Packers and movers · Karnal, Haryana
Maxx Relocation packs and moves research-institute quarters, sector houses and farmhouses in Karnal, for families heading up or down NH-44 or to other states. We organise every Karnal job from our office in Gurgaon.
Moving in Karnal

Karnal sits on NH-44 almost midway between Delhi and Chandigarh, with the Yamuna forming its eastern edge, as Karnal's Wikipedia entry describes. That position shapes the moves: a truck leaving Karnal is about as likely to head north to the tricity as south to NCR.
It is also a research town. The ICAR-National Dairy Research Institute, a deemed university under the Ministry of Agriculture, has its campus here, and so do national institutes working on soil salinity and wheat. Scientists, students and staff move out of campus housing on transfer or at the end of a course, usually against a vacating date.
We plan every Karnal move at our Gurgaon head office. For a long transfer, our domestic relocation page explains how goods are packed for several days on the road.

Finding your way
Most of Karnal is reached from the highway or one of its service lanes. These are the places we plan around.
The old GT Road, still called National Highway No. 1 on the district's travel page. Homes along it are often reached only from a service lane, which decides where the truck can stop.
The dairy research institute and the Central Soil Salinity Research Institute, set up in 1969, both have staff housing and hostels. Trucks enter with the estate office's permission.
On the Delhi–Ambala main line, where Shatabdi and long-distance trains stop. Homes near the old city often use it as a reference point.
A town just off NH-44 south of Karnal with Haryana Police training and forensic establishments. If your posting or quarter is there, tell us which gate the truck should use.
The city's medical college. Doctors, residents and students move in and out on academic and posting dates.
Homes we move
Campus quarters come with a checklist. The estate office usually wants the flat empty, cleaned and inspected by a set date, with the institute's own fittings left in place. We pack in the order the inspection needs, so rooms are cleared one by one rather than all at the last moment.
The sectors and Model Town are mostly plotted houses on one or two floors, with space for a truck at the gate. Scientists' homes often hold more books, files and framed certificates than furniture, and those need firm cartons and clear labels rather than bulk wrapping.
Farmhouses on the city's edge are the biggest jobs: long drives, outdoor seating, planters, storerooms and sometimes a room of stored grain or tools. We look at the property first and may pack over two days. Our household shifting page lists what we pack.
On the ground
Institute estate offices may ask for a no-dues slip and a joint inspection before the keys are returned. Check the process and the date before booking the truck.
Houses facing NH-44 are usually reached from the service lane, sometimes after a long U-turn. Tell us which side of the highway you are on.
Microscopes, balances or glassware that you own go in padded cartons or small crates, packed upright and marked. Institute-owned equipment is moved only with the institute's written approval.
Around the wheat harvest in April and the paddy harvest in October, grain trolleys slow the roads to the mandis. Village and farmhouse pickups take longer in those weeks.
When to move
Karnal gets most of its rain in July and August, and averages close to 700 mm a year. Heavy showers are the main risk, so cartons get extra tape along the joins and loading stops while a downpour passes.
Winter fog on NH-44 is thick in December and January, especially at dawn. Trucks heading to Delhi or Chandigarh leave once it thins, which may shift the unloading to the afternoon.
Summer highs have touched 46 °C. For a relaxed move, aim for the weeks after the monsoon or the end of winter, and avoid the harvest weeks if you are collecting from a farmhouse.

FAQ
Still have a question?
Call or WhatsApp us and talk it through with our team.
Yes. Institute estate offices set the handover date and the truck's entry slot; send us both. Packing finishes before the joint inspection, and the institute's own fittings stay where they are.
Chandigarh is about 125 km and Delhi about 140 km along NH-44, so a typical house is usually packed, driven and unloaded within a day or the next morning. Our Chandigarh and Delhi pages cover the other end.
Yes. Share the farm's location on a map and a picture of the track in. If the track is narrow or unpaved, we ferry goods in a smaller vehicle to where the big truck waits.
Books go flat in small, strong cartons so none are too heavy to lift. Instruments you own are padded, packed upright in crates or double cartons and marked fragile.
It may delay the start by a few hours in December and January. The truck leaves when visibility is safe, and we tell you the expected delivery time before loading.
Yes. We can pack your current home and keep everything in our warehouse, with your goods kept separate, until the new quarter is ready.
