On 7 July 2026, the first heavy downpour of that monsoon, when parts of the city logged 82 mm, The Tribune listed IFFCO Chowk and the road from Millennium City Centre to Hero Honda Chowk among the jammed stretches. On 25 August 2026, after about 70 mm fell in 35 minutes, a service lane of NH-48 caved in at IFFCO Chowk and was barricaded while GMDA fixed a leaking sewer line, PTI reported via ThePrint. In line with a district advisory, schools held classes online that day and several companies told staff to work from home.
- Golf Course Road. The Tribune put it among the worst-affected roads on 11 August 2024, and in April 2026 recalled that the July 2025 downpour of 133 mm in 12 hours had submerged it along with NH-48.
- Sector 28 near Chakkarpur. When GMDA's list of vulnerable spots fell to six on 28 July 2026, The Tribune included this one. The list does not mention Sushant Lok 1, but part of the colony carries a Sector 28 address, such as the Silverglades Hightown towers, so if yours does, ask how far that spot is from your gate. Our DLF Phase 4 monsoon guide covers the Chakkarpur side in more detail.
The same day, 28 July 2026, about 35 mm fell in roughly 40 minutes and more than 50 areas waterlogged, PTI reported; the traffic police said they had staff on Golf Course Road and MG Road. Short, sharp showers like that are the pattern to plan for. Officials told The Tribune that day that water had drained within two hours at most locations, so waiting out a downpour usually beats driving through it.
How hot does May get, and when should the carrying stop?
Hot enough that the work should finish by late morning. On Tuesday, 19 May 2026, Amar Ujala recorded the city's high at 44.6 °C, with an overnight low of 27 °C; no earlier day that season had been hotter. By 22 May the district's orange heat warning had been stretched to 26 May, with residents advised not to go out from 11 am until 4 pm. These are city figures; we found no reading for the colony.
That advisory gives a ready plan for a summer move:
- Start at first light. For a room on the fourth floor of a stilt-plus-four building, aim to have the last carton down before 11 am.
- Heavy pieces first. The bed, fridge and cooler go down while the stairwell is coolest; cartons follow.
- Rest in the shade. Breaks happen indoors or in the stilt, not in the lane, as long as the stilt stays clear for the neighbours' cars.
- Ride with the delicate things. Medicines, a laptop, candles, cosmetics and plants go in your bag or car, not in the cargo box.
- Unload before the afternoon. If the new home is far, a mid-afternoon arrival means carrying in the worst heat, so split the job or store it overnight in our warehouse.
What changes inside the building on a wet or hot day?
It depends on the home, not the block letter.
- A room or studio in a stilt-plus-four building. The staircase is shared and gets slippery once wet shoes start on it. Someone posted at the foot of the stairs can stop other tenants meeting a wardrobe halfway, and cartons need extra tape when the air is damp.
- A flat in a tower. A tower move runs through a lift and a basement, so ask the maintenance office whether the basement took water in the 2026 rains and where the vehicle can stand if it floods. Book the earliest lift slot in summer.
- A ground floor or basement room. This is the one the July 2025 report described: water inside basements and ground floors of Sushant Lok houses. Pack the lowest shelves and floor-level storage first, a day early, and lift everything onto beds or tables overnight.
Which weeks carry the most risk?
Set out month by month, the record reads as follows.
| Weeks | What the reports say | What we plan |
|---|---|---|
| Mid-to-late May | 44.6 °C on 19 May 2026; orange alert to 26 May | Start at first light; done by 11 am |
| Early July | IFFCO Chowk jams, 7 Jul 2026; basements flooded, 9 Jul 2025 | Watch the forecast; keep a spare day |
| Mid-to-late July | Sushant Lok on the worst-hit list, 11 Jul 2026; sewer complaint, 29 Jul 2024 | Avoid the morning after heavy rain |
| August | Worst-hit area, 11 Aug 2024; IFFCO Chowk lane cave-in, 25 Aug 2026 | Flexible date for an intercity move |
| October to March | No dated trouble in what we found | The calmer window, though not a forecast |
What should you sort out in the week before?
Seven checks for this colony:
- To do: Ask a neighbour whether your lane or basement took water in 2026
- To do: Check whether the drain or sewer outside your gate overflows in rain
- To do: Look at the traffic at IFFCO Chowk and on Golf Course Road before the vehicle sets off
- To do: Keep one spare day around any date between July and early September
- To do: For a May or June date, agree a sunrise start and keep water on every landing
- To do: Keep documents, medicines and phone chargers in a waterproof pouch that stays with you
- To do: Give the full address: block, house number and the sector on your bill

Will rain or heat put the price up?
They will not move the band. Our owner fixed these indicative figures in October 2026 for homes moving within Gurgaon, and they hold all year:
| Home | From (Rs) | Up to (Rs) |
|---|---|---|
| 3 BHK | 12,000 | 15,000 |
| 2 BHK | 8,000 | 12,500 |
| 1 BHK | 4,500 | 7,000 |
A single room or studio sits outside the bands and is priced from your item list; where a quote falls inside a band depends mostly on the floor, the stairs and how close the vehicle can get. Moves to Delhi and other cities are on our Gurgaon packers and movers page, and how we handle rooms, studios and shared flats is on our page for packers and movers in Sushant Lok 1.
Key takeaway
In Sushant Lok 1, the dated reports point to flooded lanes, overflowing sewers and jammed exits at IFFCO Chowk and Golf Course Road from July to late August, and to 44 °C days in late May. In summer, finish the stair carry before 11 am; in the rains, leave a free day either side of the date.
Once you have a date in mind, message us the block, house number, sector and floor, say whether there is a lift, and list what is moving.
Read this page as general guidance for Sushant Lok 1 residents, with each fact tied to a dated source above. Drains get cleaned, hotspot lists are revised and court cases move on, so check the weather and walk your own street a day or two before the vehicle comes.
