Moving to Sector 79: A Newcomer's Guide for Families and Renters

Sector 79 suits a family that wants a new three-bedroom flat near NH-48 and the Southern Peripheral Road, and can live without a metro or a neighbourhood market for now. In the first week you will rely on a car: the nearest mall is in Sector 80, the closest hospitals are in Sectors 82 and 87, and the newest school, next to Godrej Aria, opened in 2023.

This guide is for the first days after the truck leaves. It names the societies, roads, schools, hospitals and shops that a newcomer actually uses, and what to sort out before the boxes are unpacked.

Which societies in Sector 79 are ready to live in?

One large society is finished, one is still being built, and a third sits just over the boundary. That shapes who moves here and how.

• Godrej Aria. Godrej Properties lists six towers on seven acres facing the Aravallis, set around 2.5 acres of courtyards, with possession from December 2022. It sells only three-bedroom homes, so most households, owners and tenants alike, arrive with a full family load.
• M3M Golf Hills. Across Sectors 79 and 79B, M3M still calls it ongoing; its two phases went on the HARERA register in March 2023 and April 2024, and its layouts run from 2.5 to 4.5 BHK. If you have bought here, ask the builder for the handover and lift schedule in writing before booking a mover.
• Karma Lakelands, Sector 80. Next door, Unitech describes a par-33 golf course over 75 acres. Because M3M points to it when describing the Golf Hills location, it makes a handy landmark to give a cab or a delivery rider.

For renters, the practical point is supply. With one finished society and one under construction, the choice of ready flats inside Sector 79 is narrow, and most are three-bedroom units. How do you get around without a metro?

By road, and mostly by car. Two roads serve the sector. A January 2026 Tribune report places Sector 79, and 79B, on the 16 km SPR, which links NH-48 to the Gurgaon–Faridabad road and is the route towards Sohna Road and Golf Course Extension Road. The other way out is the Naurangpur–Rampura Chowk road to NH-48, which Business Today described in July 2026 as 2.4 km long and about 5.5 metres at its widest, shared with dumpers, and due for a six-lane rebuild expected to take about two years.

For the first week, that means:

• Test the school run and the office commute at the real hour. The narrow link road and the rebuild works make peak times hard to guess from a map.
• Expect diversions. While the six-lane road is being built, the way to NH-48 may change from week to week.
• Do not wait for the metro. Wikipedia's Gurugram Metro article lists stations at Sector 75 and Kherki Daula on the planned Sector 56–Pachgaon line, but none named Sector 79, and gives 2029 as the expected start of construction.

Which schools are near Sector 79?

Three are worth a call in your first week, one inside the sector and two close by.

Mount Olympus is the only one a child in Godrej Aria could walk to. UCSKM Public School sits in Naurangpur village, on the road that is about to be rebuilt, so ask about bus routes during the works. St. Xavier's High School lists a Sector 81 branch among its campuses. Admissions in the middle of a year depend on seats, so ring the school before you fix the moving date, and carry the transfer certificate and last report card in your hand luggage, not in a carton.

Where are the nearest hospitals?

Outside the sector, so save the numbers before you need them. We found no hospital listed inside Sector 79 itself.

• Miracles Apollo Cradle and Children Hospital, Sector 82. Apollo Cradle gives its address as Plot 45, Vatika India Next, and says it is open 24/7, with obstetrics, paediatrics and a Level III NICU. It suits a family with a baby or a pregnancy.
• SilverStreak Hospital, Sector 87. SilverStreak describes itself as an NABH-accredited multi-specialty hospital with more than 350 beds and a 24x7 emergency and trauma department, opposite DLF Skycourt.

If someone in the family takes regular medicine, carry a month's supply and the prescriptions with you on moving day. Finding a new chemist and doctor takes longer when the nearest market is a drive away.

Where do you shop in the first week?

Mostly in Sector 80 or online. Elan Group lists Elan Mercado in Sector 80, on NH-48, with a four-screen PVR, a food court, high-street shops and restaurants, and an occupation certificate dated 17 October 2022. It is the closest place for a meal out on the first evening, when the kitchen is still in cartons.

Plan the first grocery order before the truck arrives. A box with tea, snacks, drinking water, paper plates, a kettle and toilet rolls, packed last and opened first, covers the gap until you find your regular shops.

What paperwork should a newcomer finish in week one?

Three things, depending on whether you rent or own:

• Police verification for tenants. Haryana Police lists an online Tenant/PG verification at Rs 50, which the landlord or the tenant can file. Keep the acknowledgement; the facility office may ask for it.
• Society registration. Ask the facility desk on the day you collect keys which forms it needs for residents, vehicles and any domestic staff, so gate passes are ready before your first week ends.
• For owners in a new tower. Confirm the possession letter and that the building has its occupation certificate before you book the move, so the gate lets the truck in.

What does the move itself involve?

A long carry and a careful approach. Godrej Aria's towers stand around large courtyards, so the walk from the truck to your lift can be long; ask the facility office where the truck may park and book the service lift.
