In Sector 37 the monsoon risk sits on the roads: rain has closed the Hero Honda Chowk underpass, flooded Khandsa Road and left water standing in the Pace City-1 industrial lanes, with the latest reports dated July and August 2026. The summer risk is afternoon heat; no report names the sector, but Gurugram reached 44.6°C on 19 May 2026 and stayed under an orange heat alert until 26 May.

We limited our search to dated news reports that name Sector 37, its industrial estates, Khandsa, Hero Honda Chowk or the NH-48 stretch beside it. Where a report covers the whole city instead, we say so. None of the flood reports names a particular factory, house or lane number, so treat them as a guide to which roads fail, not to whether your own gate will be under water.

Which dated reports name Sector 37 or its roads?

Sector 37 is a working sector on NH-48 (the old NH-8), with industrial estates, the village of Khandsa and rented homes around it. The table lists every dated report we found for the sector and the roads a truck uses to reach it.

24 August 2026 ETV Bharat A 5 km jam on NH-48 from Signature Tower to Hero Honda Chowk after an hour's rain

Why check Hero Honda Chowk first after heavy rain?

Because almost every truck reaching Sector 37 passes through or under it. The chowk is where the sector meets NH-48, and its underpass is the obvious way in from the industrial side.

The underpass has a record. On 20 July 2021 The Tribune reported that 120 mm of rain had closed it, together with the underpasses at Rajiv Chowk and IFFCO Chowk. Four years later, in its August 2025 review of a decade of drain spending, the paper still listed Hero Honda Chowk and NH-8 among the places that go under water each monsoon.

Even when the underpass stays open, the junction can stall. During a three-hour spell of rain on 6 September 2024, the paper noted that the traffic lights at Hero Honda Chowk stopped working, leaving police to manage the crossing by hand. In July 2026 the problem came from the highway instead: after 82 mm of rain, NH-48 caved in near Narsinghpur, and The Tribune described traffic backed up for kilometres from the chowk towards the Kherki Daula toll, with a follow-up report naming the chowk among the waterlogged spots. On 24 August 2026 a single hour of rain was enough for a 5 km jam between Signature Tower and the chowk, according to ETV Bharat, stretching a 15-minute drive to 40 or 50 minutes.

What happens on Khandsa Road and inside the industrial lanes?

This is where loading happens, so it matters more than the highway. Three reports describe it:

  • Khandsa Road. After 115 mm fell over 33 hours, The Tribune's list of the worst-hit stretches, published on 11 July 2026, included Khandsa Road, and it said the NH-8 corridor keeps flooding because storm drains have been built over.
  • Khandsa Chowk. On 28 July 2026, GMDA told The Tribune that its list of vulnerable spots had shrunk to six, and Khandsa Chowk was still on it. The same report said GMDA and the municipal corporation would meet to plan a fix, hoping to solve it within that monsoon.
  • Pace City-1. In September 2024 the paper walked the estate and found the first three internal roads off the chowk's underpass side the worst, with craters, potholes and raised manholes. Workers were wading through dirty water in the rains, and a former councillor blamed units that had built their own chambers into the storm drains, choking them.

The estate owners' complaints went further up in January 2025, when industry representatives listed sewer overflow and poor drainage in Industrial Area Phases I and II before the municipal commissioner, who promised quick fixes. We have not seen a later report saying those lanes were relaid or the drains cleared, so check the lane outside your shed yourself after a heavy shower.

Is anything being done before the next monsoon?

Some checks happen every year, but we found no report of a finished drain scheme for Sector 37:

  1. Underpass pump drills. In May 2025 GMDA ran pre-monsoon mock drills at the city's underpasses, releasing water into the sumps to test the pumps. Hero Honda Chowk was on the schedule for 9 May; the article was written before that drill, so it gives no result for this underpass.
  2. Remaining hotspots. The July 2026 meeting on the last six spots, Khandsa Chowk among them, is the most recent plan we found. Whether it led to new work is not yet reported.

