Nashik sits at the third corner of Maharashtra's Mumbai–Pune–Nashik triangle, and most long moves from here run along one of its sides. Mumbai is a few hours away, down the Kasara ghat. Pune lies about 210 km south, through Sinnar and Sangamner. Both roads decide how we pack and when the truck sets off.

Ghats, Highways and Landmarks Around Nashik

  1. Kasara ghat

    The winding descent between Igatpuri and Kasara on the road to Mumbai, also called Thal Ghat. Loaded trucks crawl here, and in the monsoon fog and slips can hold traffic. The Samruddhi expressway now runs through a tunnel between Igatpuri and Kasara, so we choose the road for the day and still leave margin for any move heading to Mumbai.

  2. Mumbai–Agra highway

    The highway runs through the city past Dwarka circle, Indira Nagar and Pathardi Phata. Trucks for Dhule, Indore and north India leave on it, and many newer apartment blocks sit just off its service lanes.

  3. Satpur and Ambad MIDC

    Nashik's two big industrial estates, on the west side of the city. Transfers into and out of their units drive many local moves, and shift changes fill the nearby roads at set times of day.

  4. Nashik Road station

    The main railway station is in Nashik Road, well east of the city centre. It is a common reference for homes in Upnagar, along Jail Road and towards Deolali.

  5. Ramkund and the Panchavati ghats

    The bathing ghats on the Godavari draw large crowds on festival days, and very large ones in a Kumbh year. Moves in the lanes of Panchavati and old Nashik are best kept clear of those dates.

  6. Vineyards towards Gangapur Dam

    Wineries and grape farms line the roads out beyond Gangapur Road. Farmhouse moves here often need a smaller vehicle for the last stretch of kacha road.

Homes we move

Nashik Homes: Bungalows, CIDCO Houses and Cantonment Quarters

Much of Nashik still lives in bungalows and row houses, especially around College Road, Gangapur Road and Indira Nagar. These homes usually have a gate the truck can back up to, but they hold a lot: garden pots, terrace water tanks, old wooden cots and a loft full of trunks. We walk through the house first and agree on what will be taken apart.

Newer apartments around Pathardi Phata, Gangapur Road and Nashik Road are mostly mid-rise buildings. Some have small lifts that will not take a sofa or a double bed upright, so the crew carries big items down the stairs. In CIDCO, the houses are compact and close together, and a smaller vehicle often suits the lanes better than a full truck.

Deolali is an army cantonment. Families moving into or out of quarters there should check what entry papers the crew and truck will need, and when the quarters must be handed back, before we fix the packing day.

What to Plan Before a Nashik Move

  • Ghat timing

    For Mumbai and Thane moves, we try to cross the Kasara ghat in daylight and away from the heaviest weekend traffic. In very heavy rain, we would rather wait a few hours than rush the descent.

  • Kumbh Mela years

    Nashik and Trimbakeshwar host the Simhastha Kumbh about once every twelve years, and the next one is listed for July to August 2027. On the main bathing days, roads near the Godavari may be closed or diverted, so check local traffic notices before fixing a date.

  • Cantonment entry

    Entry to Deolali Camp can involve checks on outside vehicles and people. Ask your unit or the cantonment office what the crew should carry.

  • Society rules

    Some apartment societies want notice before a move-out and allow loading only at set hours. A quick call to the secretary saves time on the day.

Which Months Are Best for Shifting House in Nashik?

November to February is the easiest time for a Nashik move of any length. The cool season brings warm days, cool nights and very dry air, so roads stay dry and the crew works comfortably.
