No dated report we found names a road or society inside Sector 80 as flooded; the rain risk on record lies on NH-48, the highway the sector faces, and in a drain project beside it that will still be under way next monsoon. Summer heat is the other limit, with Gurugram at 45.1 °C during a June 2024 red alert, so a Sector 80 move is easiest from October to March. In May and June the crew should begin at first light, and from July to September it pays to hold a second date in reserve.

Below are the reports behind that advice and what each one changes on moving day. Our page for packers and movers in Sector 80 Gurgaon describes how we approach a highway-side gate.

Which dated reports touch Sector 80 and its roads?

The table lists every report we could date that mentions Sector 80, its drains or water, or the highway a truck uses to get there. Eleven made the cut:

When Source Reported Effect on moving day
18 Jun 2024 The Tribune IMD red alert; Gurugram 45.1 °C by day, 32.2 °C at night June can be the hottest month
27 Dec 2024 Indian Infrastructure Sectors 58–80 fed from the Sector 51 station; tankers in peak summer Ask about water before move-in
3 Nov 2025 Amar Ujala Drain for Sectors 76–80 awarded, 30-month target Works beside the highway into 2028
16 Jun 2026 Amar Ujala Early showers; 32.3 °C, four degrees below normal, with 40 °C forecast again Mid-June swings between heat and rain
2 Jul 2026 Down To Earth Monsoon reached Delhi on 2 July, normal date 27 June The wet season's working start
3 Jul 2026 Indian Infrastructure Trial run of the Sector 72 pipeline; about 10 of 18 km tested Supply fix not yet confirmed
8 Jul 2026 Aaj Tak NH-48 caved in near Narsinghpur; 8–10 km jam towards Jaipur A Delhi truck can lose hours
5 Aug 2026 ThePrint GMDA says chronic waterlogging points cut from 90 to five or six Fewer spots, not none
6 Aug 2026 Business Today NH-48 towards Gurugram slow with waterlogging Same pattern a month later
24 Aug 2026 Construction World Highway service lane shut to 15 October for the drain works Diversions on the last stretch
6 Sep 2026 The Pioneer 36 mm in an hour; traffic crawling from Sarhaul Border to Rajiv Chowk Late-season delays north of the sector

These are past events, not predictions, but they show where the weak points are.

Do the streets inside Sector 80 flood?

We could not find a single dated report saying so, in English or Hindi news. The record instead shows that the authorities expect water along this stretch of the highway. GMDA had awarded a contractor the master storm-water drain for Sectors 76 to 80, worth Rs 104.95 crore, Amar Ujala reported on 3 November 2025; work was to begin by 8 November and finish within 30 months. GMDA's stated aim was to end long-standing waterlogging on the NH-48 service road and in the sectors beside it, with the water flowing by gravity to existing master drains.

Two things follow. First, a 30-month job begun in November 2025 is due around May 2028, so the 2027 monsoon will arrive with the work still in progress. Second, the problem the drain is meant to cure is on the highway side, which is the side Godrej Frontier faces, directly on NH-48. We found no later report on progress, so treat the old drainage as what you have.

Because of that work, the service road for Jaipur-bound traffic between Rampura Chowk and IMT Manesar was shut until 15 October 2026, and Construction World noted the diversions covered Sectors 76 to 80. By 24 October we had found no report that the lane had reopened, so check before you book. Our Sector 80 rules guide lists the diversions and where a truck may and may not wait.

What happens on NH-48 when it rains?

The trouble on record is north of Kherki Daula, on the run a truck from Delhi or central Gurgaon must make. After the season's first heavy rain, Aaj Tak reported on 8 July 2026 that a large part of the highway had caved in near Narsinghpur, causing an 8 to 10 km jam on the way to Jaipur, while Hero Honda Chowk and Rajiv Chowk were under water.

The city says the worst spots are fewer now. After the rain of 4 August, GMDA's chief executive told ThePrint that chronic waterlogging points had come down from 90 to five or six, and that the Narsinghpur low point had been dealt with by sending water towards Khandsa village, with a culvert planned before next year's monsoon. Yet two days later Business Today described NH-48 towards Gurugram moving slowly because of waterlogging, and on 5 September an hour of rain, 36 mm, left traffic crawling from Sarhaul Border to Rajiv Chowk, The Pioneer reported.

For a move into Sector 80, this means the delay is more likely on the journey than at your gate. A truck loaded in Delhi or DLF that leaves just after a heavy spell may queue for hours before it reaches the toll plaza. Our area page explains the approach we take from July to mid-September: a buffer day, extra plastic sheeting, and a look at the route on the morning itself. Moves from Manesar come up the highway from the other side; our Manesar season guide covers that stretch.

