Rewari is one of the old railway towns of south Haryana. Its first metre-gauge line opened in 1873, and the steam loco shed built in 1893 still stands near the station as the Rewari Railway Heritage Museum. The town is part of the NCR and sits on NH-48, the Delhi–Jaipur highway.

South of the town, that highway runs through two industrial towns. Bawal, about 11 km from Rewari, has an industrial township that HSIIDC set up in 1995 for auto-parts makers, and Dharuhera has estates on both sides of the road. If you work there and are moving between Rewari, Manesar and Gurgaon, the drive is short and most of the day goes into packing and loading.

Rewari's Highways, Rail Junction and Industrial Towns

Five national highways meet at Rewari. These are the roads and places that decide which way the truck leaves.

  1. NH-48 through Dharuhera and Bawal

    The Delhi–Jaipur highway. Most moves towards Gurgaon, Delhi or Jaipur use it, and the district administration puts Delhi about 95 km away on NH-48.

  2. NH-352W via Pataudi

    A shorter road from Rewari to Gurgaon through Pataudi, listed as a national highway in its own right. It suits homes on Gurgaon's western side, so we compare it with NH-48 for each move.

  3. NH-352 and NH-11

    NH-352 runs north through Jhajjar to Rohtak, and NH-11 runs west to Narnaul and on into Rajasthan. Village pickups in the Kosli or Nahar blocks usually start from one of these.

  4. Rewari Junction and the loco shed

    A major junction on the railway network. The heritage loco shed sits about 400 m north of the station entrance, and it is a handy marker if your home is on that side of the tracks.

  5. Dharuhera industrial estate

    About 19 km from Rewari on NH-48, with large two-wheeler, component and dairy plants on both sides of the highway. Staff housing and rentals cluster close to the estate.

Old-Town Houses, Sector Plots and Rentals Near the Plants

Rewari's brass industry goes back to the 1500s, and many families in the old town still keep heavy metal utensils, big steel almirahs and carved wooden beds. Houses stand close together here and stairs are narrow. We send enough hands for the carry and pack metal ware separately so it does not scratch the furniture.

The sector houses and newer colonies have wider roads and room for a truck at the gate. These are usually straightforward household shifts, with more time spent on packing than on access.

In Dharuhera and Bawal, many homes are rented rooms and small flats taken by people who work in the plants. The loads are light, but dates are tight, because a new joining date or a shift roster rarely moves. A small vehicle is often enough.

    For a Gurgaon move we pick the route by where your new home is and the time of day. Both routes are costed before you confirm.

  • Company housing rules

    If you are moving out of housing provided by an employer, ask the admin office about the vacating date, the inspection and any gate pass the truck will need.

  • Arriving at a Gurgaon society

When to move

Rewari's Heat, Winter Chill and the Easier Months

Rewari swings from about 0 °C in January to around 46 °C in May and June. Summer loading goes best in the early morning, and anything that can melt or warp, such as candles, cosmetics or vinyl records, is safer in your own car.

Rain is light, with an average of about 553 mm a year, mostly in short July and August spells. We keep covers ready, but the monsoon rarely stops a Rewari move for long.

December and January mornings can be foggy on NH-48, so a truck bound for Jaipur or further may set off a little later. October, November, February and March are usually the most comfortable months to shift.
