For a Sector 60 move, the 2026 monsoon put the risk on the two roads out of the sector: Golf Course Extension Road and Vatika Chowk were jammed by waterlogging on 7 July 2026, and the stretch from Badshahpur to Vatika Chowk crawled again in early August. No dated heat report we found mentions Sector 60 or its roads, so summer needs only the usual hot-weather care; the weeks to plan around run from July into early September.

Our search was limited to dated reports mentioning Sector 60, Golf Course Extension Road or Vatika Chowk. None named Sector 60 itself. Older floods on the Extension Road, from 2024 and 2025, are covered in our Sector 61 monsoon guide; this post looks at the 2026 season and at what it means for a Sector 60 home, where goods often go to more than one place.

What did the 2026 reports say about the roads around Sector 60?

They show a city that cut its official list of problem spots while the roads Sector 60 depends on still jammed. In order of date:

Date Publisher What was reported
19 April 2026 The Tribune 159 waterlogging hotspots flagged across Gurugram before the monsoon, 4 of them extremely critical; the article did not list them by name
3 May 2026 The Tribune Tender done for an eight-lane Golf Course Extension Road with a drain on both sides; ground work due to begin
7 July 2026 The Tribune First heavy rain, up to 82 mm in a day; both the Extension Road and Vatika Chowk on the paper's list of long jams caused by standing water
25 July 2026 The Tribune GMDA says flood-prone spots fell from about 90 in 2019 to seven; none is in the Sector 58–67 belt; a new master drain from Vatika Chowk to NH-48 along the SPR commissioned
28 July 2026 The Tribune The SPR among the roads free of major waterlogging during a day of rain; GMDA's list down to six
7 August 2026 India.com Heavy traffic on the Extension Road between Badshahpur and Vatika Chowk, and slow traffic on the SPR near Vatika Chowk, as drivers avoided waterlogged stretches
9 August 2026 The Tribune 97 mm of rain on 7 August flooded several arterial roads; MCG and GMDA had identified 155 hotspots that monsoon

The first heavy spell is the clearest. On 7 July, The Tribune reported that more than 50 mm fell within an hour in some areas, and it named both the Extension Road and Vatika Chowk among the stretches where waterlogging caused long jams. A month later, a report on India.com described that Friday morning's traffic on the same road, with delays running towards Sectors 66 and 69.

Why do the official lists and the road reports disagree?

Because they count different things. GMDA's chief executive told The Tribune in July that only seven locations remained vulnerable, none of them on Golf Course Extension Road; the list named places such as Narsinghpur, Khandsa Chowk and Sector 28 near Chakkarpur, where it said permanent engineering fixes were under way. Two weeks later, the same paper reported that MCG and GMDA together had identified 155 waterlogging hotspots that season.

For a moving day, neither list answers the real question, which is whether a loaded truck can reach your gate and leave again in a reasonable time. The 7 July and 7 August reports answer that one, and for the roads around Sector 60 the answer on those days was no, not quickly. So we read a short official list as progress, not as a forecast for your date.

Is the way out through Vatika Chowk better than it was?

Partly. The underpass at Vatika Chowk, opened on 10 November 2023, carries traffic between the SPR and the Extension Road under the junction. In 2026, GMDA said the Master Carrier Drain Leg-IV, running from Vatika Chowk to NH-48 along the SPR, was one of three drainage projects commissioned before the monsoon. On 28 July The Tribune listed the SPR among the roads that stayed free of major waterlogging that day, though Gurugram tehsil had only 35 mm of rain.

The early-August report is the caution. Even with the new drain, the SPR near Vatika Chowk was slow as drivers steered around water elsewhere. For a Sector 60 move this junction matters twice over: our Sector 60 page explains that lots leaving Gurgaon go out through it, and that in wet weather we look at it before a vehicle is sent.

How does rain change a split move from Sector 60?

