Moving in Sector 108 in the monsoon is less about water inside the sector, which no dated report we found describes, and more about the long walk from truck to tower across its very large campuses, a lift that needs backup power when the grid fails, and the road into Delhi. In summer the pressure is heat: Gurugram's thermometers read 44.6°C on 19 May 2026, and tall towers make the lift, not the crew, the slow part of the day.
This guide goes live at the end of October, after the 2026 rains have gone, so it covers the fog-and-smog months now beginning, what next May and June will ask of you, and how to book around the 2027 monsoon. The townships, gates and villas are described under packers and movers in Sector 108 Gurgaon, the estate-office paperwork in our Sector 108 rules guide, and price bands and crew hours in the Sector 108 costs post.
What has the record shown for Sector 108 and its roads?
Nothing that names the sector itself. We searched in October 2026 for reports of standing water, outages or water cuts in Sector 108, its main townships and Dharampur village, and found none with a date. These dated events around it each change a moving-day decision:
| Date (2026) | What was reported | Source | What it means for a Sector 108 move |
|---|---|---|---|
| 19 May | Gurugram at 44.6°C, with the night no cooler than 27°C | Amar Ujala | Carry the heavy pieces before late morning |
| 2 July | Monsoon reached Delhi, five days after the normal date | IMD | Reserve dates from late June |
| 7 July | First heavy spell: waterlogging and road cave-ins across Gurugram | The Tribune | Check the route on the morning itself |
| 24–25 August | An hour's rain, then a district work-from-home advisory | ETV Bharat | A sign to move the slot |
| 4–5 September | Water slowed traffic in the Dwarka Expressway tunnel | Business Today | Extra time on a Delhi-bound run |
| 21–24 October | Power staff strike; parts of the city dark for over 30 hours | The Tribune; Republic World | Cuts are not only a monsoon problem |
| 21 October | Stage I of GRAP invoked across the whole NCR | Akashvani | Air-quality orders now apply |
What does a Sector 108 building filing say about rain and backup power?
One public filing gives design figures for a project inside the sector. In March 2019, Shyam Kripa Infrastructure applied for environmental clearance for an affordable group housing colony in village Dharampur, Sector 108, with buildings up to 50.66 m high. Its Form 1A says:
- Rain: storm drains are designed for a peak of 45 mm in an hour, and rain off the basement ramps is collected in a tank below ground and pumped out to the closest external drain.
- Power: supply comes from DHBVN, with a total load of about 2.5 MW; the backup is one diesel generator set of 500 kW.
Two readings follow. A basement stays dry in a cloudburst only while its pumps run, and pumps need power. And on paper the generator is about a fifth of the full load, so it is unlikely to carry every flat and every lift at once; the form does not say which circuits it serves. This is a plan submitted for clearance, not a measurement, and the filing does not name the project it became, so treat it as a picture of how a Sector 108 building is meant to cope and ask your own estate office how yours does.
Why is the walk from truck to tower the weak point?
Because the campuses are big. Sobha's project site gives Sobha City 39 acres and 1,728 homes, half a kilometre of frontage on its 75 m road, and towers of 18 or 24 floors over a stilt level. Experion's page for The Westerlies speaks of over 100 acres, villas included. On estates that size, cartons may cross open ground between truck and tower dozens of times, in a downpour or at 44°C.
First, settle where the truck can stand:
- Ask for the service entrance nearest your tower, not the main gate, and whether the truck may wait under the stilt level or a covered porch.
- Stage wrapped cartons by the lift on your floor, so a sudden shower costs a pause, not wet boxes.
- Sheet the trolleys for the walk outside, and wrap mattresses and sofas in plastic first.
- If a ramp, lane or gate holds water, wait. Wading through it with cartons, or driving a loaded truck into it, is never worth the risk; the slot moves instead.
At a villa in The Westerlies or a house in Dharampur village, bring in planters, garden furniture and terrace items first; they get wet before anything else.
Will the lift keep running if the power fails?
That depends on the backup, and developers word it differently. Sobha's specifications list "24 Hour Power Backup For Apartments And Common Area Facilities" for Sobha City. Experion's Westerlies page advertises "100% power backup", with the note "T&C Apply".
October showed why the question matters outside the monsoon. A power staff strike began at 10 pm on 21 October 2026 and was due to run until 24 October, Republic World reported. On 23 October The Tribune said parts of Gurugram, New Palam Vihar and Bajghera among them, had been without power for more than 30 hours, and that inverters and society backups failed within a few hours, stopping water pumps too.
Before booking a lift slot, ask the estate office:
- To do: Is the service lift on the generator, and for how many hours?
- To do: Do the basement pumps share that supply?
- To do: If the service lift stops, may the crew use a passenger lift?
How hot does a Sector 108 moving day get?
Hot enough to finish the heavy work by late morning. After the 44.6°C reading on 19 May 2026, Amar Ujala reported that the district's orange heat alert would run until 26 May, and that people were advised to keep indoors between late morning and 4 pm. Demand on the city's grid hit a record 2,516 MW on 25 May.
