No society, estate or new project in Sector 80 that we checked publishes its house-moving rules online, so the hours, deposit and gate pass for your move are whatever your own facility or estate office tells you. What is published is the road side: GMDA's drain works along Sectors 76 to 80, which shut the Jaipur-bound NH-48 service lane from 18 August to 15 October 2026, the rebuild of the Naurangpur road, and city-wide towing and truck-hour rules.

This guide sets out those dated rules, separates them from what you must ask your office, and covers the extra step for buyers waiting on a new project. For how we staff and plan the move itself, see our Sector 80 packers and movers page.

Does any Sector 80 society publish its moving rules?

None that we found in October 2026. Sector 80 holds very different kinds of homes, and every kind has its own office in charge:

Kind of home Example Status Moving rules online (Oct 2026) Ask
Tower society on the highway Godrej Frontier, 483 flats on NH-48 (Square Yards) Ready for years None found The society's facility office
Villa estate Karma Lakelands, 246 villas on about 300 acres (Unitech) Listed as ready None found The estate office
Serviced flats above shops Elan Mercado, with service apartments over a high street (Elan) Occupancy certificate October 2022 None found The building's management desk
New projects Sobha Aranya, Conscient Parq, Eldeco Fairway Reserve, Trehan Iris Omara and others (Square Yards) Possession dates 2029 to 2032 Not yet relevant The builder's customer team
New project, recently registered Ashiana Aaroham, 542 homes (Ashiana) HARERA registrations November 2025 and January 2026 Not yet relevant The builder's customer team

"None found" is not the same as "no rules". Most offices keep a printed form or a notice at the desk. Ask for a copy before you book, rather than learning it from a guard on the day.

What should you ask your office where nothing is written down?

Ask the same few questions at both ends, by email or on the society app, so that the answers are on record:

  • Allowed hours and days. Whether Sundays and public holidays are allowed, and the latest time a truck may leave.
  • Which gate. A highway-facing society or a large estate may have a separate goods entrance. Ask which one it is, and the spot inside where a lorry can park.
  • Lift or estate road. In a tower, whether the service lift can be held for the whole loading time. In a villa estate, whether a second vehicle may wait near your house.
  • Deposit and dues. Whether a refundable deposit is taken, and whether unpaid maintenance must be cleared before a move-out pass is signed.
  • Papers. Which documents the guards will check for owners, tenants and the crew.

For the paperwork other Gurgaon societies commonly ask for, and the lift-slot lengths they offer, see our Sector 80 costs and access guide. We do not repeat it here.

Which road works affect a Sector 80 move in late 2026?

Two dated projects, both expected to run for about two more years.

GMDA's storm-water drains. On 3 November 2025, Amar Ujala reported that GMDA had awarded a Rs 104.95 crore drain project to relieve waterlogging on the NH-48 service road and the sectors beside it. Its first phase covers Sectors 77 to 80 and the stretch from Rampura Chowk to the junction of NH-48 with the Northern Peripheral Road, with a target of 30 months from the start of work that month. Indian Infrastructure had reported in August 2025 that 10.78 km of the 18.32 km of drains approved would lie in Sectors 76 to 80.

The NH-48 service lane. Those drains are the reason the highway's Jaipur-bound service lane, from beneath the Rampura Chowk flyover as far as IMT Manesar, was shut. According to The Tribune, writing on 18 August 2026, the lane closed at 6 am that day and was due to stay closed until 15 October 2026, with six diversions in place. One of them sends traffic for Naurangpur to make a U-turn before the Kherki Daula toll plaza. If your move falls near or after 15 October, ask the traffic police helpline or look for a fresh advisory before fixing the slot, since the date may have moved.

The Naurangpur road. Business Today wrote on 22 July 2026 that a state works committee cleared the Rs 29 crore project to widen the Naurangpur–Rampura Chowk link in late July 2026, with work expected from the first week of August and taking about two years. Expect stretches to be dug up in turn while it is built.

