Packers and movers · Goa (Panaji)
Maxx Relocation packs and moves homes across Goa, from a Panaji flat or an Assagao villa to an old family house in Margao, and takes households out of the state. We plan for village lanes, sea-air damp and the ghat roads into Karnataka, and quote in writing first.
Moving in Goa

Goa is small enough to drive across in a few hours, so we treat the whole state as one service area rather than a single city. Panaji (Panjim) is our reference point. From there, North Goa runs up past Porvorim and Mapusa to the beach villages, and South Goa stretches across the Zuari to Vasco, Margao and the quieter coast beyond.
The homes are what make a Goa move different. A family might be leaving a Portuguese-era house in Margao full of heavy rosewood furniture, or closing up an Assagao villa that was only used in winter. A holiday flat in Candolim may have been shut for months, and damp is nearly always part of the picture.
Many Goa moves are long hauls to Bengaluru, Pune or Mumbai, over the Western Ghats or up the Konkan coast. We plan the packing around that journey and around the season.
Areas we cover
We cover homes across North and South Goa, not only the towns listed here. Tell us your village or ward when you ask for a quote.
Finding your way
Reference points for describing your address and planning the road out of the state.
The main north–south road through Goa, and the route up the Konkan coast towards Mumbai or down towards Karwar and Mangaluru. Many villages sit a few kilometres off it, on roads much narrower than the highway.
They link Panaji with Porvorim and the rest of North Goa. Office traffic builds up on them morning and evening, so moves out of the capital start early.
NH-66 crosses the Zuari between Agassaim on the Panaji side and Cortalim, and a new cable-stayed bridge has carried traffic here since late 2022. It is the road to Vasco, Margao and the south, and on a North-to-South Goa move it is the one stretch where timing really matters.
Two of the roads over the Western Ghats into Karnataka, towards Belagavi. Many trucks for Pune and Bengaluru climb one of them, and both can be slow in heavy rain, so we check road conditions before a monsoon departure.
Dabolim, near Vasco, serves the south, and Manohar International at Mopa in Pernem taluka has served the far north since January 2023. Owners of second homes often fly in just for the packing day, so tell us your flight and airport and we will set the start time around it.
Homes we move
Old Goan houses, with their high ceilings, front verandahs (balcões) and tiled roofs, often hold furniture older than the owners: carved beds, glass-fronted cabinets, heavy teak or rosewood tables. We wrap these in several layers, protect carved edges and, for the most delicate pieces, build a wooden crate. Tell us about any antiques when you ask for a quote so the crates can be sized in advance.
Villas in North Goa are usually easier to load, with a driveway and space around the house, but the road outside may be a single lane through a village. In that case a smaller vehicle shuttles goods to a bigger truck parked on the main road.
Holiday flats and second homes are the other big group. When a flat has been locked through a monsoon, we check cupboards, mattresses and upholstery for damp before packing, and keep anything mouldy apart so it does not spread to other cartons.
On the ground
Goods vehicles entering or leaving Goa pass state check posts, where papers for the load may be looked at. Keep your ID and a copy of the inventory handy, and ask us what else to carry for your route.
Tell us whether the lane outside fits a truck. If it does not, we plan a shuttle vehicle and a parking spot on the main road.
Sea air is hard on wood, leather and electronics. We give these extra plastic wrapping and do not seal anything into a carton while it is still wet.
Gated villa complexes and apartment buildings in Porvorim, Panaji and Candolim often set their own entry and timing rules. Check with the manager before the day.
When to move
October–November and February–April are the easiest months. The rains have gone, roads are dry, and the tourist rush is either still to come or already over. May is usually Goa's hottest month, humid as well as hot, so we start packing early in the day.
From June to September, Goa gets most of its year's rain, often for days on end. Moves still happen, but loading may pause in a downpour, village roads can flood and the ghat roads to Karnataka can be slow. We sheet every load and keep a buffer day.
Mid-December to early January is peak holiday season. Roads around Calangute, Candolim and Panaji jam up, and parking is hard to find. If you can, keep a North Goa move out of the Christmas and New Year week.

Pricing guidance
A Goa quote depends as much on the house and the lane outside as on the distance. An old Goan house full of antiques is a different job from a holiday flat, and these are the points we price.

FAQ
Still have a question?
Call or WhatsApp us and talk it through with our team.
Yes. We plan moves from Pernem in the north to Canacona in the south, and between the two halves of the state. A Porvorim to Margao shift is a local Goa move and is usually finished in a day.
Yes. Carved or fragile pieces from old Goan houses are wrapped first and then crated in wood. Send us photos of the pieces when you ask for a quote so we can size the crates before packing day.
It is harder, not impossible. Heavy Goa rain from June to September slows loading and the ghat roads, so we sheet every load, give wood and electronics an extra plastic layer and keep a spare day in the plan. If your dates are flexible, October or February is easier.
It can often be arranged. Someone you trust needs to hand over the keys, stay for the packing and sign the inventory. We then send you the list, and the goods can go straight to your new home or into storage. Discuss it with us when you ask for a quote.
Goods vehicles pass state check posts on the way into and out of Goa, and papers for the load may be checked. Keep your ID and address proof handy. Rules can change, so ask us about your route before the move.
Yes to both. Cars travel on a covered car carrier with online vehicle tracking; see car transport. If you are leaving India, our international moving service handles export packing and the shipment.