The nearest IMD observatory is at Palam, by the airport, which the Dharampur filing puts about 8.5 km away. IMD's 1991–2020 table for Palam averages 40.7°C on May afternoons and 39.6°C in June, and records squalls on roughly 4 days in May and 3.5 in June. A summer day has two risks, then: midday heat and a gusty storm towards evening.
- Book the first service-lift slot of the day, so the slowest stage falls in the coolest hours.
- Heaviest pieces first: fridge, wardrobes, beds, washing machine.
- Medicines, candles, cosmetics and plants travel in your car.
- Tie down and sheet the load before evening, when squalls are likelier.
What changes when the truck is heading into Delhi?
The road and the rules. The Westerlies calls itself 0 km from the Delhi border, and many Sector 108 moves end on the Delhi side. Business Today reported that traffic in the Dwarka Expressway tunnel moved slowly through standing water on 4 and 5 September 2026, and any such delay must still fit Delhi's goods-vehicle hours, which our Delhi–Gurgaon moving guide explains.
From November the truck itself has to qualify. As checked on 30 October 2026:
- BS-IV cut-off, 1 November 2026. Outside-registered BS-IV goods vehicles were allowed into Delhi only up to 31 October 2026, under the air-quality commission's direction as amended in October 2025 (WION Drive, 23 October 2026; WION, 30 September 2026). We found no extension announced by 30 October.
- Winter entry curb, 1 November 2026 to 31 January 2027. Announced on 20 October, it keeps out vehicles with a non-Delhi registration that fall short of BS-VI, and no vehicle gets fuel without a valid pollution certificate (India TV). WION Drive adds that CNG and electric vehicles are exempt. India TV says older BS-III and BS-IV vehicles from outside are covered, so check your own car too if you will drive it in.
- GRAP. Stage I has applied across the NCR since 21 October 2026; we saw no higher stage by 30 October.
Get the truck's registration and fuel type in writing when you book. Our Delhi house-shifting guide covers the restricted hours and the papers.
What should you plan for between November and February?
Dry days, slow mornings and air-quality orders. Palam's normals give November just 3.8 mm of rain, but fog on 7.3 days, rising to 15.4 in December and 20.7 in January. The early start that beats May's heat can become a crawl in winter fog, so in December and January a mid-morning loading start, with the drive done in daylight, is often safer. GRAP stages can change within a day, and higher stages tighten curbs on some trucks, so check the stage the evening before.
Which months suit a Sector 108 move?
| Months | What 2026 and the normals show | How to plan |
|---|---|---|
| November to February | Little rain; frequent fog at Palam; GRAP in force from 21 October 2026 | Mid-morning starts in fog; Delhi truck class |
| March and April | Rising heat; squall days start to appear on the Palam normals | Early lift slot; sheeting ready |
| May and June | Top reading 44.6°C on 19 May 2026; district on orange alert to 26 May | Heavy carrying done by late morning; generator check |
| July to September | 2026 monsoon from 2 July to 23 September; roads waterlogged on 7 July | Reserve date in the same week; covered loading point |
| October | Dry, but the 2026 strike cut power for over a day | Confirm lift backup |
This is a record of 2026 and the long-run normals, not a forecast for 2027. For July to September, our Sector 108 page notes that we hold a spare date within that week.
What goes on your Sector 108 weather checklist?
- To do: Tell us the township, phase, tower and floor, or the villa or village plot.
- To do: Ask for the nearest service entrance and a covered place for the truck.
- To do: Confirm the service lift and pumps are on backup, and for how long.
- To do: Between late June and late September, agree a reserve date with us and the estate office.
- To do: For a Delhi delivery from 1 November, get the truck's emission class in writing.
- To do: Keep papers, medicines, jewellery and chargers in the bag that travels with you.
Will rain or heat change the price?
No. Set in October 2026, the owner's indicative bands ignore the weather. Inside Gurgaon they run from a Rs 4,500 floor for one bedroom to a Rs 15,000 ceiling for three, and a two-bedroom flat is priced from Rs 8,000 to Rs 12,500. Into Delhi, one bedroom is Rs 7,000–8,000; with two bedrooms the band widens to Rs 10,000–13,500, and with three it sits at Rs 14,000–16,500. Villas are surveyed first, and the Gurgaon charges guide shows which details push a quote up or down within its band. Weather costs time instead, or a few days in storage, quoted apart. What the crew handles is on our household shifting page.
Key takeaway
No dated report puts Sector 108 itself under water; the risks sit at the edges of the move. Get the truck as close to your tower as the estate allows, confirm the service lift's backup before booking, and keep a reserve date from late June to late September. Finish the heavy carrying early in May and June, allow for fog in winter, and from 1 November 2026 make sure any truck bound for Delhi runs on BS-VI diesel, CNG or electricity.
Once a date looks likely, get in touch with the tower, floor and loading point for each home.
This page is general information drawn from the filings, records and reports listed, all read on 30 October 2026. Backup systems, roads and Delhi's vehicle rules change, so check the latest IMD warnings, GRAP stage and estate-office notices before fixing your date.