What this means for the day: the route a truck took last month may not be open this month. We check the approach in the week before the move and look again at the traffic on the morning itself.

Can the moving truck wait on the highway or the service lane?

It should not, and the rules make it costly to try. The Tribune reported in October 2023 that GMDA, on the traffic police's advice, had raised its towing charges from 26 October that year, doubling the rate for heavy vehicles: Rs 2,000 for a heavy or medium vehicle, Rs 1,000 for a car and Rs 500 for a two-wheeler. Those were the figures then; check the current charge with GMDA.

A towed truck with your furniture inside is a lost day, so we settle the waiting place before the truck arrives. For a society on the highway that means a spot inside the compound; for a villa, a place on the estate road the estate office agrees to. Where the guards will not let a truck in until the gate pass is printed, ask for the pass a day early.

Which hours can a goods vehicle use the roads?

Gurugram Traffic Police's Vehicle Movement Digi Pass note, hosted on GMDA's portal, names two no-entry windows on designated roads, 8 am to 10 am and 5 pm to 9 pm, when a goods vehicle needs a permit. Put your society's own hours beside those windows and the usable loading day often shrinks to late morning and afternoon.

Two more rules apply to longer moves:

  • The Kherki Daula toll. Sector 80 lies on the Jaipur side of the toll plaza, so a move towards central Gurgaon or Delhi on NH-48 usually crosses it. Since midnight on 31 March 2026, Haryana's toll plazas take only cashless payment, as The Tribune had announced the day before. Any lorry you hire needs a FASTag with balance on it.
  • Delhi's entry rules. A move from Sector 80 into Delhi has to fit Delhi's goods-vehicle entry hours and, on bad-air days, its pollution curbs. Our Delhi and Gurgaon moving guide explains both.

What permission does a move into a new Sector 80 project need?

The occupancy certificate and the builder's possession letter, in that order. Several Sector 80 projects show possession dates between 2029 and 2032, so this matters to many buyers here. Section 19(10) of the central RERA law of 2016 asks each buyer to take possession of the home inside two months from the date its occupancy certificate is issued. Plan the moving date within that period.

Before you fix it, ask the builder:

  1. Has the occupancy certificate been issued for your tower, not just for the project's first phase?
  2. Is the service lift running and handed over for residents' use, or still run by the contractor?
  3. Which gate takes household goods while construction continues in later phases?
  4. Who issues the move-in pass: the builder's facility team or a residents' body?

Many buyers rent nearby while they wait. That is two moves, and the second can be planned only once these answers are in. If the dates leave a gap, packed goods can wait in our storage facility.

What is your Sector 80 checklist before booking?

  • To do: Get the society's or estate's moving hours, days and deposit in writing
  • To do: Learn the goods gate and the waiting spot inside the compound
  • To do: Book the service lift, or agree a stopping point on the estate road
  • To do: Clear maintenance dues if the office wants proof before a move-out
  • To do: Check whether the NH-48 service lane has reopened after 15 October 2026
  • To do: Ask about drain or road works on your approach in the week of the move
  • To do: Plan the drive outside the morning (8–10) and evening (5–9) restricted hours
  • To do: For a new flat: see the occupancy certificate and possession letter before fixing a date

Key takeaway

In Sector 80 the written rules are about the roads, not the societies. Get your office's rules in writing, check the NH-48 service lane and the drain works the day before, and never let the truck wait on the highway.

Neighbouring sectors work differently: our Sector 81 rules guide covers licensed colonies and affordable-housing blocks, and the New Gurgaon sectors guide compares the approach roads. The crew's tasks on the day are described on our household shifting page. Once both offices have replied, send us the addresses and their answers.

Each source below was checked in October 2026, the month this was written. Read it as general information for planning, not as legal advice: society circulars, towing charges and traffic advisories change, so check the current position with your office, GMDA and Gurugram traffic police before the move.
