The rain is the bigger risk for a move in Sector 110, and it is concentrated in July and August, when the reports we found describe water in New Palam Vihar homes and on the roads around Rajendra Park. Summer heat peaks in May and June, with average highs around 40°C, so a move in those months is best finished by early afternoon.

No news report we found names Sector 110 by its number, so this guide works from reports about New Palam Vihar and the roads on its edge, and from the official weather records kept just across the border at Palam. Our head office sits in Phase 2 of New Palam Vihar, and the Sector 110 packers and movers page describes how we handle the sector's lanes and towers.

Has any report named Sector 110 itself?

Not by number. The dated reports that come closest are about New Palam Vihar, which Square Yards places in Sector 110, and Rajendra Park Road, which it places in New Palam Vihar Phase 1:

Date What was reported Source
7–8 July 2026 115 mm of rain over two days; locals said a school bus got stuck in a dug-up stretch of Rajendra Park PTI, via ThePrint
28 July 2026 About 35 mm in some 40 minutes; water entering homes and shops in New Palam Vihar; close to two feet of water on Chauma Road in Rajendra Park PTI, via ThePrint
13 May 2026 Internal roads in Sectors 99 to 115 described as badly worn, with waterlogging in the monsoon The Tribune

The first report is the one to note for a move. PTI wrote on 8 July 2026 that 83 mm fell on the Tuesday and 32 mm on the Wednesday, and that a school bus was caught in a section of Rajendra Park that had been dug up. A trench or a freshly filled stretch can hold water and hide its edges. When roadworks are under way near your lane in the rainy season, ask the crew to walk the approach before the truck turns in.

The 28 July report is covered in our Sector 111 monsoon guide, because Chauma Road matters as much to that sector. The worn sector roads were the subject of a Tribune report in May 2026 on a road upgrade for Sectors 99 to 115; no report we have seen says the work is complete.

What do the official weather records say, month by month?

The nearest long official record is IMD's Palam observatory, at Delhi's airport across the border. Its 1991–2020 normals are not Sector 110 readings, but they show when the risks build up:

Month Average high (°C) Average low (°C) Rain (mm) Rainy days
March 30.0 15.4 11.0 1.4
April 37.1 21.7 10.7 1.2
May 40.7 26.4 32.9 2.7
June 39.6 27.9 75.2 4.0
July 36.0 27.4 188.7 8.9
August 34.5 26.4 197.9 9.4
September 34.4 24.9 117.4 5.0
October 33.3 19.9 12.6 0.8
November 28.3 13.7 3.8 0.4

Three things stand out. July and August together bring 386.6 mm, more than half of Palam's 692 mm year. September is still wet, with more rain than June. And the hottest month on average is May, not June, though June nights are warmer.

The same table counts days with thunder and squalls. May averages 7.1 days with thunder and 4.0 with squalls, more squall days than any other month, which is the next risk.

Why watch the evenings in May?

Because the storms come before the rains. IMD's monthly weather report for May 2026, issued on 2 June, records hail at Palam on 6 May and wind gusts there of 98 km/h at 8 pm on 13 May and 70 km/h on 30 May. The same report lists heatwave conditions over Delhi on 18 to 21, 24 and 27 May, even though Palam's average high for the month, 38.9°C, came in below its normal of 40.7°C.

For a move, a May storm does its damage on the open ground between the door and the truck. A mattress or a sofa waiting on the kerb, or a carton stack on an open tailboard, is exposed for the minutes it takes a gust to arrive. If your loading runs into the evening in May, keep plastic sheets at hand and load the soft furniture first.

How does the weather change a New Palam Vihar floor move compared with a tower?

The two kinds of home in Sector 110 meet the weather differently.

A builder floor in New Palam Vihar. Everything travels by the stairs and then through the open to wherever the truck can stand in the gali. On wet days, the area page says, cartons and soft furniture are stretch-wrapped and loading is kept short, and where a full-size truck cannot turn into a lane we bring a smaller vehicle or carry to a larger one on the wider road. Rain lengthens that carry: a lane holding water may push the truck further back, and every trip to it is a trip in the wet.

A tower flat in a group-housing society. The lift does most of the work and the loading point is often covered. The weak point is the run between the covered stilt or basement and the truck, and the route out of the sector. The area page notes that ThePrint reported traffic crawling through standing water on the service lanes of the Daulatabad flyover on 28 July 2026, and that we check that stretch before setting off when it is raining.

Either way, ask your society or neighbours where the truck should wait if its normal place is under water. Our Sector 110 rules guide covers who to ask in each kind of building.

What does the summer heat change?

Mainly the hours. With May afternoons averaging over 40°C at Palam, stair carrying from a third or fourth floor in a lane without shade is the hardest work of the year. In the 2024 heatwave, the Gurugram District Magistrate's order of 31 May 2024 asked employers, contractors and RWA societies to keep outdoor work to a minimum between 12 pm and 4 pm, and to provide shade and drinking water. That order was for 2024; in a heatwave, check whether a fresh one is in force.

Ask for an early start and a finish before the afternoon. Some goods suffer in the heat as well: candles, wax-based polish, medicines and vinyl records should travel in the car rather than in a shut truck standing in sunlight. For heat and power cuts reported in the Palam Vihar area in earlier summers, see the Sector 111 guide; a power cut stops a tower's lift, so ask your society whether its back-up runs the lifts.

Which months suit a Sector 110 move?

Months Main risk What to plan
October to March Few; little rain on the Palam record The easiest stretch, though Delhi-bound trucks face winter air-quality rules
April Rising heat Morning loading
May Heat, and evening storms Finish by early afternoon; covers ready for gusts
June Heat, warm nights, first heavy showers Early start; a spare day in hand late in the month
July and August The wettest months; reported waterlogging in New Palam Vihar and Rajendra Park A back-up date in the same week; stretch-wrap; check the lane on the morning
September Still more rain than June Keep the back-up date

For a move into Delhi in the cool months, the winter truck rules matter more than the weather; the Sector 110 rules guide covers them. For the wider corridor, see the Dwarka Expressway page.

Will the season raise the price?

No. These indicative ranges from our owner, set in October 2026, do not move with the weather:

Home Inside Gurgaon (rupees) Gurgaon to Delhi (rupees)
One bedroom 4,500 to 7,000 7,000 to 8,000
Two bedrooms 8,000 to 12,500 10,000 to 13,500
Three bedrooms 12,000 to 15,000 14,000 to 16,500

A rainy day can still add cost in one way: if the new home cannot take delivery, storage for the gap is a separate service. What the crew does on the day is set out under household shifting.

Which checks belong on your list for a wet or hot day?

  • To do: Is any road near your lane dug up for works? If so, ask the crew to check the approach before the truck enters.
  • To do: If the normal truck spot floods, where else can it park?
  • To do: For July to September, is a back-up date agreed with both buildings?
  • To do: For May and June, is the start time early enough to finish by early afternoon?
  • To do: Does your tower's back-up power run the lift?
  • To do: Are heat-sensitive items and documents going in your own car?
  • To do: Have the neighbours in a builder floor agreed to shift cars for the loading hours?

Once you have a likely date, send us both addresses and the floor numbers, and we will plan the day around the season.

This is general information, based on the reports and records listed above and checked in October 2026. Weather varies from year to year and roadworks come and go, so check the forecast and the state of your lane in the days before you move.
