In Sushant Lok 2 the monsoon threat is water inside the colony: on 29 July 2024 The Tribune named Sushant Lok 2 among the areas hit by heavy waterlogging, with residents describing three to four feet of water on Sushant Lok roads. The summer threat is a dry tap more than the heat itself, after residents of its blocks went days without piped water in April and May 2026.

This guide uses only dated reports that name Sushant Lok 2, the "Sushant Lok" colonies, Sectors 55 to 57, or the roads that lead out of them. Several reports say only "Sushant Lok", without a phase, and we flag each one. Addresses in this phase fall in more than one sector: Gurugram Public School is at Plot 5 in Sector 55, while the D Block homes in the Newslaundry report are in Sector 56. For the crew, packing and a quote, see our Sushant Lok 2 page.

Which dated reports name Sushant Lok 2 or its roads?

These are the reports we found, oldest first. The third column shows exactly what each one names, so you can judge how close it comes to your block.

6 Sep 2026 The Pioneer Golf Course Extension Road Named with Sohna Road and Rajiv Chowk as badly hit; 36 mm in one hour

Why does a summer move here start with the water tank?

Because the latest dated report on Sushant Lok 2 is about water, not temperature. On 24 June 2026 Newslaundry reported that a resident of A1 Block had no piped water on five to six days a week through April and May, and called a tanker twice a week. A D Block resident in Sector 56 needed tankers four times across those two months. Residents of B1 Block told the site that they needed three tankers a week for basic use.

The same report explains the shortfall in the operators' words:

  • Sector 55 booster. Power cuts were the constraint, the operator said: about 11.5 lakh litres needed per cycle, barely 4 lakh supplied by GMDA, and tubewells making up the rest. He claimed only about 60 in every 100 households get water in summer.
  • Sector 56. An operator said tubewells were running 15 to 16 hours at a stretch to compensate.
  • F and G blocks of Sushant Lok 2. An operator put pipeline supply at around 7 to 10 lakh litres a day, with tubewells covering the gap.

The link between heat, power and water is older than 2026. On 31 May 2024 The Tribune listed Sushant Lok and Sectors 56 and 57 among areas short of both electricity and water, as city demand jumped more than 15 per cent in a week. The day's maximum reached 47°C on 29 May. No report gives a temperature reading for the colony itself, so treat those figures as the city's.

What this means on moving day:

  1. Check the overhead tank two days ahead. A dry tank leaves nothing to clean the old floor or wash hands after the carry.
  2. Book a tanker in advance if you need one. The Sushant Lok 2 RWA's joint secretary quoted Rs 700 to 1,000 for 4,000 litres into an underground tank and Rs 1,500 to 2,000 into an overhead tank, in June 2026. Rates change with demand, so check.
  3. Ask the new landlord the same question. Find out whether the floor you are moving into has its own tank or shares one, and when it last filled.
  4. Keep drinking water for everyone carrying. A stair carry in May with no water in the taps is hard on the crew and your family.

As our Sushant Lok 2 page says, in summer we start loading at first light and keep electronics and medicines out of the sun.

What did the rains do inside the colony in 2024 and 2025?

They reached homes and parked cars. The July 2024 flooding is the only report that names this phase, and our Sushant Lok 3 season guide covers it in detail. The Tribune's report adds that the Haryana minister asked for drains and stormwater lines in Sushant Lok 2 and 3 to be cleaned on priority, and for the roads there to be repaired.

Two weeks later it happened again. After a Sunday of heavy rain, The Tribune said on 12 August 2024 that the Sushant Lok area was the worst hit, flooding once more and damaging houses and cars. It quoted the Sushant Lok Resident Welfare Association as saying the drains had not been cleaned before the monsoon. The report does not say which phase.

In 2025 the water came early in the season. A Tribune report of 11 July 2025 said water entered basements and ground floors in Sushant Lok, with parked cars flooded too. And in July 2026, after 115 mm fell in 33 hours, MCG and GMDA officials named Sushant Lok among the worst-affected locations. Neither report names the phase, and we found no 2025 or 2026 report that says whether the lanes of Sushant Lok 2 now drain faster.

For a move, that points to the levels to watch: the ground floor, the stilt and any basement store. Our Sushant Lok 2 page says we pack those rooms first and keep cartons raised off the floor. If you park in a low lane, move the car to higher ground before a heavy spell on moving day.

Which roads can cut off a truck from Sushant Lok 2?

The main roads out of the colony.

  • Sector 56 Road and Golf Course Extension Road. A PTI report carried by The Week on 31 July 2025 described both as almost submerged, with traffic at a standstill. On 6 September 2026, The Pioneer named the Extension Road, with Rajiv Chowk and Sohna Road, among the worst-affected areas when an hour's rain brought 36 mm.
  • Golf Course Road. In August 2025 The Tribune counted it, along with the Golf Course Extension, among places that flood monsoon after monsoon.

One older finding matters most in a flood. In February 2024 a GMDA adviser inspected the Extension Road from Vatika Chowk to Ghata village, and The Tribune reported that footpaths were missing and the slabs covering the roadside drains were gone at most points. We have not seen a report saying they were all replaced. Under brown water, an uncovered drain cannot be seen. That is why, as our Sushant Lok 2 page puts it, a loaded truck waits until a flooded lane drains instead of pushing through, and why no one should wade along that road's edge with a carton.

For the Sector 55 and 56 side of these roads, see our Sector 56 monsoon and heat guide and the Sector 55 guide.

Which months suit a Sushant Lok 2 move?

Months Dated evidence for Sushant Lok 2 Planning
October to March No rain or water-shortage report for the colony in these months The easiest window; check for road repairs near your gate
April to June Power and water shortages in May 2024; days without piped water in April–May 2026 Morning start, tank checked, tanker booked if needed
July to September Colony flooding in July and August 2024 and July 2025; main roads under water in July 2025 and September 2026 A spare date, ground-floor rooms packed first, route checked that morning

What should you sort out before a monsoon move?

  • To do: Hold a second date in case the colony roads or the Extension Road are under water.
  • To do: Ask neighbours or the RWA how high the water came in your lane in the last heavy rain.
  • To do: Clear the basement store and the ground-floor rooms first, and lift cartons onto beds or tables.
  • To do: Carry papers, laptops and medicines in your own car in sealed bags.
  • To do: If the new home is not ready, ask about our warehousing before the day, not on it.
  • To do: The night before, read the IMD forecast and look for traffic police advisories for Gurugram.

Will the season change your bill?

No. Rain and heat do not change the owner's indicative ranges (October 2026). A move inside Gurgaon costs between Rs 12,000 and 15,000 if you have three bedrooms, between Rs 8,000 and 12,500 with two, and between Rs 4,500 and 7,000 with one. Storage between homes is extra and priced on the volume and the number of days. Our Gurgaon charges guide explains what else changes a quote.

Key takeaway

Sushant Lok 2 was named in the July 2024 flooding, and "Sushant Lok" reports followed in August 2024, July 2025 and July 2026. Sector 56 Road and Golf Course Extension Road went under in July 2025 and September 2026. In summer the problem is water: blocks here went days without supply in April and May 2026. October to March is the easiest time to move.

If you are still weighing the three phases, our phase-by-phase comparison sets them side by side. Once the date is fixed, tell us about the move.

Please read this page as general information. Its facts come from the reports listed under sources, each with its date, and none of them describes a particular block or building as it is today. Because drains, roads and water supply shift between seasons, look at the latest IMD forecast, Gurugram traffic police advisories and RWA notices before moving day.