It multiplies the exposure. A Sector 60 home being downsized is often packed into lots: one for the new flat, one for storage and one for another city. Each lot has its own vehicle and its own date, so one wet day can cost more than one slot. This is how the risk falls on each lot, and what we plan for it:

Lot Where the rain bites What goes in the plan
New flat in Gurgaon A jammed Extension Road can push unloading late into the evening A spare day after the delivery date in July and August
Storage Goods spend months in the warehouse, so damp at loading matters most Sealed and palletised for the long wait, as for any stored lot
Another city Leaves by Vatika Chowk and the SPR, the junction that jammed in July and August 2026 The junction checked on the morning the truck departs

The table is why we leave gaps between delivery dates in the rainy months rather than running the lots back to back. If one slips, it does not take the next one with it. Stored goods can also be sent on from our warehouse to another city later, so the intercity lot does not have to leave on a wet week at all. For the long-distance side, see our domestic relocation service.

Does a tower flat or a low-rise floor face the rain differently?

Yes, because the goods leave the building in different ways. Wikipedia's tallest-buildings list gives Ireo Skyon in Sector 60 39 floors, completed in 2018. In a tower like that, cartons travel by service lift to a loading point, and the lots come down one at a time so that each vehicle is filled with its own goods. In heavy rain the question is where that loading point is and whether it is covered.

Sector 60 also has low-rise floors. Adani Realty lists Samsara Arya in the sector as a stilt-plus-four building with one home per floor, still under construction with possession expected in December 2026. In a block like this the truck can often stand near the stilt, but goods may wait on the stilt parking level before they are loaded. Ask the builder's team or facility office before the day:

  • Is the stilt or loading area covered, and does water collect there in heavy rain?
  • Where can the truck stand if the usual spot is under water?
  • In a newly finished block, is the lift running and cleared for goods on your date?

What about summer heat in Sector 60?

As of 11 October 2026, no dated report on heat or power cuts that we could find mentions Sector 60 or Golf Course Extension Road. So we offer no local temperature figure, and nothing below is a response to a Sector 60 report; it is ordinary care for a hot day in any Gurgaon home:

  1. Start early. Carrying, especially down the stairs of a low-rise block, is done before the afternoon.
  2. Pack what spoils first. Medicines, cosmetics, candles and food go in your own car, not in a truck that may wait at a gate.
  3. Water at the door. Keep drinking water where your helpers and the crew pass on every trip.
  4. Agree the day's order. With several lots, decide which vehicle loads first so no one waits in the sun for a lift.

Which months carry the least risk for a Sector 60 move?

October to March, going by the reports we found. Every dated 2026 report of jams from waterlogging on these roads falls between 7 July and early August, and the older reports in our Sector 61 guide run from late July to early September. The one earlier warning is a pre-monsoon storm: on 2 May 2025, The Tribune reported that parts of the SPR caved in after about three and a half hours of rain.

Months Reports we found Planning
October to March No dated flooding reports for these roads Normal planning; check the widening works on the approach
April to June No dated heat report for Sector 60 or its roads; part of the SPR caved in during a storm on 2 May 2025 Early starts, heat-sensitive items in your car, and a road check after any storm
July to early September Jams from waterlogging on the Extension Road and at Vatika Chowk in July and August 2026 Gaps between lots, a spare day and a check of Vatika Chowk before departure

What should you sort out before a rainy-season move in Sector 60?

  • To do: Space the lot dates apart, with a free day after each one.
  • To do: Ask the facility office for a pass for each vehicle on each date.
  • To do: Check the IMD forecast for Gurugram two days ahead and on the morning.
  • To do: Agree a back-up parking place for the truck in case its normal spot is under water.
  • To do: Keep the lot-wise inventory in a plastic folder, so the guard can read it in the rain.
  • To do: Decide which lot can wait in storage if the road is shut on the day.

Key takeaway

In 2026 the rain risk for Sector 60 sat on Golf Course Extension Road and Vatika Chowk, not on GMDA's short list. If your dates are flexible, choose October to March; in July and August, space out the lots and keep storage as the fall-back.

For packing each lot, see our household shifting page. When your dates are set, send us the details and we will plan the lots around them.

This post is general information; each fact in it is tied to one of the dated, listed sources. Drains get rebuilt, works move and each monsoon is different, so look at the latest IMD forecast and Gurugram traffic updates in the days before you move.