Which other road works matter in the wet months?

The Naurangpur road. On 22 July 2026 Business Today reported that Haryana had cleared its rebuild as a six-lane corridor with drains, work to start in August and to take about two years. A road dug up in sections during the rains can leave soft verges and diverted lanes, so if your society's gate is reached from that side, ask the estate office in the week of the move which entry trucks are using.

Will the taps run on moving day?

Ask before you plan to clean the flat on arrival. In December 2024 Indian Infrastructure reported that Sectors 58 to 80 drew their water from the Sector 51 boosting station and relied heavily on tankers in peak summer, and that GMDA planned to switch them to a new station in Sector 72. By July 2026 the trial run had begun on the 18-km pipeline from the Chandu Budhera treatment plant, with about 10 km tested and the rest to follow in phases. We found no report that the new station is supplying Sector 80 yet.

Questions for the estate office:

  • To do: Did the society buy tankers last May or June?
  • To do: Is the overhead tank filled on a fixed schedule, and can it be topped up on moving day?
  • To do: Is a new flat's supply connected, or only the common areas?

How hot does it get, and when do the rains start?

Hot enough to change the hours. On 17 June 2024, with an IMD red alert in force, The Tribune reported a Gurugram maximum of 45.1 °C and an overnight low of 32.2 °C, citing the weather expert at the Krishi Vigyan Kendra in Shikohpur, and the advice was to stay indoors in the afternoon. A night that warm leaves little cool time for carrying, so in May and June the work has to start at first light. Both figures are for the city; we found no reading for Sector 80 alone.

June can turn quickly. On 16 June 2026 Amar Ujala recorded showers that pulled the city's maximum down to 32.3 °C, four degrees below normal, while the weather office warned that 40 °C could return within days. The monsoon itself was late, Down To Earth noted: IMD declared it over Delhi on 2 July 2026 against a normal date of 27 June, the first July arrival since 2021. Expect mid-June to bring both heat and the first downpours.

Tower or villa: what changes on a wet day?

The kind of home decides how long your goods are in the open:

Home What the source says Wet-day plan
Highway tower, such as Godrej Frontier Square Yards lists ten towers of 12 to 18 floors (see our area page) Load from the covered point nearest the service lift; book the first lift slot
Villa in Karma Lakelands Unitech describes 246 villas, each roughly 5,867–6,780 sq ft, across 300 acres A full villa takes longer to load, so wrap furniture before it leaves the porch
New flat in a project still being built around it Several Sector 80 projects show possession from 2029 onwards (area page) Site roads turn to mud; ask where the truck can stand on hard ground

For any of these, keep mattresses, sofas and electronics in plastic until they are inside, and lay old sheets at the door to stop mud being tracked across a new floor.

Which months suit a Sector 80 move?

On the record above, October to March is the safest window:

Months What the record shows How to plan
October to March Nothing dated on rain or heat Usual planning; check the service lane and Naurangpur road works
April to mid-June 45.1 °C on 17 June 2024; tanker reliance in summer Dawn start, water confirmed, heat-sensitive items in your car
Mid-June to early July Early showers 16 June 2026; monsoon onset 2 July 2026 Treat as both hot and wet
July to September NH-48 cave-in 7 July, slow traffic 6 August and 5 September 2026 Morning slot, spare day, check the highway before the truck leaves

Should the handover slip, our warehouse can hold the load until the flat is ready. For crew hours and the October 2026 price ranges in the sector, read our Sector 80 costs and access guide, and for the next sector's road and water record, our Sector 81 season guide.

What goes on a rain-day and heat-day checklist?

  • To do: Look at the traffic police advisories and NH-48 traffic before the truck leaves the old address.
  • To do: Confirm which gate and entry road trucks are using that week.
  • To do: Check that the service lift is on generator backup.
  • To do: Confirm water at the new flat, or arrange a tanker.
  • To do: In May and June, book the earliest lift slot both societies allow.
  • To do: Medicines, papers and plants travel in your own vehicle.
  • To do: Keep a fallback date in writing with both societies.

Key takeaway

Sector 80's own streets have no dated flood report, but the highway it faces has caved in, jammed and flooded in 2026, the drains meant to fix its service road run into 2028, and summer has topped 45 °C. Pick October to March where possible; in other months, begin at dawn, check the water and the lift generator, and hold a reserve date.

Everything here comes from the dated sources listed and is general information, not a forecast. Roads, drains and water supply change quickly, so in your moving week look at the IMD's Gurugram forecast, the traffic police advisories and your society's notices, and tell us your dates so we can plan around them.
