Raipur is Chhattisgarh's capital and an industrial city. Wikipedia counts about 200 steel rolling mills and over 800 rice milling plants in and around it, and the steel town of Bhilai lies to the west. Moves here often follow work in those industries or in government.

The government itself has moved. Nava Raipur, officially Atal Nagar-Nava Raipur, is a planned capital about 17 km south-east of the old city, home to the Mantralaya and the Vidhan Bhavan. The 12.7 km Atal Path expressway links the two, so getting between them is quick.

We have no office in Raipur. We plan moves to and from the city in Gurgaon as domestic relocations. Delhi NCR is about 1,090 km away by road, usually three to four days in transit.

Raipur Roads, Lakes and the Road to Nava Raipur

Reference points we use to plan the truck's approach and exit.

  1. Atal Path expressway

    The 12.7 km access-controlled road that links Raipur, near the railway station, with Nava Raipur. Moves to the new capital use it.

  2. NH-53

    The east–west highway through Raipur: west to Bhilai, Durg and Nagpur, east towards Odisha. Trucks for Nagpur, Mumbai or Bhubaneswar use it.

  3. Raipur Junction

    The main railway station, on the Howrah–Nagpur–Mumbai line. The Atal Path starts close by.

  4. Swami Vivekananda Airport, Mana

    About 15 km south of Raipur and 10 km from Nava Raipur. A handy reference point for homes on the southern side.

  5. Telibandha lake

    The lakefront known as Marine Drive, on the city's east side. It marks the way to Telibandha and Avanti Vihar and gets busy in the evenings.

Homes we move

City Houses, New-Capital Quarters and Steel Townships

Older Raipur, around Civil Lines, Shankar Nagar and Pandri, is mostly independent houses and small apartment blocks on busy roads. Parking a truck can be tight at market hours, so we load early and keep the stop short.

Nava Raipur is laid out in planned sectors, with government housing and newer apartment projects on wide roads. Access is easy, but quarters are allotted and returned through the government's own process, so share your allotment and handover dates with us.

West of the city, Bhilai and Durg have steel-plant township quarters and colonies with their own rules. If your move follows a transfer order or a retirement from the plant, tell us the handover date and we plan backwards from it.

Raipur Moving Checklist

  • Summer heat

    In April and May, temperatures sometimes rise above 48 °C. We start packing at dawn, keep electronics shaded and close the truck once it is loaded.

  • Old city to new capital

    The Atal Path makes the run to Nava Raipur quick, but check building access and any allotment papers at the new home before the date.

  • Township and quarters rules

    Government and plant quarters need an inspection and key return. Share the process and the date with us early.

  • Industrial traffic

    Roads near Urla, Siltara and the highways carry heavy trucks; we time loading to avoid the worst of it.

When to move

Best Months for a Raipur Move

November to February is the easiest time: dry, mild days that suit a long day of packing.

March to June is hot, and April and May are the hardest months. If your date is fixed then, we work in the early hours, and you keep medicines, documents and anything that melts with you.

The monsoon runs from mid-June to early October and brings most of the year's rain, about 1,300 mm. Everything is wrapped, and we keep a spare date for heavy spells. If your new home is not ready, goods can wait in storage.

Yes. If you are posted to Nava Raipur from another state, share your allotment and joining dates, and we plan the move to meet them. The Atal Path gives quick access from the Raipur side if you are renting in the old city first.

Yes, for moves in or out of the region. Both lie west of Raipur on NH-53; share the address and any township rules when you ask for a quote.

Yes. Send us the inspection date as soon as the plant or department gives it. We work back from that date, so packing and loading are done and the rooms are empty before the inspection.

About 280 km along NH-53. Load in the morning and a small flat can reach Nagpur that evening or early the next day; a bigger household takes one to two days. Our Nagpur page covers the other end.

Electronics and anything sensitive are packed in the early morning, padded and kept away from the truck's walls, and the truck is closed once loaded. Candles, medicines and cosmetics should travel with you.