Until a full monsoon passes without Khandsa or the chowk making the news, plan as if both can still flood.

How hot does Sector 37 get in summer?

We found no temperature report that names Sector 37, Khandsa or Hero Honda Chowk. The figures below are for Gurugram as a whole, which is the closest dated measure:

  • 16 May 2022. The Tribune reported 48.1°C; no station in Haryana or Punjab was hotter that day.
  • Late May 2024. With the city above 45°C for three straight days, the deputy commissioner ordered a noon-to-3 pm break for construction workers, delivery riders and domestic staff, with water and refreshments from employers.
  • 18 May 2026. Amar Ujala reported 44°C, with the health department advising people to stay off the streets from noon until 4 pm.
  • 19 May 2026. The paper recorded 44.6°C, the hottest day of that season up to then.
  • 22 May 2026. The district's orange heat alert was extended to 26 May, with advice to stay in from 11 am to 4 pm.

If your loading point is an open yard or a shed door, the crew carries in full sun, so the timing matters more than in a tower with a covered basement. Those break-hour advisories were dated and may change, so check the current IMD forecast and any district notice before you fix a date.

How should you plan a monsoon move in Sector 37?

Our Sector 37 page sets out how we approach this sector: we look at the loading point, where water collects and when the junction is quietest, check the junction on the morning of the move, and on a wet day inspect the lane before loading, lift cartons clear of the floor and cover the load. On your side, this checklist helps:

  • To do: Walk the lane from your door to the main road after the first heavy shower of the season and note where water stands.
  • To do: Tell us where a truck can stand and for how long, and whether a yard or shed door can be used instead of the street.
  • To do: Keep a spare day free after the planned date, especially between July and September.
  • To do: Move stock, files and electronics off the floor the evening before.
  • To do: For a unit, check the office relocation steps, and agree with the estate or landlord when loading is allowed.
  • To do: If the new site is not ready or the road is shut, ask about storage so goods can wait and be delivered in whatever order suits you.

How should you plan a move in May and June?

Book the earliest start you can, so the heavy items leave before the late-morning heat. Keep medicines, documents, plants and pets in your own vehicle rather than a closed truck. Ask your building or estate whether the goods lift runs on backup power, because summer power cuts can stop a lift halfway through a move. If you are moving a unit, choose a day it already stops for, such as the weekly off, so production pauses once.

Which months suit a Sector 37 move best?

Months What the dated reports show What to plan
October to April No flood or heat report for the sector's roads in our search Normal planning; check for road works at the chowk
Mid-May to June 44°C to 48.1°C city readings in May 2022, 2024 and 2026; afternoon advisories Early start, sensitive items in your car, lift backup checked
July to early September Underpass closed (July 2021); Khandsa Road and Khandsa Chowk flooded (July 2026); 5 km jam at the chowk (August 2026) A spare day, a lane check that morning, goods covered, storage as a fallback

Does the season change the price?

No. The owner's October 2026 price bands hold in every season. For a Sector 37 household moving within Gurgaon, the band is Rs 4,500 to 7,000 when the home has one bedroom, Rs 8,000 to 12,500 when it has two, and Rs 12,000 to 15,000 when it has three. Our Gurgaon charges guide sets out what pushes a quote up or down inside those ranges. Those ranges are for homes. For a workshop or office, the area page lists what changes the cost: what is moving, loading access, the time window and any storage between sites. Storage, if a flooded road delays delivery, is charged by the day and only if you ask for it.

Key takeaway

In Sector 37 the rain risk is on the approach roads: the Hero Honda Chowk underpass, Khandsa Road, Khandsa Chowk and the Pace City-1 lanes, all reported flooded between 2021 and 2026. The heat risk is mid to late May, when Gurugram passed 44°C in 2026. Move between October and April if you can, and keep a spare day in the rains.
